What the fuck can have caused this? Am I not getting enough oil or fuel?
>>16770888
well as it looks like its picked up on the bore and skirt, imma say not enough oil
overheating... blown headgasket?
>>16770923
but why would overheat?
>>16770964
Any number of reasons can cause overheating
>>16770923
It ran nicely until suddenly the engine temperature shot up and I lost all compression in one of the cylinders.I think one of the injectors must have clogged or something and it ran dry. The piston rings seem pretty burned. I had a shop rebuild this engine 300 miles ago.
It's a 2 stroke snowmobile engine btw.

name 4
>>16770964
Using too thick of an oil.
If its just that piston skirt looking fucked id start with the injectors, spark plug/ coil and valve train. Maybe even the lobes on your camshaft for that cylinder are worn and cause the valves to lag causing over-compression.
lots of shit that could potentially be the problem.
>>16771021
>valve train
kek
>lobes on your camshaft for that cylinder are worn
double kek
>>16771031
Didn't even see it was a fucking 2 stroke....
It ran super lean, probably caused it to overheat
>>16771002
timing
exhaust
lean tune
cooling system clog
cooling system leak
low oil
low coolant
fan not working
water pump impeller problems
missing belt
>>16770914
This guy knows. Did you run the proper mixture? Looks like it was dry as hell in there. I can't see any oil residue anywhere.
>>16771053
Well I only asked for 4 so I'm not giving any credit for the other 6.
You didn't use premix. No oil.
Checked the other pistons/walls?
It looks like it ran dry of oil. Overheating usually makes more deformation and flaking
>>16771076
>oh nooooo.jaypeg
>>16771081
No need for premix.
>>16771131
On a 2 stroke? Doubt Is had
>>16771131
you do
>>16771085
The other cylinder and piston looks fine.
>>16771136
>>16771159
The engine has a oil pump and a seperate oil tank.
>>16771163
Well that sounds like your problem. Is it a moped? The oil pumps fail on those all the time. Highly recommend you run premix from now on.
>>16771163
Never trust an oil pump on a vehicle like that
>>16771178
My point still stands.
The fucking company that rebuild the engine went "bankrupt" And the same fucking guys started another company in my town and legally there's nothing I can do about it.
