I will probably survive hard mode, there are a fuckload of airbags in there and the chassis is pretty rigid, it was specifically designed to pass overlap tests,

however my interior is stripped so I'll probably manage to smack my head on something sharp like the seat belt pulley bracket.

The cop Explorers are not invincible either, the'll crumple like any car. The most dangerous vehicle in that list is probably the body-on-frame Vic.

As i said above, the physical deformation of car's body is one thing, but sudden stop is no less dangerous, your internal organs and most importantly head will fly towards the steering wheel and be held only by safety belt so only thing that might save you are airbags.

However that doesn't mean the heavier car is necessarily safer, since the heavier car may not be as stiff as it needs to be and probably doesn't handle as well.

A head-on crash at 45MPH with ANYTHING on my motorbike would kill me and the bike. A 45MPH oncoming vehicle would probably result in me headbutting the driver to death as well.
Although given the situation pictured, I'd have budged way over in anticipation of dipshits doing dipshit things, and possibly even laid the bike down to slide to a halt on the road, sacrificing my expensive biking gear and the bike's bodywork and levers for being able to yell obscenities and give the finger.

it is literally a unibody Ford Explorer with a bullbar, slightly hopped up engine and heavy duty suspension.
It's no tougher than your average soccermom SUV, because that's exactly what it is. The Crown Victoria on the other hand, is literally built like a truck and will be MUCH harder to kill than the Explorer Interceptor. If it was a CVPI, I'd be totally fucked.

Also my interior is stripped because Fiat Chrysler thought it would be funny to put a 1.4-liter engine in a 3000 lb car then give it more turbo lag than a 4G Supra. And I thought it would be even funnier to own one (it is).

My '69 KG would be wrecked instantly by everything but it's LHD so I'd be out of the firing line and the same is true for the '71 181.

The only one likely to cause me serious harm is the BRZ, it may have a good safety rating but lets be honest I'd be sideways at the point of impact with bugger all relative protection.

My dad survived an accident just like this. The speed limit on the road was 50 so he was probably going 45 when the accident occurred. From what I understood a car was cutoff on the opposite side causing someone to swerve onto oncoming traffic. Amazingly he survived. The other car was totaled, don't know how our little truck held up. Honestly it should have been written off as well because the steering wasn't straight and it made a lot more nosie and rattles after it was "fixed".
