Is all good music "catchy?"
No.
>>70426178
But if a song doesn't remain in your head after listening, has it accomplished anything?
Forget about the pure definition of catchy-ness.
>>70426229
A great song stays in your head and you like that feeling
A catchy song is just annoying to think about and you'll catch yourself mumbling it on accident, and then get mad because you don't even like the song, you just have it stuck in your head
It's why popular music stays popular, because it's impossible to stop thinking about

There, happy to contribute to the company coffers. :^)
Why does Pitchfork hate Joan of Arc so much? Will they finally give them a 8.0+ rating when they reissue their first album?
literally what the fuck happened from here and onward?
>>70426073
Children
>>70426713
there was only 1 year since RIP, is that literally it?
>implying Youthanasia and Cryptic Writings were bad
Everyone knows they tanked with Risk
MASTURBATION IS GOOD BUT IT IS NOT THE BEST
>>70425931
Hence it is "Mindless Self Indulgence."
>>70425931
And either way it's still the worst fucking album cover I've seen in my life.
>>70427459
Don't be so sure anon

This sounds like a rejected Yeezus/Life Of Pablo Track

Can someone explain what this is? I heard it a bunch while closing at work last night because it kept coming up as an ad on the youtube playlist someone had on.
Can anyone explain to me what the fuck Ska is? I used to think Ska was like really upbeat alt rock with brass (mostly trumpets) in the background, somebody once used Smash Mouth as a an example when explaining it to me. But then I google it and try to read some background on it, and it originated in 60s Jamaica? And for some reason its also associated with Hawaiian shirts? But also 60's black tie suits and shit? What the fuck?
>>70425675
Read more dude
There are multiple waves of it. The stuff with guys in suits is second wave, check out The Specials. The stuff like old Smashmouth and Goldfinger and stuff like that is third wave.
>>70425675
Just read the Wikipedia page. What you thought of as ska is actually 3rd wave ska
ITT we request and recommend albums suited perfectly to a particular action or feel.
>pic related, music to eat fruit too.

Someone make one for meat
>>70425580
this is essential meat-core
Tell me this isn't normiecore now. The blonde girl from Hannah Montana posted it. It's mainstream.
She's literally just some 24 year old.
Do you act this way when you deal with girls in person?
How many times are you going to post this?
How do you feel about this album?
Currently listening to this for the first time, it's nice so far.
What are albums you feel you've missed out on?
I fucking love it. I feel as if I missed out on Kendrick for way too long. I just listened to GKMC fully in December. I ended up listening to only it and TPAB for all of the rest of that month.
>>70425444
as whole its not that good. has some good songs and has some really poor songs
>>70425495
Which are the bad songs? What's bad about them?
Tell me this isn't normiecore now. The blonde girl from Hannah Montana posted it. It's mainstream.
My 8 year old cousin loves danny brown. He's super popular at her school.
>>70425360
who cares you fucking hipster, it's still good.
>>70425360
you realize that /mu/ is full of normies right?
Name genres more influential than Krautrock.
rockabilly

jazz
Why is there a vinyl revival and why are people interested at all?
Advantages of vinyl
>looks cool
>kinda nostalgic, maybe
>moar warm bass
Disadvantages
>more inconvenient compared to digital and CD
>expensive, not only for an LP but a turntable and good speakers/headphones along with costs of amps/DACs, fixing room acoustics
>physically degrades, bends, warps, gets scratched
>FLAC rips are taken from the CD
>>70425100
advantages of vinyl:
>looks cooler
>early pressings of old albums (up until the 80s) often sounds better than a cd reissue
that's it.
You have posted this before
>>70425319
I know.
Why didn't Green Day protest Obama's drone strike program?
Liberals being hypocrites isn't anything new
>Green Day protests the Bush administration for its fascism and warring
>says nothing about the fascist and behind-the-back deals of the Obama administration
>Calls the idea of a Trump administration "fascist"
Hmm
>>70425096
Who's got the Herbie.png?
When did you realize that electronic music is the only thing that could possibly qualify as art in the 21st century? For me it was just now.
>>70425095
That's a nice ass imo
>>70425095
oh hey a new trip to filter
>>70425550
disgusting and out of proportion.
Alright, /moo/
I'm going on a road trip with a qt on two days, what albums should we listen to? i was given free reign and I can't think of anything to play. pls help
>>70425074
dont sperg out and just put on the radio. no girl will be turned on by your music taste
>>70425112
dont listen to this OP. if a girl isn't turned on by your taste in tunes, then she's not worth your time. play your favorite album, and if she doesn't like it kick her outta the car
Girls love death crisps
>>70425112
(not true by the way)
