Music is devalued these days. Once is was a scarce commodity: make a long trip to a venue to listen to it live, flip through the racks of a used CD shop looking for a gem. Now you can call up almost everything, no matter how obscure. Anyone can be an expert googling up rare release data and band histories, no one needs to follow a band any more. So people have created an artificial scarcity difficulty to cult listening in order to give it value.

I only buy vinyl when the music i want is only available on vinyl.
Same with cassette tapes, a lot of dope ass music is only on cassette.
