Japan's Broadcasting Ethics & Program Improvement Organization is investigating and reviewing IBO for inappropriate content. Though the show has ended, if it is found to be inappropriate, this would mean no re-runs can be broadcast, and might affect releases of home media.
>>15455492
What a load of bullshit. If this is what it really says in that article then, going along with what they are planning to do, they should investigate almost every anime not targeted at kids where there's plenty of this ''inappropriate'' stuff.
>>15455509
The biggest problem here is a minor getting pregnant.
I'm pretty sure this is for the implied sex between minors stuff. Japan has a weird mix of publically being completely no tolerance of this kind of thing politically and legally, while also being the leading publisher of this kind of crap.

That is the Gundam Vual frame with the old parts.
Apparently when they semi completed the Gundam Astaroth, it got stolen, so they had to make do with all if the previous parts and have them fitted onto the Vual frame.
>>15455276
What... Why was the Vual wearing like 80% of the Astaroth Origin parts anyway? Where's the Vual's original equipment?
>>15455276
Then why did they call it astaroth renaissance something and not vual renaissance something?

Anime News Network gives Gundam X's second half (episodes 20-39) an "A" grade in story. For context, the reviewer gave the first half a C+ for being a Saturday morning cartoon that always looped back to a status quo. The second half, she says, is much better because the cancellaton gave the series better pacing and an actual plot. Do you agree?
Personally, I liked Gundam X, but an "A" is way too high. Opinons ofc, but Gundam X was pretty average.
Gundam X has now dropped to least favorite after being given a good rating by ANN.
Gundam X is so boring it gave my friend cancer
I mean shit, even SEED Destiny is at least fun to watch
If you ask me, Gundam X barely touched on what a post-apocalyptic world ruined by a colony drop winter would be like, which IMO is a gigantic missed opportunity given how worldbuilding is one of the key aspects what makes a Gundam show works, you want to show how the world responds and deals with the issues at hand, it's why each Tomino Gundam is recognized for its worldbuilding. We don't see what people did in those 15 years underground, how they rebuilt their cities, what the effects of the disaster actually were, and so on. Relics of war and newtypes being treated as legends was a nice idea, but that only happened in the first episode really. Vultures are also an interesting concept, but they are dropped when the Feds enter the scene. I still don't know where Jamil gets all that money when we barely see the crew trading anything.
Though I'd say the first half is somewhat carried by its CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, it can still feel a bit too formulaic with its 'team journeys around and deals with an inconsequential bad guy' formula for the most part. The New Federation vs. Revolutionaries conflict is a bit more interesting because of how it deals with Newtypes both as a concept and not treating them like Jedi (but like a compass instead). The unfortunate part with this is once again the worldbuilding, where you get the impression that each entire faction revolves around the big evil fat guy in charge of them. All the other people under their command come off as mooks because we never fucking see them, or any of the civilians for that matter. Gundam X' character cast size is way too small for its own good. The latter half does have more tighter pacing and is a bit better overall, though the cancellation does leave some characters unexplored like Jamil's rival. The Frost Brothers' main motivation being 'we were looked down upon so we're gonna make everyone pay' was horribly childish as well.

I liked Zeon's take on it better.

oh shit how have I not made this comparisson.
Gundam lore just got deeper for me.
So what's the consensus on ZZ Hedgehog?
If anyone's wondering, it's an Okawara cleanup of a fan design that won a contest.
What did he mean by this?
>>15454953
So, is he a devolutionary product? Or is he like the other universe Ryouma?
>>15454989
Probably like one of those Musashi clones in Arc.
Though he might be Benkei.
>>15454953
Seems like the original Musashi died in this universe. But the Ryoma from the other universe told Saotome they need a Musashi to die.
So Saotome somehow procured a Musashi. This one is probably some sort of clone.

For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

**MELEE GROUP BUILD**
Build/paint a robot with a loadout focused on melee combat! Anything from shields to swords to lances to axes to bare fists is fair game. There's no room for ranged weaponry here, however, so anything resembling a rifle, Rocket Launcher, cannon, pistol, or any other ranged weapon is a no-go (Small ranged weapons that are built into the kit itself like head vulcans are ok, however).
More clarification here:
>If the body part has a built-in ranged weapon (head/chest vulcans, claw beams, etc), then that's fine. If it's a separate part like the Alex's arm vulcans it's best to leave those off.
>Melee weapons with in-universe ranged capabilities (Like the Kimaris's lance or the Gyan's shield) are fair game too.
>Any scale and any brand is fair game here, you're not limited to just using Gundams this time around.

What's /m/'s favorite ~50ep mecha show?
What about ~25ep?
>>15453929
I never became accustomed to watching 3+ cour shows until I finally got through 0079. That was like last week though so we'll see how things go with Zeta and SEED

I've never even finished an NGE anime but that made me kek
Why is the dialogue in Zeta so weird sometimes? 0079 had goofy stuff but every single episode someone says something completely out-of-character.
Take pic related for example, Emma is a pretty grounded character and then she says something like this to Bright.
I am enjoying Zeta but happened to Tomino between series that he included the very strange dialogue? Not even mentioning the fact that the AEUG is apparently motivated by saving Earth's environment?
What exactly bothers you about those particular examples?
>>15453907
Mostly because it doesn't really sound natural at all.
'Not wanting to promote a mother complex' is something that you find in a review, perhaps, or character analysis not straight-up dialogue.
So, I guess it's mostly because there's no subtlety to it. If it was said in a more roundabout 'human' way I wouldn't have much of a problem with it.
>>15453919
I agree it a kind of blunt way of putting it.
Tomino kind of does that: trying really hard to push the themes forward so people complain that he is ham-handed but it seems to me those people just accept uncritically anything any character says without further analyzing it and fail to register how this expresses the way the characters actually feel and it's overall significance to the story and the themes.
I'm still kinda bummed we didn't get a harem end.
I was pulling for Sheryl if it had to be one or the other, but I don't think it would've felt forced if Alto said he wouldn't choose between them.
Nah, Ranka didn't deserve to win shit.
I don't like using this word because it's the thing butthurt shippers use when their OTP doesn't win but I really don't think Alto and Ranka had any real romantic chemistry at least not to the level he did with Sheryl

Do large breasts ever get in the way of piloting mecha in any /m/ media?
Has anyone canonically have to get breast reduction to pilot mecha?
Get out of here with your sick fetish
Breast reduction, absolutely disgusting
Really liked Imagawa's other works such as the Giant Robo OVAs and G Gundam so I was wondering if I should give this series a shot as well
It's ok, watch tetsujin 28-gou first though, it's a hundred times better..
