Let me preface this by saying, I'm surprised how different an impact the MSG Trilogies have on me, when watching them stoned. It's really quite amazing.

I never really considered the character impact that Lalah and Amuro's encounter in space had for the entirety of the series (beyond the obvious Char/Amuro rivalry being rooted in the death of a mutually loved one).

What struck me the most was how absolutely distraught Lalah seemed to be, that she "met Amuro" too late and that she had already decided that her reason to fight was to protect Char, the one person who found her, gave her purpose, and perhaps truly loved her.

I've never done LSD or DMT, but I like to think the experience of being connected, feeling truly connected and understanding a person, things, feelings, the universe, existence itself, etc... truly becoming "one" in a metaphysical sense, is similar to the experience Lalah and Amuro had.

With that said, shouldn't such a profound experience of being the first 2 humans to fully, 100% understand one another in an instant, be more than enough for someone to rethink his or her intentions/reasons for fighting/reasons for existing? I am surprised that Lalah chose not to reconcile, rather to recoil in disappointment.

It's worth noting that in the MSG novels, i think it was Chalia Bull who made a similar mistake-- he tried to "push" too hard to become one with someone (was it Kusko Al? I can't remember!) but the person reacted in a similar way-- it was far too much to understand and take in, and so the advance was met with rejection.

So:

1. What if Lalah reconciled, fully took in the Newtype encounter, and joined Amuro? Would she or he even still wish to fight in a war?

2. One step further, how "connected" could 2 newtypes truly become? Is there a limit? If Amuro and Lalah had kept the encounter going, would there be something catastrophic like a Second Impact or similar? What are the physical consequences of a pure Newtype resonance?

Oldfags we need to have a serious chat. I know most of you hate Destiny for "characters" and "rehashing" and "stock footage" (despite how extremely common it is in mecha). I know a lot of you hate Age for pretty much everything after Flit's arc. I know a lot of you hate G-Reco for questionable pacing and dialogue. That all being said, there is a reason Japan and a good chunk of the fandom reviles pic related. It does nothing correct, objective or otherwise, at some point we need to let go of the more misgivings like beam spam and joyful moments. We have finally been hit with a genuinely bad entry, the first since G-Saviour.

It failed in every category, it killed the Sunday late afternoon anime slot, and the government might halt rebroadcasting, these are things no previous gundam entry has ever accomplished in terms of being very wrong.

Well that was fucking terrible. They totally ruined Mineva's character and get me started on the retarded amount of UNDERSTANDING.

The battle scenes were on point though. Best I've seen, actually.

I just finished episode 30 of Turn A, and I have to say, that it's bad. It's not bad because the story is awful like G Saviour, or the characters are hateful like the first part of ZZ, or the animation is bad. It is just bad because it's so bland and dry. After 30 episodes, all I can keep thinking is "Will this be the ep that Sochie gets Katz'd?"
I'm going to finish watching but, does Turn A every actually become interesting, or does it stay this way till the end?

What are some of the most brutal mecha deaths?

You know how some suits are naturally flawed, but they're one of your favorites so you try and figure out a way to use them anyways?
I was trying to make a Zudah that could be used at high speeds for more than 10 seconds before exploding. So I figured if the problem is the engine, why not have extra engines and purge the one that's overloading?
I only managed to do this by sticking the engines on the limbs. So that's four extra engines, but now I have to purge an entire limb when it starts to go. Could be better, but it's what I've got.
Then when practicing with this I discovered a beautiful side effect. When I purged the arm with a overheating engine the arm just kept flying and eventually exploded. But now I have a rocket punch Zudah! Anyone else got moments of accidental genius?
