>read mystical works
>social life is destroyed
Is this normal?
>>8517956
Yeah, you're heading the right way.
>>8517956
yes very good
Don't read too much esoteric shit or you'll lose contact with reality.
Read some Thich Nhat Hanh. He's pretty comfy.
Is he the greatest thinker of our time?
>>8517935
No he's a leftist.
It's milo and Sam Hyde

If my edition of a book is divided to volumes, how do I add it to Goodreads? I have War and Peace copy which has four volumes. I could ask on Goodreads, but I would prefer not to.
pls respond
>>8517931
>I could do the logical thing
>But I prefer not to
Whichever you want. I personally would add it as one whole work, but you can search for your 4-book edition and add each volume separately.
I've got a little proofreading business that I've started up in Silicon Valley, /lit/.
I need to make those pull-tab flyers soon, so what should I add on it to make them stand out?
>>8517920
you're on the right path so far
People who work in Silicon Valley are smart enough to proofread their own docs.
>>8517932
I get tons of inquiries; usually 15-20 documents a week.
Most don't even ask me to proofread. They usually inquire about resume building and general "jazzing-up" of their essays.
what does /lit/ think of House of Leaves?
>>8517883
I read it before I became a pseud but it felt like it was intentionally confusing and edgy to me. The Navidson Record parts of it I enjoyed, just not the main character's chapters.
If you read it as a satire/comedy then its a brilliantly funny book.
honestly, it's not a bad book. It's overly edgy and a little try hard but i felt the prose was pretty good and it really hammers it's point down aptly.
I do think it's kinda ridiculous Danielewski took 10 years to write this.
What's the most kafkaesque thing you can think of?
I'm thinking an apple peeler that only peels pears
>>8517879
A scrawny jew that died young before finishing his work

this desu, with Max Brod as The Country Doctor
What is the best memorization technique?
rote learning
Brief research tells me that the "method of loci" or "memory palace" is the best technique. Most people seem to agree that visualization is the best way to remember words. Is it the best?
>>8517725
Write what you want to remember on the back of your hand
What do you write with, /lit/? Pencil? iPad? MS Word? What about a typewriter?
This is a 1962 Brother Valiant I got two weeks ago. It is the first entry of the Japanese word processor & printer company.
This 1953 Smith-Corona Sterling 5A is what I've written most of my stuff with. It's a sturdy beast with a light but firm response good for both touch typing and hunt & peck.
>twothousandandsixteen
This is my best looking type writer. A 1949 Smith & Corona Silent is black enough to write a decent detective novel.
What do you have?
So you've matured and grown out of the "childish" idea of romantic love.
Is it worth it?
>>8517652
Pussy is love.
The childish idea of love is love as selfishness.
The mature idea of love is love as selflessness.
>>8517652
loving a woman so much that if she cheats on you you shoot her and her lover is so common that it is one of the main causes of homicide all over the world.
Worst book you have ever read
>pic very related
Was highly recommended to me by everyone. I should have known better. Only got about halfway through and it was worse than those fucking $1 harlequin romance novels.
>>8517625
Fuck, dropped pic.
T..thanks mom
why literature looks like crap?
I mean, books were used to look beautifull, were once done by hand and literally looked like works of art that were gifts to kings and costed fortunes.
I usually love to watch some scanned miniatures over the internet and shit.
even books after printing press were invented usually had illustrations done by old masters.
What happened to literature?
why books have to look like crap?
what happened to the visual experience books used to have?
I'm sure today someone who study both literature and graphic design could come with beautifull books.
is like cooking food without regards for the taste of it.
>>8517512
It's mass produced now. Blame capitalism
>>8517512
It's called comic books
Hope that helps
>>8517521
unless you count a medieval miniature as a comic, I don't see them as ones.
unless you take something like the voynich manuscript and call it a comic.
Has anyone ever written a novel about a shut-in NEET?
I wrote a short-story similar but he's in Uni. It's very cringe to read tho

Get your life together, you pathetic loser
Can the visual novel medium ever top normal literature?
The writer has much more artistic freedom when it comes to visual novels, and can determine mood and perception via sounds and music.
>>8517347
>Spoon feeding the audience is good
>>8517347
>writers can't use sound
But they can and do, do you think the word "crack" sounds the same as "smooth"?
