Who is your Greek mythology waifu and why?

Circe because I want her to turn me into a pig and make me eat her thick Greek bush like a slop trough.

How can I meet other literature enthusiasts? I fell for the STEM meme and am stuck at a uni with a bunch of people who would never even consider opening a novel. It pains me because I used to have a small circle of friends who were all fairly well read, we would talk about what we were reading and give each other recommendations and stuff. But I transferred and lost all that.
I'm in a fairly large city so I figure there must be literature groups, but how do I find them?

book clubs

Have there been any great works of art about the internet yet?
>>8512700
Only the ones we've made
You literally CANNOT write anything worthwhile about the internet if you are over 35 and/or do not strongly identify with any sub-cultural online communities, two conditions which nearly every worthwhile modern author meets
>>8512700
Not that I can think of, it evolves so fast that by the time you've finished a book it'll be significantly different.

Do stimulants like pic related help you read?
Also, are there any good books about ADHD? Apparently it is the most studied mental disorder.
That will give you brain damage
>>8512237
>most studied mental disorder
I really doubt this. I'm sure it's the mental disorder with the most "studies" about it, i.e. drug companies running dozens of studies and then publishing those with the most favorable outcomes so they can push their drugs on people because SCIENCE!
Methamphetamines will make you write a lot but it will be turgid. It improves motivation and focus but at the cost of creativity. For example, see Sartre's Being and Nothingness (which he reportedly wrote while blitzed on meth and espresso).
Stick to caffeine.

Does free will exist? Any books that deal with the subject?
There arent any.
Define free will before this thread turns into a mess
>>8510673
Free will is a meme, it doesn't exist and any pro free will argument boils down to "but it would be nicer and make me feel better if free will was real"
Was he autistic? I'm reading this right now, and I don't get why people call Lo a seductress when Hum's the one who acts like a literal autist. Lo's clearly not the bad guy here.
>>8510645
Humbert is a bad dude trying to make people think he's not a bad dude, by kind of admitting he's a bad dude. Lo is not a bad dudette. I don't think the "people" you mention exist.
people seriously do blame Lolita, apparently even paid critics (see also every other piece of media where the main dude is clearly meant to be a piece of shit, but people are either stupid or deplorable in the ways the character is so they idolize him like Wolf of Wall Street or Don Draper)

DUDE OBSCURE REFERENCES LMAO
,
So I just recently finished the Wheel of Time series and it's become my favorite fantasy series of all time (despite some of its faults). However I've been trying to get into man of Brandon Sandersons series with limited success. I've only somewhat enjoyed The Stormlight Archive but parts of it and Mistborn just haven't been able to draw me in like WoT did. It's like the story and language don't do it for me. If anyone could direct me to another series I would be appreciative.
I've also tried Terry Brooks and Terry Goodkind, Earthsea is also on my list.
>>8508379
Patrick Rothfuss's The Name of The Wind is pretty awesome. I've read a lot of Brandon Sanderson books but my favorite is still The Name of The Wind
>>8508379
Just read the fucking Worm Ouroboros godDAMN
>>8508379
Sanderson is a shit writer.
With the exception of the last 10 years, Terry Brooks was a great fantasy writer. Heritage of Shannara is GOAT epic fantasy series.
hey /lit/ what's your favorite ghost story?
pic related is mine. it has a spooky ghost that moves shit around on a high school campus and drugs his son and talks to a comatose recovering addict.
Holy shit wasn't a ghost it was the disembodied manifestation of the authorial intention - for the last fucking time.
Don't you know what 'metafiction' is?
>>8505943
no dude read the book again, i'm pretty sure it was a ghost
>>8505943
No, I agree with OP, it was def. a ghost. Besides it was a for real-real ghost in Hamlet already.
Who was the superior philosopher: Hegel or Nietzsche?
neetchee
>>8505897
Hegietzsche
Kamehameha
>>8505897
Hegel by far.
Absolute-tier philosopher.
Hegel refutes nihilism, Neechee is just "YOU CANNOT KNOW NUFFIN YOU CANNOT KNOW NUFFIN."
The useful bits of Nietzsche "man is an obstacle to be overcome" and such were already figured out by Hegel.
