>TFW you will never "get" literature and be able to enjoy love stories or books where the main theme is love/relationships related because you have zero experience with women.
>TFW you will never relate to any stories about alcohol and drugs because you have never smoked, and have had alcohol once.

We've been having these really mean threads recently. Where every poster essentially insults previous anon, quite harshly on that. Example of /lit/ conversation
>what is some good literature?
>guy posts war and peace
>but russian literature is all garbage
>no you, kill yourself
I've been on other boards since 2013 and I haven't seen kysses flying to eachother so frequently. Well, maybe /a/ is just as bad. What is it with you guys? Could it be that literature people are more neurotic than gamers etc?

Stupid frogposter making bad metathread.
Is this book better than 1984?
It's a lot deeper in my opinion because the world in the book is something that you could actually want, whereas 1984 is some interesting things about real life put into a setting that's just bleak and obviously bad from the start.
Both were garbage.
I'm aware they were satire, it doesn't make them good.

I'm sorry you had a hard time in high school concepts of literature
What book can convice someone that democracy is not the best form of government, but probably one of the worst?

has anyone else lost their childness? I was late to develop, but i remember thinking to myself, at 11 or 12 years old, ill never loose mmy sense of childness. and im 20, and its gone. ive never felt a sense of wonder or imagination in years. ive got a small glimpse at it when travelling and seeing a new environment. but ive never felt the same since childhood. how do i return to this state? what is some good literature to spark that since of wonder and curiosity and imagination that ive seen to have lost since puberty?

This poster isn't joking. Do you do drugs? try smoking weed once a week or something. That's one of the reasons I don't do it anymore, it makes me into too much of a child. But if that's ideal for you, weed/other light drugs in small doses might work for you.
I used to own a used bookstore. I see a few posts every now and then asking about /lit/ jobs or asking about where to find some weird rare books. I can probably answer some questions.
I don't know if there's any interest in this, but I'll give it a shot.
Properly rotated picture to show I mean business.

How does /lit/ choose to read their books?
Physical / New
Physical / Used
Ereader / Kindle/nook
Smartphone / Ereader app
Smartphone / Pirated
PC / Ereader app
PC / Pirated
Pic related, Im about to start reading The Stranger pirated on my smarthphone.
Kindle because
a) I'm poor
b) my fingers start to hurt if I have to read a fat book for a long time
c) I don't jerk off to my collection like half this board
>>8739699
Physical always. Used books or a library are alternatives if you don't have money.
>>8739699
Physical new. I'm pretty patrician that way. I will by used though I have a Kindle too, but it's just an inferior reading experience imho.
