Ausfag here, can anyone recommend some Australian literature that's any good? We are probably the least /lit/ country there is.

That's Brazil. Specially since we're right next to Argentina.

Might want to hold that praise because I live in Melbourne and it's as cucked as any "multicultural" European city.

What are the best books on absurdism/nihilism?

I'm talking like books that explain the ideas simply and clearly, not allude to them in a fictional story.

Lol, but seriously though, is a university the only place where I'll find books like this? Searching "nihilism" and "absurdism" in amazon only gives me meme results and retarded 2edgy4u pseudo bullshit that was written for art students and hipsters.

I need to write a paper about a 19th century philosopher, the reading of at least three primary books is obligatory. I want to do it about Nietzsche since he's not too hard (compared to Hegel or Schopenhauer, say) and I don't want to invest a lot of time in the reading itself. Figured my subject would be Nietzsche's critique of natural sciences and, in contrast, his conception of art as a 'sanctification of the lie'.
I read the Genealogy already so I'll definitely use it - for the connection of natural sciences with the ascetic ideal and to save time - and The Birth of Tragedy seems inescapable. Which other books of him should I read considering my subject?

Pic only related in a very implicit way.

If Pynchon is ever to give an interview in his lifetime, I can't help but think it would be with this man.

Your welcome.

I would hope so. I love Silverblatt, such a good reader. This interview is so damn good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLcwIu2m5F8
>>
>>8738697
Agreed. His interviews are phenomenal. He has some good ones with Anne Carson, David Wallace, and William Vollmann. He's got some interviews with Delillo which are good as well though I have a hard time listening to Delillo.

Silverblatt's interviews are so informative without being overly stuffy and academic. I'll watch this interview later, anon. I'm heading to a poetry reading in a bit.

In this Ernst Jünger develops a philosophy based on Stirner's 'Ego and it's Own'. Everyone who is interested in Stirner should check this out. Don't expect a conventional narrative though, this is essentially a narrative free novel, filled with the protagonist's reflection on life, power, society, the individual, history, philosophy, language and so on. It's very interesting to read, thought some of you guys may like it.

Setting is a town in north africa, i think. Plays in the future, though it's still somewhat hard to localize.

been meaning to read this, but i read on here that there's certain editions that cut a lot of stuff out. does anyone know what the best edition to get is. I'm leaning towards the penguins classic one because the cover design nice (pic related), so how much does edition actually matter?

How could this dense motherfucker get away with writing the way he did? Was writing bullshit considered to be academic activity/theorizing in the 60s? Was he another Jewish puppet used to undermine intellectual activity and make it look like a joke?

If any of us write like him, no one would ever fucking read us. How did this fraud find readership?

Seriously, fuck Derrida. Fuck him right in his nonsensical ass. And fuck Academia for forcing his down on us.

I distinctly remember reading Othello my sophomore year of high school (2006) and the phrase "put the horns on" has stuck with me ever since. In the same play I learned about crocodile tears. Shakespeare is the GOAT.

Read Marlowe or an Jacobean playwright and cuckolding( and puns on horns) is there in abundance

How the hell do you make this sound good in dactyilic hexameter? I don't understand this meter at all.

Can anyone explain this to me- how is it supposed to sound so that it's musical and "good"?

That is irrelevant. Tons of martial and folk music from lots of cultures, including a lot of country & western music from America, is based on the dactylic hexameter- LONG short-short. It's the galloping rhythm of a horse at a steady trot.

Has anyone read this book and can recommend me books similar to it? Thanks

The shitposting certainly is a waste of time, but it enjoys me.
However I also use this to propagate my ideas or other's ideas that came from books or the books themselves.

I also take breaks from reading, not always in the mood for it.
