Why don't we see more instances of gatling guns being mounted on ground-based fighting vehicles? This Chinese light armored vehicle has a 30mm gatling gun. Why doesn't the USA make a Stryker variant with a GAU-13/A to counter it? Seems like it would be a perfect fit. But more generally, why aren't gatling guns more popular for IFV's and such? Just imagine the psychological impact that such a vehicle would have on the opposition.

Wheeled apc's are not combat vehicles
>>29122432
Then why is the US army up-gunning all the Strykers with 30mm and Javelins?
>>29122509
In what situation would you need the higher RPM?
Do you guys have the rest of these?
Hickock go to bed, we know you have a sponsor from federal.
There's ammo tier lists?
>>29122409
I have shot hundreds of perfecta 7.62x51 and never had an issue with accuracy or errors when compared to federal, or any other, standard m80 ball ammo.
Met a girl at college, and she seems pretty cool. Likes the outdoors and art. Pretty cool girl. She's asked me about what I'm into and we've been on a few dates. I told her I'm really into shooting as a hobby. She said "Oh, I've never shot a gun before.". When I said I could take her out sometime she said "I'd love to but I'm kind of afraid of guns. I DON'T HATE THEM OR ANYTHING!, I'm just worried I'd hurt myself or someone else by accident if I was ever handed one."
I told her that if she ever was up for it, I'd love to take her. I didn't want to push it because pushing anything gun related usually doesn't go well.
Don't plan on bringing it up until we go on a few more dates/actually become an exclusive thing, but when it does happen (Good feeling about this one) how do I ease her fear of guns? She seems like she's willing to learn, but she's kind of ridden with anxiety about trying all sorts of things (Took her hiking last week and she was hesitant to walk up to edge of 140 foot cliff drop), and guns are no different for her.
>>29122379
You have to ease the idea into her first ;^)
>>29122379
Start small OP.
Get her to enjoy the target shooting aspect first, then the curiosity of larger guns will come naturally over time.
Just don't hand her a .45 or some large caliber, If she's already nervous about It, then scaring her will surely ruin your chances of turning her to the dark side.
>>29122454
fuck off lol
Thinking of getting a Nagant Revolver. Took a stroll through Wikipedia but does anyone have any personal experience with it? Is it worth it?
>>29122369
Heavy trigger, prone to misfires, ammo is kinda pricey, and inaccurate as fuck. Perfect for removing fascists. Get one if you're looking for some historic value and they are fun to shoot. Being able to add a suppressor is a plus
I have shoot two separate one. Its a cool little gun. the action is little unique. its worth getting one for like the 50 dollars that were paid for the ones I shoot. Go to a place with a whole case and sort threw many to find one that seems the best,
as a gun its a pile of shit
as a mechanical novelty its worth whatever amount you are willing to pay
My local gun range got closed down today.

>your range is polluting with lead
>okay we'll raise rates to pay for the lead cleanup
>NOT GOOD ENOUGH FUCK YOU
I feel sick to my stomach

guess your club should have fixed its fucking issues before polluting the earth we stand on and the water we drink.

My fellow lefties, what guns do you carry? Do you find it necessary to use a slide release? How do you like them?
I want my first handgun to be a Sig P250 subcompact:
>Ambi slide release
>Reversible magazine release
> $400 >
But I've seen a few anons on here say that their shit, but everything I've read and seen on youtube are to the contrary?
>>29120497
It's a slide catch. If you use it out of competition, you're a cuck.
>literally anything but a Glock
>even the gen4s are reversible if you're too autistic to use your index finger
I use my index finger to drop the magazine on most pistols I own. I also rack the slide instead of using the slide release.
Carry a SIG P232 so a safety isn't an issue either.
>>29120497
Based Ian carries a Glock.
What first aid kit do you carry? Had an ifak in the 'Stan but is that the best option for my shtf load. Are there better options? All this in a scenario where our group Doc makes it to the ORP.
>>29120421
Your going to die of sepsis even if they do get the bullet out of you. Infection risks are very very high if you do not have access to higher medical care. We have sterile OR rooms, and all this technology, we even have sterile gauze and sterile everything prepackaged for our emergency health services as well, and somehow we still spend billions of dollars on sepsis and other such infections yearly. If you have limited funds for SHTF focus it somewhere else. If you want a trauma kit for all sorts of scenarios not just SHTF there are a variety but they all have the same basic stuff. You need to ask yourself what your level of training is and what role you are willing to have. I tend to think an AID bag is more useful to have in my car than a full blown multi person trauma kit.

I like Med pouches where all the items are on a "card" held in by bungee/shock cord, and that card can freely go in and out of the pouch. I then attach some paracord to the card and the actual pouch so just ripping the "card" out doesn't cause me to lose my supplies if i have to move while treating. However, I am a paramedic and am the assigned "medic" for the loosely formed squad of guys I shoot with. As such i carry more than just an IFAK
nigga get some shit to treat cuts and sprained ligaments. if you get shot you are done.
Hey guys, I'm trading my SP101 4.2" for one of these guns I think. I'm leaning towards the Sig because there's a lot more parts for it probably, should something break. I traded a .45 for the SP101 so I'm looking to trade up for another .45.
The S&W is more interesting and cooler, but I don't know that it's worth $550 whereas the Sig is probably worth $550 even in worn condition. The sig is a W. German for what it's worth and comes with 3 Mags.
Which would you trade for, and do you think the Sig is worth $600 in its current condition?
Get the SIG.
>>29120395
is the pic the actual guns in question or just pics off the internet?
>>29120512
Nah, actual pics from the guys.
There's a small company in Florence, South Carolina that is going to start making the AutoMag again, in a slightly modified form. It's called the AutoMag X and will be chambered for the .44 AMP catridge.

>>29119913
hopefully it shows up in deathwish 6
>>29119913
Neat. I wonder if these are Gera's improvements or something else entirely.
I know a crusty old fudd who owns one, and I have to say its a better shooter than it looks. Also, aren't there carbine conversions for these?
Would be interested if the price is reasonable.
Automag is still one of the sexiest pistols ever.
I enlisted in the marines in 2010. My first 2 years I was a SAW gunner. After that my unit completely phased out the SAW for the m27. I hate the fucking thing. No more belt fed weapons organic to my squad. Expect IAR gunners to carry 22 magazines. Do you guys think the Marine Corps fucked up by phasing out the SAW?
>>29119153
I was okay with the idea when I heard they were just using them as an excuse to have automatic rifles in the squad...but if they're outright replacing SAWs...just why.
>>29119205
Some units still have some SAWs left. But my squad went from 13 guys with 3 SAWs between them, to 13 guys with 3 iars
if surefire 60s weren't pieces of shit it would make sense
Whats /k/'s opinion on pot smoking and firearm ownership? Personally I don't have any issue with smoking, I smoked a lot in my younger years and besides the fact that I became a lazy piece of shit while smoking, I was no worse for wear. As I've gotten older though, I feel like the federal legislation on pot is way to punishing for me to ever risk being in a situation where I had to explain why I had THC in my system when I shot a home invader or other worst case scenarios.
My older brother has recently taken an interest to firearms and plans on getting a CCW soon. Today he told me how he went out and shot with some buddies and how he had so much fun smoking and shooting. I tried to explain my point of view to give him and share my perspective as to why it is risky and even dangerous to be smoking and shooting, or even having both guns and pot in your house at all. He ended up pulling the I'm of superior intelligence/experience because muh age: "lol dude cops around here dont care, No cop is ever going to bust me for having pot in my system if I have to fire. You're just paranoid."
Is he right? I feel like in the aftermath of a life or death scenario, even having pot in your bloodstream could be used against you in both criminal and civil court.
Thought /k/?
>>29118981
The same I have with drinking and firearms ownership.
Absolutely none.
However I do have a problem with the people who tend to smoke pot.
I've known a good number (five, ten, plus the countless homeless people who've smoked pot that I knew) and I wouldn't want them fucking with firearms.
They tend to be extrem poor white trash, have problems controlling urges such as anger or not getting up and beating that guy who just looked at you funny senseless, and they also tend to be abrasive assholes.
In essence, it's not the item I dislike, it's the community surrounding it.
It is a dumb idea to get high and play with weapons. You can forget things. You're more mistake and accident prone. Even very smart people will have absent minded fuckups when stoned. This is okay if you're playing scrabble or shitposting on the internet. It is very bad if you're at the range or practicing knife throwing technique.
It is also a violation of the constitution to confiscate the weapons of people who happen to have pot in their homes. Everyone who's ever confiscated a firearm from a non-violent drug offender should be sent to prison for ten years.
My brother isnt really the violent type when he smokes, but he is pretty immature. He's the type of guy who thinks he knows everything because he looked it up on google, without any real basis to act pompous. Once he decides he knows the ins and outs of an issue, there isn't any other answer or point of view.
He is a single dad and has a lot to lose if shit really did go worst case scenario. The thought of him actively carrying and smoking is a terrible fucking idea to me
Hey K, I mostly lurk here and probably have a pretty good idea oh what I might be getting, but I want to get my very first Assault Riffle. I live in California, if this makes a dif.
Budget is $700, will this get me anything of quality?
Any suggestions?
>>29117453
you are going to have to assemble one
700 bucks will not get you a complete ar worth buying in any gunstore in california thanks to inflated prices
buy all the parts off the internet go to a store for a stripped receiver. you will overpay on the reciver but this is nothing compared to overpaying on a complete gun
>>29117616
Thanks for the reply anon. I will have to look into that then!

This man speaks the truth. Buy a complete upper and piece together the lower.
I'm going to make some wax slugs today, but I'm scared of my gun going off in my fucking face. Anyone have any experience with wax slugs or tips to make them not blow up my gun in my fucking face?

The wax isn't hot enough to set off the powder or primer.
Use a Double boiler the wax, heating the wax is the most dangerous process.

I made about ten or 15 last year.
Was gonna use them as target ammo before hunting season. Decided to use slugs instead. I still have them.
So bump for interest.
They seem safe. taofledermaus fires them all the time and swears by them.
