What's the fastest and smallest missile you can hit with one of these things?

Aircraft carrier bro here. They're shit. Ive seen tests where they have trouble hitting a slow flying target plane
>>
The Phalanx Close-in Weapons System has a stunning record of killing 2 USN personnel, injuring 6, damaging friendly ships, destroying friendly aircraft and performing zero actual enemy engagements.

That should tell you how effective they are. Fucking garbage.
>>
>>29091699
To be fair, there is that part about zero actual engagements. They've never preformed in actual combat. And the C-RAM system, which is basically a land based Phalanx had about a 65% chance to intercept any given projectile, which isn't that bad all things considered.

Just bought an AR rifle for the first time in 10 years. Researched a lot and got a Troy CQB SPC A3. My budget was $1,000 and that had to include sights, mags, cleaning kit, and ammo. Bought a set of Magpul MBUS sights, 3 Magpul gen 2 mags with window, Otis 3 gun cleaning kit with, and 300 rds of American Eagle 5.56. Total for everything was $978.54. How'd I do?

Looks like you didn't do enough research. Regardless, building will generally always be cheaper than buying for the same features.
>>
>>29091563
You spent 500$ more than needed, but i'm sure it's an ok rifle.
>>
>>29091563
Could be worse, you could have bought a troy

So /k/, I went down to my local Cabela's recently and this was the only 54r I could find. At all.

What is going on? I expected maybe a little jump in price from the sanctions, but now I can't find milsurp at all. And these prices are absolutely unreasonable.

What do?

PSA don't buy reloaded ammo from freedom munitions. Short story short: bought 500 rounds, out of 4 shots, 2 rounds exploded in the chamber.

Short story long: I bought 500 rounds of their remanufactured .223 ammo for my ar. Went out for some fun Saturday shooting, and after loading all my magazines, we started shooting. First two shots fired without incident and then the third had an excessive amount of smoke come out and got the bcg stuck. Pulling the charging handle did nothing, it was lodged. Had to slam the butt of my rifle into the ground until it finally got unstuck. The casing had expanded and blew the primer out. Checked the barrel for damage, everything clear. Everything else seemed fine so I assumed i just got unlucky with one bad round or maybe a bad batch. I got a different mag with a different box of the ammo and the first shot blew up in the chamber again, locking the bcg again, only this time blowing out my mag (expanding it, dumping the ammo on the ground), fucking up the extractor (and possibly the rest of the bcg) and somehow damaging my muzzle brake. Needless to say, I have 496 rounds of ammo I have no confidence in and an AR with who knows what possible damage. Fortunately no one was hurt (unless you consider getting booty blasted an injury). Also, that round thing in the pic fell out of the bcg when I removed the firing pin though I'm not sure if that was actually what fell out or it was just what I found on the floor when looking for the thing that fell out. I have no idea where it would fit in the bcg.

I just sent them an email prior to this post. Doubt they'll respond until Monday. First time and probably last time ever buying reloaded ammo for me though.

I've shot plenty of freedom munitions .223 without a problem.

>>
because i can intercept them with my ruger ya fucking ruskie.
>>
>>29086434
when they stopped being designed to intercept bombers?
>>
>>29086434
Because interceptors were a sub-category of fighter aircraft that lost usefulness with the end of the Cold War.

Back when the AWB was in place you couldn't have a milspec BCG because it allows for FA fire with an auto sear.

hey guys sorry for the noobie question.

im buying magazines for my wifes little .380 cobra (P.O.S.)

never bought mags for a handgun before and i need to ask...
do i have to match the manufacturer and the caliber?
or just the caliber and it should all fit?

thanks for the help

>>
>>29084481
All 380 mags are universal as long as the round count is the same. Flock 42 mags are really good.

Don't listen to this guy, he's just joking. Also, get a different fucking pistol for her. Cobras belong in the dustbin.
