What's the highest strength bodyarmor I can wear covertly to protect myself from attacks like those in Belgium today?

keep in mind that many body armors are designed to stop bullets, not shrapnel.
that being said, I'm guessing you could go with a soft armor vest rated IIIa like>>29347222
said with a slot for a plate in it already so you have that as an option. IIIa should be capable of stopping anything short of an intermediate rifle caliber (like 5.56).
Just remember that soft armor is pretty shit against anything sharp, you can stab through them without much trouble. They're good at stopping things with lots of energy.

Got a call off my dad today, said that after what has happened in Brussels today, he wants to get a firearm to protect the family in case kebab goes full jihad. As you know, this country is fucking full of kebab. So i want to help him out.
Now, I'm not gonna say i know anything serious about firearms, but i have had an interest in them for a very long time, and can safely say that my parents are within the FAC guidelines for a semi-auto 22LR rifle.
Their house has land, with what would qualify as "vermin" (foxes & rabbits). On top of that, the house is surrounded by fields that are owned by a farmer who is good friends with my dad, so incase the "pest control" reason isnt enough, we still have legitimate reason to own a firearm for target shooting on his land.
My problem is, I know fuck all about 22LR Firearms. So I ask if you glorious Murrcans can redpill me on the best and safest 22LR rifles and ammunition.
Topic of 22LR is freely up for debate too, the more info the better. Thanks guys, I'll be here for a couple of hours.

AK build update 80% done
The list of modifications is longer than I feel like typing.
Short version everything has been reworked greatly. Everything is super tight, No wobble when firing even with butt extended.
Dust cover had to be made from sheet steal from scratch. I needed a super positive fit. Milled rail to perfectly fit. The optic has 0 wobble. No after market solution worked for me for how i wanted it set up.
So part is impossible to buy.
Reworked mag release and machined parts to drop mag with lever that is used with pointer finger. My own design. Its works with any mags unlike the current shitty ones on the market. Feels like an AR system now.
Before you say "cheep this or after market that" All parts have had very heavy modifications made to them.
Why buy $150 parts when i am going to hack into them and rework them. Yes even the optic has been reworked for stability.
Going to say about 30 hours machine time total weight saving so far is about a 1/4.
I had about 30 things I want to improve, fix or change all together about the AK platform.
Paint is not sanded and buffed so finial look isnt done. But not sanding buffing and polishing till i am done with changes.

And yes the final rework is going to be the butt. When you take all the flex and wobble out of a under folder it hurts like hell after a 100 rounds or so. The flex did alot more then I realized to buffer the recoil.

Won't the dust cover wobble when attached to the weapon? Why not make the rail longer and bolt into the rear side base instead of sitting on something removable? I mean you could still have the optic sit back that far and have it stable.
