Won't the dust cover wobble when attached to the weapon? Why not make the rail longer and bolt into the rear side base instead of sitting on something removable? I mean you could still have the optic sit back that far and have it stable.

Dust cover mounted optics generally don't hold zero. Plus what optic is that? It looks like a cheap walmart optic you find for 65 bucks.

No I 100% deal with and fixed this problem. By making a 100% custom part. Its been test and was still spot one after 100 rounds. The normal dust covers are too lose and do not even come close to the fit required.

Cant even force a razor blade between dust cover and the receiver. It uses a positive snap so can only be taken off with a button

no you cnc a block flip it and cnc the other side you do it in hundreds of steps then you sand smooth. Same way i do round over guitar bodies. Its kinda like CNC 101 stuff.

Mine is mostly used for wood but it can do aluminum just find with the 1/8 carbide bit i have i just set up a oil drop for lube and as long as i dont mind waiting 7 hours i can make about anything from blocks. I got a 40 inch by 40 inch cutting space and can got 8 inches of z. So a basic dust cove is not really a problem because i could give a shit about wasted metal.

There's a Russian company that makes milled dust covers with rails already incorporated - Russian SOF use them to mount Western optics and seem to have no issues with them.
Of course, this might mess with your 922.R compliance.
