I have a nearly brand new M&P Shield 9mm. Working on getting CCW and after doing research and trying out many different compacts and subcompacts, I settled on this.
problem is, the slide sometimes stops short. Usually when chambering a round. I have cleaned and lubricated (according to the manufacturer guidelines, no more, no less.) Fired 250 rounds through it with no issues, different types of ammo. and taken it back to the shop where I purchased from where they could not readily duplicate the issue.
My question is, am i being too paranoid? obviously it is not affecting the function of the weapon, and this only occurs when not using much force to either let the slide spring back on its own, or forcing it back forward when chambering (something I do not do.)
thanks for the help /k/ I'm not new to weapons, but this is my first handgun purchase.

here's another shot of issue
A similar thing happens to me when I incorrectly reassemble my P938 and M70A. Look online for a detailed disassembly/reassembly video online and see if theres something you're doing wrong. There is a chance though that this is a result of Shit & Wizzing's recent horrible quality control however.
>>30513696
Can you replicate the issue without a magazine inserted?
Is it still happening after the 250 round break-in?
Could be excess plastic that just had to get shaved off by shooting it.

What sks variant do you have? Why is it superior to other variants? Sks thread too I guess
>>30513497
LMAO a picture of gross feet. How did you come up with that?
>>30513497
Looks a bit like my shotgun
>>30513542
Those are a pair of working man's feet.
Lost all my handguns lads. What should I get to restart?
Also budget up to 1500 if need be
>>30514528
Just make a first handgun recommendation thread like the rest of the noguns.
>>30514543
But im not a noguns I just ended up losing all my handguns.
Hello /k/omrades, I'm back again, same rules.
I'll dump the few that are in the running.
>>Has to be PG-13

So I've been reading about how to make your own pepper spray for reasons and I was wondering if anyone else has had success? I mainly want to do it so I can include a couple.. ingredients that are special. Chiefly, urushiol. I found a way to extract it from poison ivy using ethanol (which is also the base of many peppersprays). So, I would infuse a basic pepper spray mix of ethanol, capsasin, and propylene glycol with the urushiol.
See, some pepper sprays have dye added to make the subject identifiable, but this would be more of an extra 'fuck you' for the person sprayed that will last a few weeks.
Thoughts?
>>30513023
anyone?
Or you could put some hot sauce in a squirt gun for less than half the time and money.
>>30514492
But I want them to suffer for a few weeks. And what is expensive? You can make a bottle of pepperspray for like $2 and to extract urushiol you just need a few ounces of everclear and poison ivy....
Why are local gun stores so ridiculous? I don't know if it's just my area but it's like they don't want to sell guns they act like you know everything and their blowhards. Does anyone have this similar experience?
>>30512681
Not really. Only thing I hate about my local stores is the prices are higher than what I can find online. Not normally by much, but by enough to moan about it.
>>30512732
That is one beautiful weapon.
>>30512742
And retardedly expensive for what it is.
Yet I want one.
Why aren't we using superior hillbilly camouflage instead of multicam?
I understand that it would suck in the desert but having a 1 pattern fits all is exactly why UCP was such a 5 billion dollar fiasco
>>30511765
you posted a fucking thread for this?
>>30511765
Multicam is a good one size fits all, especially when you are talking about gear other than uniforms such as pouches, armor, and packs which can't be quickly swapped out.
Multicam provides a neutral base camoflague, much in the same way USMC uses flat brown gear. The uniforms in multicam/W2 work good enough in any environment to at least be a passable stopgap until theater specific uniforms get issued.
>>30511765
because there are no retired generals working in the hillbilly camo companies
get a former commandant "working" for RealTree and you'll see it within a few years
hi guys, so me and the lads are going on a camping trip and i feel uncomfortable wearing real military camo because of stolen valor and shit
so can you guys give me recommendations on good non military camo
>>30511280
i thought stolen valor was just having pins and nametags and obviously pretending to be in or to have been in the mil
>>30511280
Eh I wear my dads old woodland BDU's that have our last name, as long as it doesn't have rank stiched and shit you should be fine
yeah, also if anyone asks you if you are in or were in the mil dont fuckin try to bullshit them and just say no.
easy.
Virtual Battlespace Simulator
Are these videos used for training purposes or just so the military can prepare their own version of events? I doesn't seem to excel at either.

Dude in the back is freaking me out.
>>30510441
I-is that arma 2 animations/styles, with these fucking retarded 3d models? And it seems they made this weird badly made map instead of just using the regular arma 2 ones.
>also fucking saved topkek
>>30510513
Guess it is, this version at least. I was expecting some cut and dry military recreation but the cut scenes are so bad they're funny.

For naval warfare (aka ignore nuclear triad purposes) how do subs fare in modern naval forces?
In other words, what kind of gap is there between ASW and submarines themselves? How much trouble would a carrier group have against some submarines?
>>30508738
depends on the submarine, depends on ships, depends on the sea.
Fairly dated submarines (mid cold war) can be very effective if they can be positioned well with favourable sea conditions.
Even the best submarines will fail to succeed if they end up in a tail chase in unfavourable sea conditions.
broadly speaking submarines are probably the biggest threat to modern surface forces.
Had great success in the Falklands War, effectively making the Argentine navy null void for the duration of the conflict posting sinking of the ARA General Belgrano.
>>30508738
Two types of ships: Subs and targets. I kek'd the first time I heard it. Was in RIMPAC '96. MFW it turned out to be true. Squadron (SUBRON 7) building halls are full of pics from periscopes. so close to an aircraft carrier that you could recognize individual sailors.
Spook is back edition.

pretty good
>shitty picture of my meme rail
Really nice, and definitely lighter than my diamondhead was, by about 5oz I think.
iirc it's 19.7oz for the diamondhead vs 14.6 for the geissele.

Cool i like the MRO and AM mounts a lot
>also I'm getting a SCOTT BA for no reason other then im autistic about safety gear and found a good price on one
I just asked my sister how a gun works and I am astounded.
>apparently to her the power of a bullet comes from the gun directly
>there is a spring that pushes the bullet forward
>there is no gunpowder in modern guns, only old ancient guns
>its a spring powerfull enough to break the soundbarrer
>she is 22 years old
>mfw anytime she has seen a gun in her life she thinks it goes off by a ridiculously powerfull spring

Are you surprised? She's a millennial Female.

you should educate her

what's a good/reliable home defense shotgun for under $800 /k/? do I need to go with a higher budget than that?
don't care if it's pump or semi-auto and recoil isn't an issue
>>30514278
Get a Mossberg 500 for $300 and spend the rest on ammo and aftermarket
>>30514306
this.
mossy 500 will take any beating you can give it. unless you insist on semi auto or something this is the best option
>>30514278
if you like patching huge holes in your drywall then sure
just get a carbine and hollow points to cut down on collateral damage
What are some good /k/ books to read?
Shit similar to pic related for bonus points
It's breddy gud
Bumping. Anyone read the Tomorrow, When the War Began series? I saw the first movie and I liked it so I'm considering picking it up but just wondering if anyone else has read it.
>>30505199
I remember reading the book at some point while in school (like, 4 years ago maybe).
I remember it being pretty good but idk how much it got /k/ stuff right
