South Korea is known to be close to exporting the K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzer to Finland.
Military authorities of the two nations plan to carry out a performance test in Finland this week and sign a memorandum of understanding on the export. The two sides are said to be planning to sign a formal pact at the beginning of next year.
The size of export for 48 used K9s and the transfer of maintenance technology is known to be valued at 400 million dollars.
The K9, which has a maximum range of 40 kilometers, is one of South Korea's core weapons. Some 900 of them are deployed in South Korea's northwestern islands bordering the North and elsewhere. The weapons played a key role when North Korea shelled the South's Yeonpyeong Island in the Yellow Sea in 2010 and have been exported to Turkey and Poland

Hello /k/. I'm writing an action scene for a tv show and it has got parts that I have no way of testing myself, so I'm doing research.
I'll start with tl;dr and then expand on it.
1st tl;dr what happens if a bullet hits a rifle magazine? Does it burst? Does it bend? Does it get torn out of the rifle?
2nd tl;dr what happens if you shoot at a grenade? Does it get thrown away by the impact? Does it explode? Does it matter if it's shaped like a tube like M84 or if it's a classic pineapple like Mk 2? They seem to be thick enough and light enough to just be thrown away.
The scene is urban. MC grabs the rifle from one the thugs in a close quarters engagement. He's not properly equipped, no holsters or vest or gloves (this is important), but he's got a spare magazine. So he gets into cover around the corner and is shooting back, kinda like pic related, but I can't find the exact stance. A stray bullet hits his magazine in the rifle. Now I see it as a flashy image. The magazine bursts into plastic splinters sending bullets and parts of spring flying everywhere. The upper part with sharp edges is still in the gun and MC goes to change it without looking. He cuts his fingers on it and doesn't realize it right away because of the adrenaline. Then he notices it, but still powers through to get the broken mag out and put the fresh one in.
Now, obviously not all guns will do, because you don't have to grab M4's mag to get it out and you probably won't find a SCAR-H on a thug in ghetto. So I'm thinking AK. Now what would happen to a classic metal magazine as opposed to newer ones?

Sometimes I LARP as an advisor to other LARPers so I'm going to help. If a bullet hits a magazine, it probably won't work anymore because the spring will be fucked or the rounds will be stuck. Basically shooting a magazine puts a hole in it. If you shoot a grenade pretty much the grenade won't work anymore because it will have a hole in it.
If your Master of Ceremonies grabs a rifle from a thug and a bunch of things that make no sense continue happening up to the point where the Master of Ceremonies realizes he has a cut finger. It's possible that there will be blood all over the gun and magazine making it slippery to hold or the Master of Ceremonies may need to grab a band-aid. What was the race of the thug? Is he Irish?

Got no idea for grenades, but if a magazine gets hit close to the feed lips the spring pushes all remaining rounds out. Lower than that and you get a stuck magazine.
If you're extra unlucky it might set off a round or two, but the biggest risk you'd face from that is the heat.

I would honesty say to stay away from Mosins now unless you were serious about collecting milsurp. Not only have the guns doubled in price the past year or so, but surplus ammo is drying up as well. Commercial x54R runs about the same as .308, and decent bolt guns can be had for just as much as Mosins are going for now.
So if you actually pan on using this rife regularly or to hunt or for anything other than plinking really, it makes more sense to just get a modern gun as they will be more accurate and much easier to maintain.
