I'm looking at buying a new set of eyepro/shades and need some opinions...
I want to get a set of Oakley frames with their Prizm shooting lens, but which frame has the most replacement lenses available for it currently? I'm thinking the Flak 2.0 XL, but how well do those for under earpro? (I'm worried about how well it seals) And I don't really like MFrames because I want to wear them also not at the range... And general shooting safety equipment thread. Talk about earpro/earpro/stories of people doing stupid shot related to safety.

>>32092569
And a prick is present, would you look at that?
>>32092558
To be fair, the SI M-Frames don't look too bad. The black ones don't look gaudy and since the lens shape is different, they don't look like the standard M-Frames almost at all. They fit really well under electronic earpro and helmets too.
$40 a lens is too damn expensive though.
Any veterans here? I wanna thank you for your service
Thank you for your support. It's rare to see these days.

I'll say I was surprised to find out that I got paid in Basic and tech school. I was just honored being there.
What do I need to know about subj if I want to use it as a weapon and live in EE so the blade can't be any longer than 9 cm?
Also: why aren't all knives double-edged? They seem to be supposed to be sharpened only on one side. Surely, it's not nearly as effective as having both sides sharpened?
>>32092828
Umm, one side is thick to give blade strength. Jesus Christ you fucking moron.
My roommate bought me a 7 round magazine tube for my birthday, wrongly assuming that it would fit on my 88 Mavericks 28'' barrel. Turns out a 20'' in the only barrel where the tube mount is placed far enough back for a 7 round tube.
I would like to upgrade from the 5 round mag tube, but to me its not worth giving up the 28'' barrels full choke and sight rib. Would it be safe to just cut its tube mount out of the way, install the 7 round magazine tube, and then brace everything with 2-3 of those shotgun magazine tube clamps you see on Midway? My fear is that any cutting will reduce the structural integrity of the barrel since it is a single cast piece of metal.
>>32092096
20in barrel length will have the same shot pattern as a 28in
>>32092096
those shotgun mag clamps keep the magazine from rotating they wont stop a barrel from flying forwards
just have him return it its worthless to you
>>32092096
The Maverick 88/Mossberg 500 cannont except magazine extensions because of the way the barrel mounts. Only the 590 can have magazine extensions.

Post your gun fail stories
home, range, innawoods, innastan
>be me this morning
So I went over to my mom and stepdads house
looked at his gun collection to see what i can him in terms of gun upgrades for the holidays he opens the safe he showing me his guns
clearing them i check out a glock 27, kimber 1911, sig something or other
i hand back the sig, he loads a mag, racks the slide, and then tries to decock the hammer
fired off a fucking round into his safe
my ears still ringing and i caught ricochet to my shoulder
>neat
>showing friend new gun
>he wants to see how it disassembles
>Point gun down range, pull slide, drop magazine, gun is clear
>Proceed to then muzzle sweep him without even noticing it until I take it apart
I felt like an idiot all day after.
>>32091941
Dont most sigs have decockers
>>32092574
>gun is clear
>giving a shit about muzzle sweeps after it's been cleared
Stop being a fucking autist. It's locked back, it's not going to summon a round from the magazine ON THE TABLE and magically load it, close the slide, then shoot your friend
God, so fucking stupid.
I'm buying an AR or AK as soon as the prices drop. What are some things I should know about them maintenance-wise before purchasing?
>>32091920
Lurk more imo
>>32091920
Also youtube.

>as soon as the prices drop
Uhhh... AR's have been absurdly cheap for a couple of years now. What do you want? A $250 AR?
Can we have a gif/webm /k/ related thread? I lost all of mine, looking for more to save
I never come to this board, but I decided this could be a good start. I'm looking for my first self defense weapon to have at my house, but I don't know anything about guns or weapons in general honestly. I don't really have a price limit, I just want to make sure I can stay safe. Any recommendations for someone as new as me? idk what other information I would need to give, but I just need some help to start my search.

Do you live alone?
Do you live in an apartment complex or a standalone house?
Are you fully physically able? (i.e. no deformities, disabilities, etc)
Have you ever shot a gun before?
Would you have proper space to store a long gun?
If you don't know anything, then I'd suggest looking around your local area for a basic weapons course. Expect to pay between $100-$200. They'll teach you basic safety, weapon function, and laws regarding your area, and there will probably be a live-fire exercise. It's money well spent if you know nothing, and you don't personally know anyone who can teach you to shoot and handle firearms.

I live alone, in a standalone house. I have no disabilities. I've shot a gun once before, forgot what it was though, I just remember it was some pistol. I have a decent amount of space to store bigger guns.

bongs need to take a good, hard fucking look at this mess. They need to look at the mistakes and what went wrong with the Zumwalt, and literally try their best not to do the exact same thing the US has done. Or, their Type 26's and 31's might end up being the exact same failure the Zumwalt is.
>>32091777
Have the crews been trained in proper maintenance yet?
This could be a case of negligence.

Are you a stoner
Hi /k/, germanfag here.
Starting next year i'm getting my hunting license and a hunting rifle, most likely a 98 or a CZ in .308. Which optics are any good for shooting from a deer stand? Distance is 300m at max.
Are there significant differences between a 700€ Nikon scope and a 2000€ Zeiss?
To be honest...you don't need to spend a ton of money on a scope for shooting durr out of a stand. Pretty much anything that holds a zero from the recoil, and has enough light transmission will work (modern glass is awesome too).
>>32091693
you dont need to drop 2k on a zeiss for nailing deer in the woods. Shit, a 250 euro vortex diamondback will do you just fine.
which brands would you generally recommend?
>the gun is always loaded
>>32091546
Which gun?
>>32091546
all mine are.
>>32091546
I swear so many people fucking make fun of this cardinal rule but it's true.
Once I field stripped my 1911 and in the middle of cleaning the frame, it went off and killed me.
Don't forget to check your frames for any rounds in the chamber.
> what's your opinion on the best survival knife?
I'm trying to find the best knife to go ten days in the bush, hiking, hunting, camping. Want to take as little as possible, so a utilitarian knife would be ideal. Just don't know what to buy....
Whatever knife is your favorite. Don't go for gimmicky shit
honestly if I can red pill you on the survival knife market, a survival knife is really just a sharp piece of steel and pretty much any knife can do
you can save a ton of money by buying one of these cheap chinese knives and use the rest of your money on other supplies
>>32091233
Well that's just it, I only ever buy cheap ones so I can use and abuse. But the edge wears. The metal chips. So I'm willing to spend as long as it will last.
