Is chinese type 55 destroyer most powerful warship?
Though some specifications especially radar and sensors aren't disclosed, Zumwalt doesn't seem any better than Type 55 except stealth.
>>33035115
No.
Next retarded question?
The important stuff is not told to you by those stats
Like will it burn to the water line & sink if hit
If it can intercept inbound missiles
And if its radar is good enough to spot F-35's, or if its missiles are good enough to shoot them down
13000 ton ship with a 280 crew sounds a little wonky too
>>33035115
>Is chinese type 55 destroyer most powerful warship?
Yes. You can't find a single warship that can go one on one with a type 55.
How hard should you grip your handgun? should it be a firm handshake, or should you cling onto it for dear life?
I'm not talking about the ratio between your support hand and strong hand either. I'm talking about overall.
>>33035030
Enough that you can control it from recoil and not have it limp wrist.
>>33035030
You don't want it too hard. You'll torque the firearm around a lot while shooting, and make trigger control difficult. That said, you don't want it to be so loose to the point that it vacates your hands.
It kind of depends what kind of shooting you're doing. Fast follow up shots will require a tighter grip to help combat recoil, slow long range shooting needs a looser grip to cut down on swaying, and allow for more precise trigger control.
i barely just hold onto it with my finger tips when shooting, it gives me the best over all hold on the gun, and i feel like i have full control.
Not sure who else to ask but I have recently found a passion for CNC manufacturing. I think what I most enjoy about it is the precision and accuracy i must achieve in every product that comes out of my mill or lathe.
So far I have been using coworkers and shop measuring instruments but I really would like to buy my own. Brown & Sharpe and Mitutoyo look to be the best of the best of the best, with honors, but unfortunately my budget won't allow for such high quality... yet.
What would /K/ consider good entry level machinst quality measurement tools. I use things like Micrometers, Calipers Bore Gages and depth gauges.
cant help, but interested. sorry.

Appreciate it, Juts for fun heres a list of some of the neat machines I get to use daily.
Hass VF-2SS Vertical Mill
Johnford SL-500 Lathe
Doosan Lynx 220LMS 4 Axis Mill /Turn, Twin Spindle
I have personally been on these machines but there are plenty more i look forward to learning. Also made titanium nuts from hex stock on some very old machines.
>>33034750
ask /diy/, there are enough machinists there
I always thought it was with arms extended, but recently i've seen ppl aiming with the pistol close to the eye.
>>33034741
It was a common stance in the early 20th century when peestols and revolvers were of a weaker caliber and had an easy to manage recoil that you would hold the peestol closer to your face. Something like half an arm lenght.
>>33034751
Okay thx. So we agree that with arm extended you loose precision?
>>33034741
It is an inferior aiming style for several reasons. check out the US army pistol manual for some of the reasons.
>recoil
>fatigue
>increased gun shake
>gun is very close to your eye in the event of a castostrophic failure
>>33034786
No, just learn to shoot properly.
What are the most unique/boutique agencies, divisions, outfits, companies, units, brigades in contemporary law enforcement or armed forces? Sky marshals are my vote.
>>33034346
Muhreens ofc
>>33034346
I always wondered how many units specialized in bio/chemical warfare we have.
>>33034362
That's a good question. I have heard that individuals that do participate in NBC warfare in any way or have any training in it deal with some really unpleasant training. I have heard (probably bogus) that during training you're exposed to some chemical agents and have to self administer antidotes like atropine etc.
Is here any ex combat officers?
Was serving in Chechnya for about 10 years
>>33033393
Proove.
>>33033431
How? I'm currently doing my shitty job at Russian school
Can /k/ throw me some ideas? Looking into buying a new 30-06 deer rifle. My main feature I'm after is having a lighter weight rifle, as I'm hunting in Southern AZ with a shit ton of hills and mountains.Budget is somewhat flexible.
>>33032832
Winchester 70 featherweight. It feels much lighter than my rem 700 bdl, and the action is so damn smooth and doesnt require any strength to load a round into the chamber.
>>33032890
Seconding. I've been wanting a 70 Featherweight for a while. The Featherweight Compact shaves another 4 oz.
>>33032890
Thirded
Except I wouldn't get a featherweight in an 06.
I'd just go sporter
Hi /k/, i've been working in the firearm industry for a few years now and it's absolute shit. I'm currently working in an import company as a book keeper and compliance officer and it's absolute garbage. I'm no way anti gun but I just want to get myself out of this industry and find another job. How can I get myself to enjoy guns again?
What's so bad about it?
Coworkers?
Red tape?
Government oversight?
Daily dog shootings?
>>33032142
Dumb laws that can have double meanings. Banging my head against the wall just to get in contact with anybody at the ATF just to get a different answer from everybody you somehow miraculously talk to. Having to live in constant fear that I will lose my job because of an idiot that sues the company due to his negligence.
I wish I could just take my knowledge and go into a different industry but I don't think that is going to happen. There's no way I would want to go to the dealer level either.

That ad always makes me cringe
You all have your plan B firearms ready, but how many of you have strengthened your exterior door?
My shitty apartment had a horrible door jamb so I decided to take strengthening the door into my own hands
First I replaced all of the horrible 1/4 inch screws to the frame with 3.5 inch screws, then I added the EZ armor door jamb kit which came with a jamb strengthener and hinge plates. It came with strike plates for the door side too but they were too small so I opted out for a two brass strike plates I found at lowes.
I have a magnetically activated GE wireless door alarm (120 decibels and key-coded) that I activate when I'm in my office, a cardinal gates door guardian (check them out on amazon, VERY good door strengthener) that is latched when I'm home and asleep, and a buddybar door jammer that is also setup while I'm in bed. On the side of the first pic you can see one of my four Blink cams I activate when I'm at school.
I have a chain lock that I barely use too. The door itself is metal. Overall, I'm feeling a sense of safety I haven't felt since I bought my first home defense gun. my setup isnt perfect, but it is relatively cheap for my student budget and I'm happy with it.

You fags need to get on my level. What I have devised here is a way to flood your own bedroom with deadly poisonous vipers. Anyone foolish enough to sneak into my bedroom at night time will be disabled immediately by snakes. At that point I will hear their screams of agony, jump out of bed and grab my salt rifle, and then put them out of their misery with a few shots to the back of their head. Pick related.
You think it would work to remake every part of a cap gun in metal and make it to fit an actual caliber?
>>33031598
at that point with all the effort you should have just made a new gun from scratch
>>33031598
The tolerances would be pretty shitty. I remember seeing a pic of a metal cap gun reinforced and turned into a crude revolver in Ireland, but like >>33031613 said, it would be better just making one from scratch. Look up the practical scrap metal vol.s by professor parabellum, OP, there's a revolver one and a pepperbox
>>33031598
yeah it'd be just like a gun

What movie was this scene from? It's really really familiar
>>33032115
I honestly wish I had an answer for you.
But the equalizer was an ok movie if you're interested.
Worthwhile, or only owned by Blade Runner fans?
ghost in the shell fans you mean
Pros
>low felt recoil
>low bore axis
>looks cool
>so cool
>if I had a pussy it'd be damp
Cons
>this thing was pretty expensive for a revolver
>fuck man .357 magnum is expensive
>oh god damn it one of the several unnecessary parts needed to make it semi-automatic just broke
>why is the parts wait list 3 months
>what do you mean "import tax"?
>I spent all my money on this gun and ammo I can't pay import tax for these parts
>fight me you fucking spaghetti niggers
Also wrong show dumbass.
>>33030855
Rich people you mean.
My friend was looking for a 223 in Canada and 'likes plastic'. I suggested a KelTec SU16 since unrestricted and truck bipod and mag-holding stock. He immediately ran out and paid twice what he needed to on this tactical version without those features.
How did he do? No idea if this is a good gun or not.
>>33030808
They're alright as an economy gun (and that's really what their primary goal is, to be light and to be kind of low priced).
With some 10rd LAR mags I think it would be acceptable. Optionally buy some wedges for them, or use tape if you want to look like an African.
It'll work as a gun, even if it isn't amazing (but they're not atrocious either). What'd he pay for it?
Oh yeah, be wary that they warm up a bit faster than a lot of other guns, so you'll see wider groupings sooner if you do some rapid fire with it.
>>33030808
>truck bipod
If you're talking about the ones that have handguards which can be folded down and used for a bipod, that feature is honestly pointless, it's just way too flimsy to be used as a good bipod and they're best left folded and used as normal handguards.
Getting an aftermarket bipod and putting it on the lower rail he has there would be much more useful, stable and durable. Like, even some cheap grippod would be lightyears ahead of those things.
>mag-holding stock
Kind of a minor feature, it's no huge loss not to have it. If he wants to store mags by the stock there are various pouches which can be attached to stocks of rifles to store a spare magazine or two.
Otherwise he could just keep a bandolier of (preferably wedged) 10 round magazines next to the rifle.
