A cylinder isn't a feeding device, it's the chamber which is a functioning part of the gun. Therefore couldn't you make something like this for say an AR to get around the 10 round limit that some states have?
>>33382012
Why not both? Also, your thread a shit. Rolling.
>>33382012
Because it's typically capacity and not MAG capacity that's the problem.
Even if the mag's built in it's a problem in some areas. Chambers would most likely be no different.

There's no way to place an order on the website but I assume that they must have sent out the shipment to their suppliers recently if they're officially making the announcement on their site.

I threw together a pseudo type 91 lower clone. with for this build. hopefully they'll make the real furniture available for sale.
heres the stock I went with, it's the CAR one, the first option. https://www.model1sales.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=466
so they know their ammo is so shitty that they have to offer a upper just to shoot it.

So /k/ I want a lightweight woods gun with a straight pull action and a very minimalist stock and short barrel. I don't want to rape a k31 or pay a retarded amount of money to buy ammo/get a gun converted to .308 but the action is so fucking sexy. The only other straight pull rifle that is RELATIVELY common is an M95 mannlicher with even weirder ammo but also has historical context/ is heavy as fuck. Is there any other straight pull action that feels good and is somewhat modern and effective that has reasonably common ammo and can be put in lightweight furniture ( and that I won't feel bad about raping any historical context)? Obviously if money was no object I would just nut up and get a Blazer but that's not happening for at least a couple more years.

But at the end you have to choose, modern or millsurp
>>33381752
M95s are light as fuck, about 2 lbs lighter than a K31.
And no, what you seek does not exist.

How often do you conceal your power level /k/?
>Have a small family reunion with close relatives and some distant ones who happen to be in town
>Usually I am pretty quiet at these sort of social events because I can't really participate in conversations about sports and reality TV shows
>Family is mostly pro-gun, but none of them are really hobbyist and the closest any of them have gotten to experience with firearms is going out to hunt occasionally
>Uncle who is usually the one who babysits others on hunting trips speaks up about a new rifle he got
>This quickly spurs a conversation about guns as a whole
>Get a little excited on the inside because this is a conversation I can actually contribute to
>This excitement quickly fades as I listen to the non-stop flow of fuddlore and other common misconceptions about firearms
>Mfw I realized that if I spoke up now I would probably end up looking like an autist and would offhandedly be correcting 90% of the shit everyone said
>Keep quite
>>33381475
>why do you like guns so much
>why are you watching gun videos all day long
>I like the mechanisms and inner workings of them
>oh ok
These are all questions from my family.
I dont talk about guns with other people.

>the closest any of them have gotten to experience with firearms is going out to hunt occasionally
You should have known right then.
>I realized that if I spoke up now I would probably end up looking like an autist
Literally everyone in every hobby has to deal with this. Better to correct them than let them continue spreading misinformation.

Mfw when my family doesnt know i own guns.
Mfw when im 19, in college, and still live with my parents who dont know i own guns.
Hello /k
a quick question please.
Is there a way to calculate the velocity loss of a given .22LR cartridge, standard purpose (i.e. not specifically pistol ammo or stingers or whatever) when shot from a Smith 617 revolver, 6" barrel?
There is the short barrel and the cylinder gap to account for... is there a way or a rule of thumb, whatever?
Thanks.
Yeah, it's called a gun chronograph.
Ehrm... Without that instrument available?
>>33381449
Shoot it from a semiautomatic or otherwise non revolver through a chrony and then shoot it from the revolver and the difference is the velocity lost
This is just a weird thought I had today but why are shotguns the only weapons that use pump action? Why are/were there no pump action rifles? What about the other side, are there any bolt action shotguns? And if either type of weapon does exist are they impractical or just not popular? I know about lever action rifles and shotguns, this is specifically pump action. Again this was just a weird thought I had at work today.
>>33381392
dumb frogposter
There's a Remington 7600 pump action .30-06, and bolt action shotguns exist as well (Browning, Savage, etc.). They're just kind of niche.
Pump action rifles exist, I have one. It's a Henry .22lr rifle. Bolt action shotguns also exist, Mossberg has a pretty popular one for hunting and they have been rather popular for decades.

Considering that half of /k/ is mouth breathing poorfags? Nope.
It's still a fun recreational hobby and I highly recommend it.

Is there a mod that will give my Glock a smoother trigger pull? It requires a lot more pressure about halfway through. I just want something consistent.

Also get good. There's nothing wrong with the Glock trigger. It's not like it's a S&W.

Buy a better firearm
>striker fired
Flawed design.
So, after over a decade of collecting milsurp rifles, I've finally purchased a Mosin.
I'm getting a straight M91 like pic related, and it should be on its way to my ffl shortly.
To other M91 owners, what kind of 54r shoots best in your rifle? I need to buy some ammo now, and I'm wondering what the best bet is, because I'll probably buy in bulk to take advantage of a payment plan at SPG.
Thanks!
>>33381045
Anybody?
>>33381045
Nevermind I guess, I bought 174 grn FMJ.
>>33381045
I just buy bulk milsurp ammo... 880/crate, ammo always goes bang, well boom/thud if it's in my m44, if you're trying to go for accuracy, I know Hornady makes a good 54r, but it is pretty pricey
I'd like feed back on this.
Would you buy a 3" total length knife that came with a sheath?
There would be many options for blade shape and handle shape, scales, hardware, and sheath type.
The idea is it's a small cutting tool you can attach to MOLLE, strap, paracord, necklace, belt, keep in pocket etc. Basically a backup cutting tool you can keep or attach anywhere.
Unlike, pic related, the knives wouldn't be shit. They would be made in USA and have a cutting edge and a good blade shape.
>>33381026
so the CRKT MK5...
Blade shapes will include Tanto, Drop point, clip point, etc.
>>33381053
I'll have to look that up.
>>33381131
I really want to get a shotgun for my next piece but i'm having a hard time picking. Maybe some of yall can help me.
It has to have wood on it, I just like wooden guns. I'm fine with either over/under or semi-automatic. I want it from a reputable name, high quality like browning or remington. I also want it to be good for a range of things, maybe if I want to go skeet shooting one day or hunt with it, no tactical home defense bullshit.
I've looked at a couple and i've liked so far a used Citori or Remington 1100. Anyone else have any shotguns or opinions on both of those two?
If you want to spend just a little more money, Beretta silver pigeons are a little nicer than citori and hold value better.
>>33380967
Can"t go wrong with a Citori.

Sorry in advance if I'm in the wrong board, in a thread on a different board after a few posts several service anons suggested I come to /k/, never posted here before.
I'm 27 years old, former NCAA D.1 track athlete, with a background in biology. Lately I've been thinking about joining the marines (my entire family is marines, so my preferred service branch) and I want to be a corpsman/medic based on my skill set. My family has worked in all job lines though, currently have an uncle in intelligence and another uncle who is a colonel in spec ops. (can't say what they do though sorry).
Am I too old? Is this a midlife crisis pipe dream? I don't have a college degree, but hope to get into OCS and get an education so I can spend my life doing something meaningful. I have a background (somewhat) in military life from going to military schools in middle school and high school, and some college under my belt (roughly junior year completed for credits).
Sorry again if this is the wrong board, please no bully please no ban.
>>33380870
Corpsman is a navy MOS. If you want to do that you have to join the navy.

There is a general dedicated to military enlistment, they should be able to give you a decent answer
