someone thought this shit would work on the battlefield
Basically what you posted but on an aircraft
>>33381822
something similar did work though
Pigeon guided cruise missiles

I'd want the jet powered version
>>33382852
How long was the mileage on this thing? Been wondering since MGS3.
>>33382441
I remember seeing this in a documentary on the Military channel. iirc they also tried this with cats.
>>33382907
IIRC it has a (one-way) range of about 40 miles.

Imagine going to work in one of these, laughing at the traffic jams below me, until I collide with a flock of geese.

> get hit
> fall off the platform
> get chopped to gazillions of tiny pieces
10/10 would ride into battle
>>33381808
But drones are of great use on the battlefield... it's just a whole lot more applicable today, because you can man them remotely.
Don't judge strange af looking prototypes just by how crazy they seem.

>soviets try to train dogs to be suicide bombers to destroy german tanks during WWII
>doggos would either run up to soviet tanks, blowing them up because that's what they were familiar with due to training
>or run up to a german tank then promptly return to handler to get their reward, killing soviets
Nuclear powered amphibious tank.

Is that game really as bad in terms of animations as people say? If so the YTP is going to be glorious, especially if done by the same people who did the "We'll bang, OK?" ones.
>>33383722
Have you seen that new one that's like a compact jet board, and you strap a backpack full of jet fuel onto your back?
>>33383801
i didn't,but i'm sure it don't feel the same
plus the weird look bring some bonus fun

I'M BRRRRREAAAAAKING UP

If he fell off the platform, this would suddenly become a rekt thread.
>>33382441
Didn't they end this program because the pigeons had a tendency to fly right into the ships that launched them? Kek. I believe they also tried incendiary bats and had the same problem.
>>33386017
My understanding was that the bat bomb worked too well in testing and burned down a couple military bases. Were it not for nukes, we would have dropped bat bombs on japan.
>>33383431
>But drones
it wasnt a drone, it was meant to be a one man flying platform

You need to play this while flying it.

>pigeons had a tendency to fly right into the ships that launched them
that doesnt make sense. The pigeons were not physically themselves flying they were just controlling a missile from the inside. they were not aware that they were flying or their location and only pecked at controls in the missile.
bats were used in another weapon where they just flew around with bombs attached to them which is what i think you are talking about.

>>33383478
mightve worked if they used remote detonation but i bet they used timed
>>33383373
These would be GREAT for border patrol, S&R, and Spec Ops.
>>33382441
This actually wasn't the worst idea, they just got scooped by early digital logic.
