Please disregard the perspective / construction elements, I wasn't focusing on drawing. Just wanted a setup where light sources overlapped.
>>2559741
the gradients in the sky and on the ground are too soft to represent the light source casting the leftmost shadow
>>2559754
You mean the candle's falloff? I just used a circular gradient for that, all I wanted to find out was the interaction between the colors. The part of the ground that isn't illuminated by the red light looks weird to me, color-wise.
So lately im very interestet about glass and any kind of work with this material.. today i found this and im realy impressed, would like to know where in europe could i study and learn this tecnique.

This is the most valuable painting ever sold. Is it good?
>>2553831
I like it from a purely abstract aesthetic.
Keep in mind that the monetary value of an image is not the same as the quality of the painting. Things like politics, money laundering, bidding wars, historical context, name branding etc all come into play.
The Mona Lisa is the most valuable painting in existence but it's only worth as much as it is because it has the perfect storm of a history behind it and it has entered a pop icon status.
its pretty cool
>Is it good?
Fuck no, not even by abstract non-standards.

Shit taste, low-IQ dupe.

still better than your art.
its like they copypasted random ass faces onto the bodies
What kind of art jobs can you hold down that are not hard to obtain? I don't care if it's boring or banal, just something creative that I can do until I find a better job.
Is Graphic Design hard to get into? Pays well? Are the skills required hard to obtain?
anyone?

You'll be working along side a bunch of special cornflake women with colored hair, glasses, and feminist views who LUVVVVV typography :D and the token asian chick in the corner who doesn't get into any workplace drama and is the bosses favorite play date but the boss doesn't get that she's just being too friendly to him so she can move up the ladder and is in her culture and chad who is the top le graphic designer and well-rounded and educated and white nights the cornflake women in conversations over the water cooler but he only does this to survive the mental gymnastics you see chad is on your side you have to pretend to like the cornflake women or else the cornflake women will eat you alive and try to get you arrested for rape just looking them wrong just saying the wrong thing can get you charged for rape do you understand? You don't want to be a graphic designer in house.
Can't draw anything right because I'm burning out.

Rest, go outside, relax a bit.
If you have to draw anyway draw something from your confort zone, doodle a little, draw thinks you like, no matter how they turn out.

Do you exercise at all? Do you go to sleep on time? Do you sleep enough? Do you eat healthy?
Do you do warmup exercises?
Okay guys so im sort of a beginner artist and i have the dream of one day becoming a Riot splash artist. How should i go about doing so? I don't really need the fastest way of getting there per se but rather a guide that i could follow to get me there eventually.
What im looking for are books, video tutorials and the like that could help me on my way there, anything really.
Pic related is the level i wish to reach some day, and if anyone know the artist behind this piece please let me know so i can go follow him.

I hate to break it to you kid but here's the hard truth. It will take you a minimum of 3-5 years to get good enough to paint at that level, even with 6 hours of daily painting and art studying.
By the time you have gotten good enough League of legends might not even be around anymore, it certanly won't be the economical powerhouse it is today.
However, You still want to become a illustrator for video game marketing. That's great, there will always be a cool game or company around for you to work for. Make the job your goal not the company.
Can someone please help me figure something out?
I'm looking for a name of a specific design movement that was popular in the 70's-90's in the fields of technology, architecture, and other things. It's characterized by creamy/dull colors, heavy use of metal, vinyl, rubber, thick lines, simple color schemes, etc. I will post examples of what I'm talking about. I simply love this stuff and even if it doesn't have a name, if someone could point me in the direction of a blog or something that is full of this type of design, I'd love you forever and ever.
There was also a short video I saw once of this designer who collects a shitload of similar material, but in the form of computer company logos on cardboard boxes from the 90's, aircraft logos, and similar design. I can't remember his fucking name. If someone could help me find that guy/video that'd be helpful.
There is literally nothing wrong with going to art schools.

I like Illustrator and all but it's kind of pricy. You guys know of any good drawing programs that are a little more affordable? Not sure if this goes without saying or not but layers are a must.
Krita for raster, inkscape for vector. Both are free
>>2558066
Seconding Krita. It's free and has a bunch of nice shit in it.
>>2558060
Why wouldn't you pirate it? You're not being noble for refraining from doing so, just stupid. I'm seeing in groups like LevelUp! where people proudly state how they are saving up for software like they should get a badge of honour for it or something. It's fucking retarded.
Which one of you is crazy enough to compare Basquiat with Van Gogh?
Care to explain your thounght process?

Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Does anyone own a Wacom Cintiq? I currently use a Wacom Intuos Pro and I'm not sure if I should upgrade. Does a Cintiq improve your workflows compared to graphic tablets without displays?
Your best bet is finding somewhere you can test it out. Minimum would be buy it somewhere with a return policy and try and it out before deciding whether to return it or not.
In general though a cintiq will give you more accurate line art, for painting the advantages of more accuracy is negligible for line art it can make a huge difference.
Keep in mind too using a cintiq will be worse on your back/arm than a tablet, so f your doing art 12 hours a day it may actually be impossible for you to do without killing your back.
I highly recommend the 22" Cintiq + Touch gestures. It's worth it if you are a working professional or if you have the income to support such a large purchase.
It's one of the best upgrades I've ever bought, considering I had been using a Intuos 4 Medium since 2009.
I'm sure the competing alternatives are just fine, if you want to spend less.

i ordered a 22hd today so i can give my first impressions once it arrives.
I have owned a 21ux earlier, the older one, and it was so fun to use. Even though it made my art suffer a bit (i wasnt used to drawing on the screen) but i guess it dissipates over time.
And its mostly for the fun factor that im getting a 22hd, and as far as workflow goes it will slow you down until you get used to it but once you get the hang of it it should atleast make lining stuff quicker.
I'm really trying to find a painting that's probably close to ten years old now of the red queen from alice in wonderland. it was dark, only her head and shoulders. Hair was black, white face paint, her blue eyes were yellow and she looked a frustrated depressed, she was crying. The painting is very similar to this, the artist did a lot of alice in wonderland stuff, I just don't know why I can't find it on DA.
Anyone know which one I'm looking for?

Forgot to mention it looked a lot like these, but I'm not seeing it under Damien Worms galleries anywhere.
