Betty Edwards is creepy AF
She's just old.
>>3060637
Yeah, she's really interested in the right side of your brain....
>>3060637
Fuck you. I've met her and talked to her. She taught at the college I went to, she's the nicest person you could want to meet. She has endless patience and is a great teacher, everyone loved her.
So go fuck your mother, edgelord.
Do any knows what's the topics lists studied in that 1 year online program with crazy results posted here?

You mean FZD? or Aguri's meme guide?
>>3060489
Why is Aguri's treated as a meme? It's basically drawabox, the only meme being "go through all Ctrl+Paint in two months"
>>3060489
sure, FZD.
I'm curious over what is their schedule.
Why do I feel like shit whenever I pick up a pencil?
>>3059954
everything is going to be fine, just keep doing it, if you give up youll never surpass that feeling. Assuming you are shit at drawing.
>>3059954
Have a couple hobbies you juggle. I play video games, draw, paint, garden, listen to music, cook, bunch of shit. If you sit around feeling bad about drawing you'll stay in that funk. Gotta keep shit fresh. And usually when I'm out doing something else, I'm inspired to draw and can't wait to get at it. Hope this helps.
Because for most people being bad at something is an unpleasant and stressful experience, and art takes years to get good at.
You need the mindset of loving the process of learning, or your first few years will be constant misery.
IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller

>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

After-the-Lock
How long did it take you to realize how important composition is? Think about it, its literally what determines how much detail you are putting into the subject: if its a full body image, the body appears a bit flat, but if its a full shot of the boobs with the head and lower body cross off, you better sure as fuck put a bunch of detail in the tits.
>>3060434
a lot
>>3060434
On the subject, what's the best book to start with when considering composition? Framed Ink?
looking for OC, or original ideas for stickers and shirt ideas. lacking inspiration seeking some from fellow anons pic kinda not really related.

Is this a 3d model being illustrated over? the lighting is very suspect, it reminds me a lot of basic CG shading, or is this artist just a genius of making lighting look fake.
I can't tell if this is supposed to be sexual...
But it doesn't look like a 3d-model to me, just soft brush or smudge or both.
doesn't seem to be 3D render and paint over, a reference might have been used but nothing impossible learning soft brush, smudging, blending and color balancing
why would something as simple as that need a 3d model
>shitters impressed by basic ass rimlights
Is my board marketable?

No

Constructive criticism is part of the rules and it would help me a lot
I studied anatomy hardcore(8 hours a day) for a year and I think I reached my limit. 1 year has passed since going hardcore and I haven't improved on it. Do you think there is a point where you simply reach a limit in a subset like anatomy or perspective. I mean, I could also learn new poses and stuff but I feel like I learned all the anatomy I need. Thoughts?

Let's say I want to launch my own book "the art of" with my art, obviously. Can I throw fanart into it? Or does it have to be original content only? There's one piece of mine which I put a lot of work into and I'd really like to throw it into my book but I don't know if it's legal.
>>3060132
>Can I throw fanart into it?
No. You don't own the IP, only the copyright to the piece you've made.
>Or does it have to be original content only?
Yes.
How close is your fanart to the offical IP?
If it's kind of stylized and off, you just title it something else (AKA don't say what it's from, even if it's obvious) and you can go ahead and put it in.
If your piece can reasonably be considered a parody or is otherwise distinct from the source material then you'd probably be fine including it.
Copyright, especially in situations like this, is a total grey area and varies widely on a case-to-case basis. If you're really worried about it, consult it with a copyright lawyer instead of an anonymous image board.
Anyone know how to easily forego the technical rigmarole of MODO and Zbrush? They seem like useful programs but they have such a foreign interface when compared to Photoshop.
Zbrush is pretty easy actually if you're into sculpting at all. What I did to learn it was:
>Ben Mauros CDW workshop - it shows you right off the bat the practical application of the software, guy creates an alien portrait/concept using basically sticks and stones of Zbrush (this is the most important one imho, actually applying the knowledge even if you know only the basics of the software and producing finished work using those basic skills before you move on so you dont get bored to death by learning the software without actually doing anything)
>Digital Tutors - really good beginner course
>Michael Pavlovich for anything related to hard surface, guy is a god when it comes to teaching
>the official Zbrush tutorial vids - theyre good when you have something very specific you want to learn, ie. how to use certain function
Hello, artists! So my friend just recently discovered that he has some SERIOUSLY devastating sculpting skills that he never knew about. These are my pictures of his work, and this is a time-lapse video that he himself made of his latest (*and only his third-ever!*) creation. Up to this point, everything that he knows about sculpting has been entirely self-taught, and WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! What do you like about this particular piece? What do you hate about it? What do you think that he should work on in order to become a better artist? (And WHERE-oh-WHERE can new artists like him find patrons to fund all those paints and sculpting supplies?!) Any and all constructive criticism and advice is appreciated! Thanks for watching!

I bought a shit ton of paints and brushes, supplies from a broke art school dropout on craiglist for $200 a few threads ago.
Never painted before in my life and the result... is shit. I was trying to go for a simple tropical ocean and fucked up along the way.
Also why are oil paints such a huge fucking mess?
well you seem to have color theory somewhat down. Otherwise put down your paint brush and lrn2draw.
