What are /his/ thoughts on the Book of Revelation?
>>1708466
I believe it was written to critique and inspire the seven churches of asia, and by extent allow later readers to learn from their strengths and weaknesses. Most of the flowery language and images comes from the fact that it's written in the style of jewish apocryphal literature and so isn't literal in the word-for-word sense. Basically it's a lot more like the other epistles than people realize and doesn't have really anything to do with the judgment.

"Romans get out REEEEEEEEE" taken too seriously. And too many people treat it as a code to be solved because they can't handle symbolism.

Written by St. John.
If the East-West schism is mended, does this mean Nicky will become a Saint in the Catholic church too, or will he lose his Sainthood status?

What are /his/'s thoughts about and attitudes toward individualism? Is one an individual, does one become an individual, or is there no such thing as an individual?
>>1708010

>He answered, "Knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been granted to you; but to the rest, they are made known through parables so that 'they may look but not see, and hear but not understand.'
Even with all the studies and the commentaries, it is possible our understanding of these teachings left behind for us is minimal.
Every sermon over the length of 33 years, even the last 3 years, all of those sermons could not all possibly have been recorded. That is like recorded every conversation and event in our life, and every thought and deeper contemplated meaning, is not all recorded in scripture. Out of all the sermons, we recieve a very small portion of what is taught.

Unfortunately, most African cultures hadn't really developed a written language or a systematic effort of writing down history, so we know very little about the continent before colonisation.
