Friendly reminder that all linux distros come with an ssh daemon enabled by default and it's set up on port 22, and root access is enabled.

Anyone on the same network as you have an unlimited attack vector to bruteforce your password and gain root access to your machine over the network.

If you don't believe me, just try logging into your own box with

I have a question for longtime OSX users. What has your experience been with the various OSX versions post-Snow Leopard? I hear a lot of people say Mavericks was the last good one, while others say that's when OSX started to go bad, and still others say it's all been downhill since Snow Leopard.

Pretty much the only things I can say for sure from my own limited experience is that OSX got a lot slower and bloated after Snow Leopard, which could comfortably run on just 1GB of RAM, and Yosemite and El Capitan seem to run like dicks if you don't install them on a SSD.

With Arch based distros you have all your packages in 2 repos, you never have to install a repo again. Not to mention the rolling release and bleeding edge software.

Its no wonder that Linux hasn't gained much desktop users, with shitty Debian based distros being the most commonly known.
