Dear /g

It breaks my heart to say this, but all Linux Operating Systems out there will never be fully polished or have quality apps like windows or Mac, because all you cucks are too busy disliking shit like autistic fucks and circle jerking to fucking anime whores. Now if all the Linux developers could join forces and stop hating on each other's shit and polish their apps instead of it just WEKRS ATTITUDE, maybe then people would consider using Linux as their daily OS.

If you spent all the time you spent complaining, fixing the problem yourself, there would be no issue.
>>
You buy Windows and MacOS

You work for Linux

Stop being lazy.

>Well, that's interesting. The state of desktop OpenGL on Windows is pretty awful at the moment. The antiquated WGL APIs make it difficult to control when your application enters exclusive fullscreen mode, and as far as I know, it's impossible to control latency or get any kind of presentation feedback with them. You also can't make UWP apps that use WGL. Google's ANGLE, which is used to implement WebGL in Chrome and Firefox, is a lot better, and it lets you do fancy things like render OpenGL ES content to a D3D11 texture or to a DirectComposition surface. If Microsoft open-source Edge's WebGL engine (currently it seems like only the GLSL->HLSL translator is open-sourced,) it could become another modern way of using GLES on Windows.

Source: We rely on OpenGL to render video in mpv, and we are currently switching from using a WGL context by default to using ANGLE. Maybe this could be a third option?

It is a botnet, you can't prove the opposite.
But I totally agree that angle, dx11 and windows are dumb shits that need a lot of improvements.

>design a laptop where the keys don't press against the screen and leave marks while laptop is closed
>people bitch about the screen not pressing against the keys when it's closed

What the fuck is wrong with you people? I personally think this is an amazing design since most my laptops get square marks on the bottom half from when it's closed.

Well designed laptops don't get the squares. Only when you set things on top of them (don't do that) does that happen. They're not coasters.

How(Or I should be asking "where") do you learn these languages like APL? Just google and shit?

Also, it seems like there's a lot of advanced algebra implemented, how good do you have to be at algebra/calculus?

If you know your paradigms, calculus and algorithms well enough it's mostly looking at other peoples code with the documentation/reference manual next to it

That brings me memories

I'm sorry for being that guy but help me out, /g/entlemen.
I'm looking to buy a laptop soon. Currently stuck between 5 models.

I'd use it mainly for programming, watching movies in bed & shitposting outside. I have a desktop for muh gay men & home-use but I'd need something portable.
My biggest priorities are reliability, portability, battery life & linux support. I understand they're all different but I'd appreciate any input.

1. Thinkpad T430 or Thinkpad X230
I'm not sure whether there are any advantages of getting the T430 apart from the larger screen. I've heard that the build quality on the x230 isn't as solid and that X-series doesn't use the same materials as the T-series. I know the display isn't great on either of them and I might try to replace the screen for an IPS display.

3. Asus UX303
I've had a low-end Asus before (X550DP) and it wasn't too bad for its price. However I'm not fond of their flimsy build quality and awful customer service. The Zenbook has got decent specs but doesn't seem to be too popular here. Can the chinks be trusted?

4. Dell XPS 13
Quite pricey but is it worth it? I might look for a refurbished one.

5. Macbook Air 13"
The meme laptop.

Feel free to tell me to kill myself and suggest a superior laptop not listed above.

I've owned consoles since the GameCube days, and never owned a Gaming PC. All of the sudden I'm extremely interested in building my own PC, with an emphasis on gaming and it will also be used for light photo and video editing and school work. My question is, what is so much better about PC gaming compared to console gaming?

Will I still enjoy the PC gaming if I'm mostly playing by myself?

What scripting language do you use?

I want to convert a bunch of old projects I wrote in java into a scripting language and then toss em on the web.

What language does what, and which one do you prefer.

I'll name some popular ones I'm interested in, and I hope you guys can guide me to make the right choice.

Javascript, Perl, Ruby, Python

Which one will it be /g/?

Not gonna lie, I was leaning towards either of those.

I'm not necessarily looking for something easy, but rather something that will make it efficient and work almost everywhere.
