Why did linux copy Apple with the app store? To prove that Macs are master race computers?
A failed attempt to make linux appeal to normies

Because it has poor taste

>distro named after nigras
>tries to appeal to nigra demograpgic
Are you truly surprised?
Why is this software so fucking slowat doing anything?
It takes 2 hours to install a new Linux distro while I can do it in 30 minutes on my actual machine. Is VMware better?
What gives?
Use an SSD. You can also install to a bare metal partition to get better disk speeds. I personally have no problem with just an SSD and I run three debian virtual machines on my laptop.
>>56132964
Your computer is a slow piece of shit, and/or you're using a mechanical drive.

It's an i7 2600k with 16 GB or ram. Specs are not the issue here.
Why is it that when you load a large image in the browser and then save it, it re-downloads the image? The image is right there in the browser, why is there no way to simply take the data that it just served you and save it?
Don't know about the others but nightly does that.
>>56132913
Non-shit browsers do just that.
>>56132954
>>56132958
It doesn't though. You're probably not downloading a large enough image to notice the time difference.
Open this file, let it load fully, and then save it and note that it takes awhile:

Why isn't this you laptop, /g/?
I ain't got money
cause macs are superior faggot
For the same money , i can build a desktop that can beat it in every single area except portability. Plus i have an EEE pc. xD
I've built a circuit that powers a flyback transformer with help of a Youtube video. So far I've been using two 9V batteries to power it, but it isn't very effective due to the low amperage. The guy in the video says he's using a 12V motorcycle battery (about 6-10 amps). My question is how safe is it to just hook up an old moped battery to my circuit? Could I do this with like alligator clips, or would the load instantly melt them? And how dangerous is it to be potentially shocked by the output or circuit/battery? Internal damage is alright but I'd prefer not dying.
If anyone else has done anything similar with electronics before, whats your power supply? What do you recommend? Tips, tricks and ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

stick your dick in it for science.

Where's good to buy chairs from in the US?
I need a chair with a flat back and no armrests, because of shoulder problems. It seems like most chairs have rounded backs, though, so they're no good for me.
Can you recommend a good store and/or chair? I have a budget of about $150.
Polite bump

Not technology.

Ikea Markus with armrests removed.
I'm interviewing with a software company for a front end web app dev position and they sent me this technical test:
>Build a demo that the engineering team will think is shiny
What should I make?
I dunno but you better hope it sparkles
>>56132516
Build a demo that shows off your cuck porn collection using a fancy js slideshow.

stay in your containment thread, you sack of shit
Just dumped AT&T and switched to TWC.
Feels fucking great, man.
For comparison.

>Put computer together
>Turn it on, fans spin up, USBs are powered, etc
>Turns off after like 5 seconds and then proceeds to cycle
What the fuck do I do? I've reset the CMOS, I've tried booting without an HDD in and without RAM, I've unplugged the GPU, reseated the processor and heatsink, checked all the connections... I'm at a loss.
Does the beeper beep (or mb led blink)? Or do you get anything on your display?
>>56132462
does it post?
>>56132499
The MB led lights up for the duration it's on, but nothing comes up on display
Is building a PC worth it anymore? Or should I just get a premade?

Looking for a database/archive of tips and tricks, useful stackoverflow q&as, and maybe optimal solution examples to common tasks or obscure things that might be hard logically to pull off.
This is for Java (IntelliJ ftm).
I just work on the go a lot and many times googling isn't available.
pic unrelated, cool though

Why do storm troopers suck at aiming if they're all supposed to be like the hutt solider.
Please /g/randads. You would at least make fun of me for using Java.
Well you all asked for it, I'm vicious as fuck.
Commence posting entitled millennialae.
For the past few days I've been trying to find photos of famous tech billionaires wearing hats, I've found bill gates and others, however there's one man that I just can't find, that man?
Steve Jobs.
I've been searching for 3 days and found absolutely nothing besides poorly done photoshops.
I dare you to find me a real pic of him wearing a hat, I think that was his secret, no hats.
faggot
>>56132080
you dare to call me faggot? you see the real question was hidden all along, it's not steve jobs that never wears a hat, haha do you really think I would mention him in /g/? no..noo...

gtx780 (legacy) at this point does updating the geforce game ready driver do a god damned thing, or is it placebo?
If anything it may purposefully degrade your performance after a certain point because Nvidia are jews
>>56131986
good to know, i'll be halting all further updates then. Surprisingly it can still manage to push rise of the tomb raider ok at 1440p ( with adjustments) , probably the most taxing game i,ve run to date. Dank je, anon.

nice, i'm watching a 1080p stream and uploading a backup to a remote server in the background using 10-15% CPU usage, so my benchmark wasn't the greatest example anyway.
