Bought LCD monitor for a big sum of money. After 2 months of using 2 dead pixels appeared. Motherfuking shop says they will replace monitor only if there will be 5+ dead pixels. Is there any way to make 3 more dead pixels with some software or something? Need help.
>>56133970
You're going to need a magnetic needle and a very steady hand.
Magnetic force destroys pixels? Did not knew about that.
>>56133970
Tell them to just fucking do it? They should take your money and do it regardless if they think it should be done or not.
Have you actually used Test Disk to recover deleted files?
>>56133981
Is it true what they say then?
It is the best pro/g/ram to recovery deleted files?
I did a practice run recovering my files from hardware raid0.
Also tried to recover photos off my android phone after my cat died and I realized they'd all got deleted somehow. Sadly I couldn't recover anything.
Why aren't you using the comfiest OS in the universe /g/?

>>56133820
I'd use it if they made this for older phones like my Nexus 5.
As it stands, Ubuntu is still a better choice

joke's on you faggot. I don't have a computer, I use public computers to browse 4chan.
I might've just killed my pc
Gigabyte z68-ud3-b3
i5-2500k
Gigabyte gtx970 G1
I installed the latest BIOS from gigabyte using qflash, also backed up old one, I got it straight from the gigabyte website, it installed and said it passed, but now my pc keeps shutting down seconds after it turns on, and repeats this over and over again
Tried clearing CMOS, both with the pc off and on, even changed mb battery, still no luck
Wat do?
>>56133666
Take out all unnecessary parts, try to boot with absolute minimum hardware. Test each ram stick one by one.
>>56133716
Can it boot without the CPU?
Not that it helps you in this particular case, but considering these you might avoid such problems in the future:
1. was there a specific good reason to flash it to a newer version, and
2. are you 100% (yes, not 95% or even 99%, but 100%) sure that you downloaded the correct version for your exact motherboard model?
Try unplugging any non-essential components and look up in the motherboard documentation on methods of firmware recovery and whether any is viable in this particular situation. Worst case scenario should be replacing the firmware chip (which surely is socketed) with one flashed with working firmware. Might be somewhat coslly, but probably still less so than replacing the motherboard.
What's wrong with systemd /g/?
systemdeez nuts!
HAH
gottem, gottem
Literally nothing, people are just autistic fucks. It does slightly more than an init system needs to but it's a great and user friendly init system, something linux has really been lacking in.
>inb4 muh unix philosophy
>>56133657
If it focused on doing what it should, nothing.
But it's doing way too much unrelated bullshit and it's infecting all the software working with it.
I have to admit I'm using some of the DBus signals it sends in my own software, thus making it not work on systems without SystemD.
Hi /g/, should I learn php, python or django?
do you have a target application or are you memeing?
>>56133639
Django is a framework in Python anon...

Why are the mobile version of websites so much better than the desktop version?
>>56133597
Possibly because everyone has a smartphone now.

Not that it matters considering the quality of the site you posted.
google chrome and smartphone singlehandedly ruined web browsing

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

ITS LINUX NOT "GNU" LINUX
RMS INVENTED THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN "KERNEL" AND "OPERATING SYSTEM"
HISTORICALLY, NO UNIX OR UNIX-BASED OR NON-UNIX-BASED SYSTEM SEPARATED THE KERNEL FROM THE OS
BOTH LINUX AND GNU SOFTWARE WERE CREATED/RELEASED UNDER FREE/COPYLEFT LICENSES
IT WOULD BE AS CORRECT TO SAY THAT THE LINUX OS "MAKES USE" OF THE FREELY AVAILABLE GNU UTILITIES AS IT WOULD BE TO SAY THAT THE GNU OS "MAKES USE" OF THE FREELY AVAILABLE LINUX KERNEL, EXCEPT AS NOTED ABOVE, FOR VIRTUALLY ALL OF COMPUTING HISTORY, KERNEL == OS
FURTHERMORE THE GNU OS ALREADY HAS A KERNEL CALLED "HURD". THEY'VE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK FOR DECADES.
IT WOULD BE MOST CORRECT TO SAY THAT EACH DISTRIBUTION COMBINES FREE (AND SOMETIMES NON-FREE) COMPONENTS INTO A COMPLETE OPERATING SYSTEM AND THEN CALLS IT WHATEVER IT WANTS TO. SOME CHOOSE TO CALL THEMSELVES GNU/LINUX. OTHERS CHOOSE TO CALL THEMSELVES LINUX. THE FREEDOM OF SELF-DETERMINATION RESTS WITH THE CREATOR(S) OF THE FINAL DISTRIBUTION
RMS IS A FASCIST WHO WANTS TO RESTRICT OTHER PEOPLE'S FREEDOMS FOR HIS OWN AUTISTIC SELF-SERVING EGO

I have a Ubuntu 16.04 server and i am trying to get DF audio working.
I am on a Windows 7 box using extraputty for reference.
>>56133292
Just use VNC?
>>56133292
nigger, there's exactly one track that plays. just put it on repeat in the background.
>>56134314
Was about to say this.
If it was any other game, it'd have had some merit, but DF is a song and nothing else.
I feel like listening to it now.
Hey /g/ so on my way home an iPhone fell out of someone's car. I didn't realize it was a phone when I got to it and the person was already long gone.
There is no passcode lock on it(wut) and the screen is fucked to the point where I can't navigate the phone (see pic related).
How do I go about returning the phone to the owner? Please help. Siri works and I can talk to her I just need to know what to say to get in contact with the owner.
Jamal.... please.

Can Rust replace the C programming language for things like kernels, microcontroller etc.?
If not, why?
Can it? Probably
Will it? No way
>>56133107
It can, but it won't.
It can, it likely will in some niches, unlikely in anything big or popular.
