I paid basically the same thing for my Note5 last august, price is pretty consistent.
What's up /g/ and miscellaneous hackers.
I've concluded that my GTX 760 is broken, so now I'm in need of a replacement. Since the performance per price has obviously increased a bit since I got the 760 (as well as games becoming more demanding), I'm looking to get something better, but probably around the same price range as 760 was when it came out/was new. I've been looking at the 960. Someone suggested that I get the 1060 instead. What should I get, /wsr/? One of these? Some other one?
I'm looking to be able to play newer games like GTA: V and Just Cause 3 at decent-looking settings (medium or something?) while hopefully getting close to 144 FPS (as is the rate of my monitor) (though I guess anything over 60 would be playable). I suspect my budget might be too low for 144 FPS but tell me.
Do you think I could at least stay over 144 FPS consistently in Battlefield 3 or GTA: IV?
Anyway, what follows is my setup, only including those parts that I thought would be of importance. I removed all prices since these are the parts that I already have.

Oh, and: resolution: 1920*1080.
>>56126564
The 960 is not very good and is not a big leap from the 760. Do not get one.
>>56126564
My system is pretty similar to your build and I have a 960. Runs GTA V, Arma 3, Overwatch at solid 60-70 on High.
Is anyone running an overclocked i5 6400? What motherboard are you using and how far have you pushed it?
just beg a little bit more for that 6600k timmy
Lol it's automatically over clock itself, Intel called it turbo boost.
>>56126536
no
>>56126539
talking about a BCLK overclock that is possible with certain motherboards and BIOS
Come at me.

you're fighting a battle you can't win
My previous setup was router in the basement, MoCA extender upstairs, ethernet from extender to gigabit switch, then from the switch to a 15 foot CAT5e drop to another gigabit switch to a 3 foot CAT5e drop, to my computer.
However my MoCA extender died the other day due to the temps (it hit 110f here and the extender was under a desk and overheated).
So now my current setup is Router in the basement > 15 feet CAT5e drop > gigabit switch > 25 feet CAT5e drop > another gigabit switch > to a final 25 feet CAT5e drop to my computer.
Oddly enough this actually improved my ping time. ping went from 5-6ms to 3ms.
Guess the MoCA extender was adding some latency.
I ordered a free T-Mobile tshirt yesterday.
As someone who has a PC from 6 years ago. Should i make/buy a new one now with a 1070 or wait for le ebin HBM2 cards?
Everyone says that that shit will destroy anything, literally heaven etc. etc.
Will it be really such a big jump?
>>56126358
>Will it be really such a big jump?
Expect a 100% increase in speed, in everything. More if you are coming off a low-tier build.
What is your current setup? What do you do with it?
Not OP. But my builds 6 ish years old too, thinking about upgrading as well.
I5 3750 i think?(@ work)
8gb ram
Gtx 660
Asus extreme z99 mobo ( i think)

>search for Samsung Galaxy 4 Sprint phone
>find a good one for about $80 -100 that has a clean ESN
>search for Sprint Micro SIM Card Chip SIMGLW206R for Samsung Galaxy 4 (costs about $13)
>Sign up for a basic account at freedompop.com (use a visa gift card to create account)
>only costs one-time $25 activation fee
>get monthly...
>200 minutes talk
>500mb data
>200 texts
I've been using freedompop for 3 years. Fucking flawless service. Haven't paid a dime, just make sure you don't go over your allotted time.
You can also get unlimited texts and free wifi phone calls using Goolge Voice.
Also, go over to slickdeals.com and search for how to get an additional 500mb data free every month.
Don't listen to any of the fa/g/ots calling freedompop a shit service or scam. If I listened to these idiots I wouldn't have saved $600 yearly for the past three years.
Hi /g/
i am looking for a on premise collaboration tool. Something that can be installed locally, i can share pictures, vid's etc, and then invite other to login see the shared data and make comments or suggestions for changes?!? There are a few Cloud based solutions, like redpen, go visually, etc. But there is a need for a on premise only solution.

Am I risking myself by downloading a Windows 8.1 ISO from the web with KMSPico?
What safety measures can I take to avoid keyloggers, non-Microsoft spyware, etc.?
Install Gentoo
Just download it straight from Microsoft. Or use the fucking Pirate Bay.
>>56126117
Use a firewall with a whitelisted software.
I use TinyWall.

Hi guys, I've just started seriously learning Java. Currently I'm doing it at home and while I work and have come to a realization that I need to work on projects in order to get a true understanding of languages. I get it while I'm doing the practice and reading the lessons but I to do it in a more free form way in order to retain it in my memory.
Can anyone recommend sites for basic tasks and projects one can do?
>>56125890
