http://www.iphonehacks.com/2016/08/iphone-6-touch-disease-issue.html
>Gadget repair firm iFixit has reported about a flaw dubbed "Touch Disease", which it claims is cropping up.
>With it, owners of the phones are experiencing, to start, a gray bar that appears at the very top of their display. And, for many others, the display itself becomes unresponsive to touch, or less responsive overall.
>"In both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the Touch IC chips connect to the logic board via an array of itty-bitty solder balls -- "like a plate resting on marbles," Jessa explains.
>Over time, as the phone flexes or twists slightly during normal use, those solder balls crack and start to lose contact with the board.

There are 5 rational gentoomen, A, B, C, D and E. They find 100 thinkpads. They must decide how to distribute.
The gentoomen have a strict order of seniority: A is senior to B, who is senior to C, who is senior to D, who is senior to E.
The gentoomen world's rules of distribution are thus: that the most senior gentoomen should propose a distribution of copies. The gentoomen, including the proposer, then vote on whether to accept this distribution. In case of a tie vote, the proposer has the casting vote. If the distribution is accepted, the thinkpads are disbursed and the game ends. If not, the proposer is cast out of the GNU/Linux community and loses his waifu, and the next most senior gentoomen makes a new proposal to begin the system again.
Gentoomen base their decisions on three factors. First of all, each gentoomen wants his waifu. Second, given his waifu, each gentoomen wants to maximize the number of thinkpad each receives. Third, each gentoomen would prefer to cast another out, if all other results would otherwise be equal. The gentoomen do not trust each other, and will neither make nor honor any promises between gentoomen apart from a proposed distribution plan that gives a whole number of thinkpads to each gentoomen.

Why is this picture of ramsey and pizza a meme?
when i google "buy windows 10 oem pro key" I get tons of sponsored and top first page results selling keys for under 30 US dollars
is this legal, are the keys legit, google normally filters out that much spam so some must have some legitimacy
what's the story?

What's it like working help desk/front desk as an IT noob? I hear its awful but it can't be all that bad right?
>>56243970
its not bad at first but eventually all the people who refuse to help themselves or learn anything at all will wear your patience thin. You will start to get more and more bitter over time and probably eventually quit unless you can transfer to something more technical.

Fuck, you just described my mood today. My patience is way too thin to deal with fucking retarded questions anymore. I have been doing it for 2 years and i want to kill myself.

Alright mates. I know this isn't tech support but I may have lost two years of my life and I'm trying hard not to have a panic attack. The greens, the drawings, the 3D models, the tutorials, the picture collections and fond memories...
Here's the problem. I have a Seagate hard drive whose Windows recently died. Every time I tried to boot it, it gave me errors about missing or corrupt dlls. I tried repairing it with the Windows disc, but it couldn't repair it.
It tried booting up with another disk as primary, and it wouldn't boot.
So I tried connecting it as an external drive. It shows up seemingly fine as F, showing it's format (NTFS) and disk space. All the files on F:\ show up. The problem is that they have 0 size in their properties, can't be copied and whenever I try to go any deeper than that, Windows Explorer becomes unresponsive, being unable to both be shut down or restarted. The pc won't shut down or restart either when that happens.
I'm currently thinking about formatting the disk (if it'll let me do at least that) and trying to use recovery tools. Three problems with that though. 1) The recovered files will be corrupt or incomplete. 2) The recovered files won't retain their names and locations. 3) Copies. Copies everywhere.
So how can I salvage the data? Are there any good data recovery programs that can recover files with their original names and order/folder structure? Is it possible to access an external disk through command prompt and copy files to a healthy disk?

Is this normal? My case is 2 months old and I already cleaned it once, everything is dust-free and I have a very good case. How come all the temps are still this high?
Also is my CPU bottlenecking? I'm having problems running Planet Coaster.
We already have a speccy thread.

Linux computers are now officially outselling Macs now. Let that sink in.
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/may/23/chromebook-mac-google-pc-sales
>More Google Chromebooks are sold in the US than Apple Macs, according to the latest figures from analyst firm IDC.
>While few think of the company, famous more for its mobile and internet software, as a major creator of PC operating systems, the slimmed-down Chrome OS has powered almost 2m laptops sold to Americans in the first quarter of 2016, IDC told the Verge.
>By comparison, Apple sold 1.76m Macs in the same period.
>Chrome OS, the operating system that underpins the low-cost “chromebook” laptops made by manufacturers including Lenovo, HP and Dell, has taken a slow route to success. Initially announced in 2009, the operating system strips the computer back to just a web browser plus a small amount of local storage. Users are encouraged to use web apps like Google Docs and Photos instead of full desktop apps such as Microsoft Office.
>But while the first chromebooks came out in 2011, the operating system took a few years to take off, powering just 400,000 laptops sold in America in the first 11 months of 2012, and 1.76m in the same period of 2013.
