What is /g/'s opinion on carding?

Why do you guys support it like you support piracy? isn't this worse than piracy because you're literally stealing?

The verb carding isn't clearly defined. Explain what the fuck you are talking about.
>>
>>56251471
It's where you take a card, and run it through your ass. OP links it to piracy because he's a butt pirate.

ITT: Post books, videos, or anything related to learning a certain type of content. Feel free to review what you already have read/watched/etc.
FAQ:
>for what purpose?
Many threads dedicated to a specific topic contain little to no mention of where to start learning, yet are riddled with these types of questions.
>do we really need another reoccuring thread?
No, we don't but this is a useful thread so either filter it or come to terms with the idea that /g/ doesn't cater to your every need.

I like this kind of thing, I'm helping a little.

>Topic:
HTML, CSS, JS and JQuery

>Expierence in that field:
Do a few webs for 6 months. Basically codemonkey, also customization shit at home.

>Preferred type of resource:
Interactive, for me, but not CodeAcademy-like, that's kinda slow.

>Price range:
Totally free

>Review:
This is w3schools, is a web for the topic said above, mainly. It has some things more, it can teach you reading or can teach you trying shit. It also has (for example) useful link, if you're checking background-color for CSS, at the bottom you will have HTML tag, and JS-DOM links for background-color.

I hope I did it right.

What the fuck is going on with my screen color /g/?

Pic related. A couple things:
>after playing certain games, my screen turns these crazy colors
>I can fix it by going to the lock screen and unlocking it again
>had to take a picture of my screen as a screenshot looks normal
>I have 2 different monitors, and it happens to both of them
>only started happening recently, haven't changed anything that could affect it

Is it my color profile or is my gpu fucked? I just bought it so it could be doa.

ded gpu :(

If it were your monitors, it:
- wouldn't be happening on both of them
- wouldn't be impacted by a software change e.g. locking/unlocking

could it be something in software, like it switches to 16 or 8 bit somehow

What music/songs do you listen too when programing? I try to go for more atmospheric melodies myself. Like Vangelis Blade Runner Blues.

I always go for ambient or classical. retrowave is pretty good too. I listened to the coding radio on google music and it was all stereotypical 90's Hackerz, Matrix techno. I can't do that shit when I'm programming.

Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack. Anything else is wrong.

Serious question to those who own "gaming" laptops or really any high end laptop/ultrabook - Why?
I 100% understand wanting a laptop for watching netflix or taking notes in class, but wouldn't it be more economical to buy a chromebook and build your own high end desktop? Even the best ultrabooks pale in comparison to their desktop counterparts.
Laptops are meant to be portable, what would be the benefit of having an ultrabook as opposed to cheap laptop/chromebook+ custom desktop?

I have a high end desktop and a high end laptop.
The PC: self explanatory.
The laptop: There aren't many quad core i7 laptops that don't have GPUs out there (at least with what I have seen), and having a discreet GPU is actually beneficial in accelerated tasks and games if I want to play anything outside of home. Plus, richfag.

I want to but some chink shit but am concerned about using my debit card cause im a part time tinfoil.

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

With pic related specs, I'm going to do the following to get my slow 2010 device faster:
>get hdd caddy which replaces dvd drive with 2.5" slot
>install 250GB EVO SSD
>do fresh install of W7
>make sure to install OS on SSD

OR

>replace HDD with SSD- therefore keeping my lightly used dvd drive, although I use it probably once a year for ripping an odd CD or two
>do fresh install of W7 on SSD

Currently looking into (all on Newegg):
Average Caddy: ~$20 CAD
Samsung EVO 120GB: ~$80 CAD

Any suggestions on which is more cost effective / a better overall option / any tips in general?

Hey guys I'm selling 2 desktops, 1 is a gaming rig I built in 2011, radeon 6850 has and amd phenom black x2 quadcore. Along with a monitor speakers headset and accessories.

I'm wondering about a price point I want to throw it out for 500 but was thinking about sitting around for an offer for the ad I put up this morning for 1000.

Any advice?

Also I drive a smart car should I upgrade to a Buick?

What coding language should I learn as my introductory one? Right now I'm looking at doing c++, but CodeAcademy doesn't offer it. If you guys know any websites that teach you for free let me know.
>INB4 hurr durr just google learn c++ online free
I mean, you guys know the best avenues for learning this stuff, and I'd rather not get stuck on a shit website that only lets you use it for 60 minutes a day.
13 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
stop with the codeacademy meme. dont straight up start with C++, unless you have a purpose.

for general/learning, learn python. it's like writing in psuedocode and once you know what its like to write shit, work on some projects then spend time on C++, since C++ has actual concepts you have to learn to be efficient with it and will be much easier to breeze over the basics.
>>
>>56250925
You can use Codecademy and start learning Python as your first language.
Use it to learn about the syntax of the language, nothing more.

Use the Python docs for anything else and make some small projects first, make something that will be useful to you or someone else.

After that, you can learn more about the aspects of programming with C++, you'll learn about data types, low level programming, OOP and memory management.

>TL;DR
Make something first with an easy programming language.
Feel confident yet? Proceed with C++.
>>
>>56250925
Oh, I forgot to add: I learned html several years ago and I've had interest ever since.
>>56250955
Since when is CodeAcademy a meme? I thought you guys loved it since you could learn it online free.
And I do have reasoning, I'm a senior in High School and i'm looking at several different degrees at the moment, and 2-3 of them involve coding. I do know computer science is a meme, and it's better to just learn yourself, but something like computer engineering takes both physical and digital aspects. I don't know if you're required to take classes on certain languages, but I just want to get prepared so the classes aren't as hard going in. And I do actually like to code but I just never got into it until recently.
