So, could we have less "fat" programs nowadays or code monkeys are incapable of competent programming?

I'm looking for anyone with knowledge of brute forcing over LAN or Dell NSA appliances in general
I have a Network Security Appliance appliance to which I do not know the web configuration password, how feasible is a brute force attack over a LAN?
Additionally, any information about Dell sonic wall appliances in general would be appreciated.
1) Input random things in the input
2) Capture POST with wireshark
3) Write program to replicate the request and change the password field to use upper & lower case & numeric values. (You can also use special chars but that will take a while)
3) Compare the reply with the reply from step 1
4) Start multiple threads until the server starts replying with 404's
Should work but will take a while.
>>56250986
Yes, I know how to preform the brute force attack, but I have limited access to the network.
I was wondering the timeframe for an attack like this over a network.
I know that generated a rainbow table of 8 characters takes several days, so unless I am mistaken, running through all combinations of 8 letter combinations over network would take weeks, no?
>>56251039
You can calculate this if you know how much requests per second you can send without it 404'ing.
But yes this will take some time.

16gb here
If you set the ram usage to max it actually uses all of it without giving a shit about any other applications or the OS
I know that feel too well.
24GB in use here and I'm working on a single comic page.
Sure it's fairly massive, but it sure as shit doesn't warrant that much RAM usage.
Allow max RAM usage and it simply keeps on eating through RAM until it caps at 99%
I'm going to buy 64GB minimum when I get my next computer.
Probably just go straight for 128GB to give a lot of breathing room.
The old one was good, why not another?

I'm running with 8gb DDR3, A10-5800k, and an HD 7750. Should h.265 encoded videos @ 4k be unplayable? I'm getting audio playback with about 1 frame per 30 seconds. I'm using MPC-HC with the CCCP codec pack. I've been looking into it the past few days and I can't seem to find much on it. I can run 4K on youtube just about perfectly, so I'm baffled. My CPU usage hits 100% as soon as I open the video file. If it is just a bottleneck, will a simple CPU/mobo upgrade suffice?

Did done sir.

What the fuck?
I have a FX6300 and R9 270 (rebrand of a card around the same as yours) and I can play Dolphin Emulator @4K. Is video really that demanding?
Are you sure whatever you're using isn't somehow using integrated graphics?
Fresh install maybe? Convert to different format and try that way?
What's the best alarm app for Android? What do you use /g/?

Just use the stock one. Windows phone is the only platform where you can't rely on the built-in alarm app.

I'll have my Network+ and A+ soon, what types of employment should I look for?
(I know entry-level, I'm working on other certs too)
>>56250188
If you're getting both, then that opens a lot of opportunities.
If you got for Security+ afterwards you can do Information Security.
>>56250188
How much did u study?
Both at thew same time?
I mean personally I'd get A+ first and then get Network+ after working in the industry for a while. But hey if you can pull it off, more power to you.
>second day at code monkey job with WordPress
>guy sends me FTP information which has a number of wordpress sites in them
>shows me an example of one site with a child theme and a backed up style.css
>tells me to do that for the other ones
>tells me just to do it for the activated theme on those websites
>ask him which folders correspond to what sites
>ask for wp admin log in information for remaining sites to check which themes are currently activated and he tells me he sent me all the information I needed
>I have ftp information and the wp admin log in of two of the sites only
I'm not 100 percent sure if I'm misunderstanding all of this or he is.
The example child theme he created broke because he backed up index.php in the child theme to protect against it being overwritten in future upgrades of the parent theme but the theme relied on functions . php in the same theme and when he just copied it to the child theme he broke it because it referenced a function defined in the parent theme's functions.php and he didn't understand what that meant or why it wouldn't still work when he moved it.
Im not sure how to check what the currently activated theme with only ftp access to a group of folders. He said that was all I needed to complete the task.
I emailed him again asking for clarification and he repeated himself saying he gave me everything I needed and login information for the sites but I don't even know what all the sites are that he's running.
I just know two of them, and he wouldn't tell me except to say it's all in the ftp. wp-config? In total I sent probably three emails to the guy who handles technical things at the place and was told he gave me everything. The he told me to research wordpress.
I tried googling but nothing.
Asking a lot of questions is the surest way to piss off your boss.
Do you even wordpress?
>>56250226
I just wanted to know what corresponded to what and how I could tell what the activated theme was for a site if I only had access to the ftp folder and not anything else, not even the website or the login to the panel.

Second day using it.
What search engine have you been using lately? I used to use Google/DDG exclusively, but lately I've been using Bing more often.
The image searching is just so much better, I recently discovered you could use Bing to crop certain parts of an image to find images that match the cropped part. Their video search is also a lot better, since it isn't basically limited to youtube. Probably the biggest advantage though was they actually documented their "advanced search" operators in a reference with examples. e.g., word proximity, operator precedence and grouping, meta/HTML tag search, location search, etc. That shit is the bees knees.
Google. Tried startx but it was too slow. Feels shitty using it.
Bing is great for porn, and they have an ip: operator that shows everything hosted on a ip.
I've been using startpage
>>56250154
Yeah, the ip: operator is pretty nice. Then you can combine it with contains: to find all instances of that filetype indexed on that ip matching whatever other search terms you add.
So /g/ i'm broke as hell and i'm looking for a way to hack a vending machine

What the fuck is wrong with this world. Why would you want to drop the head phone jack. Wireless head headphones do not output better sound quality and even if the fact is that no phone put out good sound what happens when i need to charge and listen to music? What happens when my wireless dies? I have to wait for it to charge? What the fuck is going on? Whos behind this to make more money?
who said anything about dropping the headphone jack?
>>56250066
>What the fuck is wrong with this world.
WTF is wrong with you?
Obsessing over something that somebody said that Apple might/might not do?
Since when have you been an Apple fanboi?
If Apple does it then all the others will do it too.
"Normal" is a majority concept.
Just because you get rid of the 3.5mm jack doesn't mean suddenly you're forced to use wireless headphones....
USB type C headphones are a thing anon, they're actually better because instead of using your phone or MP3 players shitty built in DAC, they use the DAC the headphone manufacturer builds into it. So a high end manufacturer can just include a high end DAC in the device itself.
Also, USB Type-C has full analog signal passthrough, meaning you can just plug your 3.5mm headset directly into a passive adapter cable without anything special needing to be done.
The first phone with TWO USB Type-C ports (one for charging and one for an accessory such as headphones or speakers) will likely be my next phone.
hey guys,
I have a question. Say you just killed someone in your house and they have their phone on them. Is it possible to use that phone to make it look like they are still moving and... alive?
I'm asking for..... school. Yeeeaaaah, school.
Give it.. back Darnell?

Hide it in a randoms car. Make sure they're moving around your local area regularly. And make sure there are 0 fingerprints and 0 witnesses of your plating of this mobile.
Another option is to hide it in a truck, and watch it go cross country. Hiding it in the cabin will incriminate the driver.
