is windows 10 worth it over 7, g?
I'm doing a clean install and i'm wondering whether i should upgrade to 10 or stick with 7
Just fuck it and go with ME.
No Win10 isn't worth it. Install Win7x64. If you have Skylake then you might have to use Win10 due to how Intel is a shit company. Most motherboard manufacturers have a bios setting and a tool to install Windows 7 though. If you don't want Windows install Manjaro.
>>56240635
It's not. No improvements, messed up interface, too many resources wasted on spyware, way too much bloatware preinstalled. Keep Windows 7 but disable updates.
Just got 10 RFID cards from aliexpress and was wondering what to do with them.
Also, what is the best alarm app on android that uses RFID?
>>56240531
For an alarm app I use sleep as android. It's pretty good, and has more than nfc for alarm settings.
hahaha holy shit. why do you people buy shit from junk sites if you don't have any use in mind?
is this mindless accumulation of junk something you're taught or is it something you're born with?
>>56240531
>getting things before knowing what to do with them
It was probably $2 but still anon
I'm trying to make a program that converts Mips assembly code to its hexadecimal format
example:
Input: addi $s0, $s0, -16
Output: 2210fff0
This is what i have this farcout<<"Select the type that you want to change to Machine code:"<<endl<<"1.R-type"<<endl<<"2.I-type"<<endl<<"3.J-type"<<endl<<endl;
cin>>choice;
system("CLS");
switch (choice) {
case 1:
shamt=0;
op_code=0;
cout<<"Enter the fun code: "<<endl;
cin>>fun;
if(fun=="Add")
cout<<"32"<<endl;
else if (fun=="Sub")
cout<<"34"<<endl;
else if (fun=="And")
cout<<"36"<<endl;
else if(fun=="Or")
cout<<"37"<<endl;
else if (fun=="Nor")
cout<<"39"<<endl;
}
cout<<"Enter the registers (r2 , r3 , r1):"<<endl;
cin>>r2;
if (r2=="$t0")
cout<<"8"<<endl;
else if (r2=="$t1")
cout<<"9"<<endl;
else if (r2=="$t2")
cout<<"10"<<endl;
else if (r2=="$t3")
cout<<"11"<<endl;
else if (r2=="$t4")
cout<<"12"<<endl;
else if (r2=="$t5")
cout<<"13"<<endl;
else if (r2=="$t6")
cout<<"14"<<endl;
else if (r2=="$t7")
cout<<"15"<<endl;
//else if (r2=='$t1')
//cout<<"9"<<endl;
/*cout<<r2,r3,r1;
break;
case 2:
cout<<"wait";
break;
case 3:
break;
}*/
return 0;

Does Apple respect my privacy?
>>56240522
More than Microsoft
Less than Free Software
yes
>apple fights for your rights and even defies the federal government
>microsoft willingly and pre-emptively shares all your private data with the NSA
>>56240538
basically this. google, microsoft, facebook, and other tech companies generally have huge stakes in advertising. many sell hardware, but their primary income is from ads.
apple has its business flipped. as a result, there's no (apparent) motivation for them to track you or otherwise infringe on your privacy.
My 660ti just died. Should I get a 480 or a 1060? Never had an amd card before
>>56240501
Grow up and use integrated graphics
>>56240501
The 1060 is faster, cooler and more power efficient right now.
The 480 might improve with better drivers to the point that it will be the faster card in two years.
How bad is Windows 10, really? I'll use it for gaming / multimedia and browse the net / program / work on a dual booted linux distro. Should I rather go for 7? How long till drivers etc. become discontinued for 7?
It's shit xDDDDDD
Why stop at 7? Just install XP
windows 7 is supported until 2020 and it still has more users than 10, so not anytime soon
>/etc/config
Yeah, OK, linfags on suicide watch blah blah blah
I'll still be using it.

It's over for Intel, they are finished.
AMD seems more daring with cache association and the L3.
This is pretty much the largest difference with SKL/BRD
>>56240385
>L0 cache
Isn't that the uOP cache?
I need some help.
I'm about to install the Tails OS from a Windows OS. It says that I need 2 USB sticks, but at the moment I have just one. Can I use the cellphone as the 2nd stick on this installing process?
>>56240356
I think so. What is the usb adapter on your cellphone?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-raid-benchmark,3485-11.html
Why raid SSD doesn't give any real boost in loading windows and applications? Is it because it's bottlenecked by cpu?
Pic unrelated.
I can't believe /g/ doesn't know answer for that.
>>56240637
We do, but your question doesn't deserve its own thread.
>>>/g/sqt

Nice
What are we going to do to continue advancing after 2022 when cpu's reach the atomic scale?
Is there any solution available?
Also does anyone have any charts that display technological advancement in the 2010's? It seems like transistor count/GFLOPS per dollar charts all stop at around 2011, is this because there has been no advancement in the last 5 years?
Intel will release their stashed photonic stuff and bankrupt ayyymd.
Here's a chart displaying the 'Solar Miracle' that has been happening over the last 5 years.

You can really tell this was made when intel just pushed P4 our like there no tomorrow trying to squeeze out moar gigahurtz

if they don't help you just look at the source and documentation help files of the project/company and figure it out no matter how long it takes. (productivity should be the least of your concerns starting your first real job)
if you give up too easily this if you can't get help, this field is not for you (how did you pass college?)
