Has anyone used an Amazon Locker?

I don't know how much longer I'll be staying where I'm staying and I wanna pre order a game with special edition I don't wanna miss out on.

Are they reliable?

i use it when i'm interning someplace over the summer and want to ship stuff to wherever i am (last summer and the summer before that i was in the bay area and then seattle). it's good. reliable. some large packages aren't eligible but it works for a short-ish period of time if you just need medium/small things. i don't even remember the size of the thing i wanted to get that couldn't be delivered to the amazon locker, but i remember thinking that it made sense since it was kind of big, so it's not like you'll get that sort of error trying to ship a bike helmet or something.

there might be a limit on expensive stuff, but i don't think there is. i just haven't ever tried it, and i could imagine them not being that confident in their lockers' security. but in practice i've never had a problem (whereas delivery people have definitely left my shit just outside my apartment building for anyone to grab now in my "permanent" housing)

currently do level 2 tech support at a company that uses a 100% linux environment
want to learn more linux networking stuff, so I need to get a network set up at home, but dont want a giant stack of towers on top of each other- ideally I have a uniform rack that I can put devices into as necessary, like a switch and then some nodes or whatever im doing with my network at the time
...but I also want to have a half-decent home PC or two, maybe one running linux the other windows, for dev projects, and maybe something I can throw a dcent graphics card in so I can play unreal tournament on the weekends?

Where should I start looking for this? I want basically a small rack I can put stuff with a decent price-performance ratio in, ideally last-gen server hardware or something like that.

I work at a POS equipment company
I SSH into sites and fix network issues all day basically
not sure where you should look, it's weird... im stuck in tech support but have learned shitloads about linux and want to start breaking out into kernel development
I got lucky I think
I got contacted by a recruiter, I put that I had linux exp on my resume even tho I only knew desktop stuff (literally from installing gentoo a bunch of times) and I guess that predisposed me to working in an environment that was linux heavy

I am getting serious jittering during video playback with my set up when there's even moderate movement on the screen or any time an image pans across a scene. I've tried all the different video players available, all my drivers are up to date, and I've tried all the different settings in the drivers, and it's not so much that nothing seems to help. There is absolutely no effect on the jitter, no matter what player I use, what settings I change, or anything.

This was a custom build I put together a few years ago with the main purpose of being used as a media center and I've always kind of tolerated the jitter, but as video codecs have gotten more advanced over the years and releases have gotten bigger (Hi10P 1080p, etc.), it's gotten more noticeable. I've gotten to the point where I'm just sick of it. Some component in the computer is not functioning correctly and I intend to fix it. Which thing should I upgrade/replace first? The video card? Processor? RAM? Maybe the motherboard? Any recommendations as to recommended parts? I'm not gaming with this, but I don't want videos to jitter whenever there's movement on the screen.

Wait a month or two; Apple is going to announce some sort of overhaul of the macbooks, so other companies will have to do some sort of refresh as well.

Don't buy the latest one, but buy a pre-refresh model of whatever you want when the prices drop.

Probably best to represent the grid as a 1 dimensional array. Create a list of all of the valid positions / rotations of the pieces, and find a set of disjoint arrays whose union is an array of all 1's.

IMO all their naming convention is shitty.

How I do it:

global variables:
G_STRING_variablename
G_ARRAYCHAR_variablename

local variables:
L_STRING_variablename
L_ARRAYINT_variablename

local pointer:
L_P_INT_variablename

parameters:
P_P_INT_variablename -> this one is a pointer
P_INT_variablename

This way is much easier to know whatever i'm dealing with.

Function names:

always with capslock: DO_XXX_YYY()

the notion of evaluating style guides by anything external or "objective" is retarded. it's useful as a way of framing your code so that it's internally consistent. the only real evaluation you can apply to it is essentially whether it contains any logical conflicts, like two conflicting rules applying to something.

the style guide is as good as anything else, but if you don't like it then use another one. if none exists, then use it for lack of an alternative.
>>
You've obviously never had to work in the same project with a bunch of people.

The retarded shit I've seen justifies all the naming conventions you want.

How good is AMD's A9-9410 processor?
>>
>>56237266
For...?

It doesn't look objectively terrible. Passmark shows performance equal to a high end desktop C2D, so it should get by for most things. That says nothing about what its price/performance looks like, though.

How do I stop the forced updates on windows 10?

I'm working with a company computer and all of a sudden in the middle of me uploading video files to the work server it decided that it wanted to download 3-4 updates on it's own without any pause or cancel and schedule an automatic restart 30 minutes from now.

I have a lab manual with one of my classes this semester.
I went to the publisher's website and found the answer key to the lab manual for sale "for instructors only."
Basically, on top of paying $35 you had to be able to prove you were a college professor teaching this publisher's material in your course.
Signing up for an account with a 10 minute mail and without much effort at all (seriously, I'm a fucking retard and I can't believe what I tried fucking worked holy SHIT) I gained access to the key in 5 parts in .pdf format ON THE PUBLISHER'S SITE. All I did was look at the source code for the link, pick out a .pdf, and copied it into the URL bar. And there it was.

Anyway, not expecting it to work, I brought it up in a tab on FireFox. I couldn't believe it and let the tab stay open about 15 minutes before I realized I wasn't doing anything to ensure anonymity and closed it. I'm afraid I could be traced and ultimately identified and thrown out of class/barred from ever getting in to this program again.

Can I be traced/caught by doing this?
Is there any risk?
I save all 5 direct links, but I'm hesitating to save the documents to my hd because I'm so fucking paranoid. How fucked am I and how could I get these documents without worrying about getting caught/calledout/fucked?

>>

I should note that the account with the fake email wouldn't have gotten me anywhere as far as proving myself a professor goes, i just made it to get access to the site in general, I'm not sure I needed it for dick.
