So let me get this straight.

The RX480 has:
-More VRAM
-Is cheaper
-Performs 10% better in DX12
-Based on an architecture that is known for improving over time

Vs the 1060 having
-Performs 2% better in DX11
-Less power usage
-By a brand known to GIMP their cards overtime


So aside from a build that has a tiny PSU, is everybody else just buying a 1060 due to brand loyalty? A few years from now, I imagine the 480 will perform significantly better than the 1060.

I understand community college degrees are worthless save for transfer opportunities (Columbusfag, I can transfer to tOSU, so what should I do? Am I too old to learn Java/Droid dev? Could I get some money as an employed person, or would I have to freelance? Or should I forget about web dev and programming because it's just too late for old losers to change in today's world?

On the other hand I thought I could chip away at a Plant Pathology degree and get a job growing pot. Perhaps some programming in my background (a cert or two) would make me more appealing to the medical mj industry? None of the biology/ag kids seem to get jobs, they just go to grad school and muh poor person.

was looking for a CLI media player, started reading about ncmpcpp, learned about mpd

Is this a thing? Could this be a thing?

>create a build script or something like that for an exposed mpd server
>anyone with enough disk can spin one up anywhere
>server aggregates music from the rest of the nework
>new material verified by peers, source subscription config if you don't have enough disk
>anyone with an mpd client could connect to any of them, or be routed to best server, or whatever
>any neckbeard could stream anything from any of them for free
