What can you even do on Linux aside from ricing your desktop and pretending that you're a programmer?

Actually write programs.

>pretending that you're a programmer
I actually am a programmer.
Also, I've written a bunch of bash scripts that automate a bunch of shit, like sorting and fetching anime from my home server.
That would not be viable on the winmeme.

Is there any way to improve graphics performance of a VM, besides disabling DWM/Aero of the host (which isn't possible in W10)?
8 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Depends really what you want it for and what your hardware/ software setup is.

With a Linux host you can have full 3d/ 2d acceleration via virgl (currently only Linux guest support)

Intel GVT-g just hit mainline, this allows Intel GPU virtualization much in similar way the CPU is handled currently, this supports any guest that has Intel drivers.

If you have multiple GPUs, you can use vfio to passthough one of them into the VM for native graphics performance.

Even without these fancy new technologies, virt-manager defaults to using the spice protocol, which has 2d acceleration on both windows and Linux guests.

I have no idea about windows hosts, windows is pure trash.

Freebsd has absolute trash virtualization, not that anything works anyway, so I guess it fits in with the rest of the feature set.

it's ok I've been doing this for past 7 years, recently I gave up for good, it's just not possible if you suffer from depression and other serious condition

a shame therapy and medication doesn't help at all in my case

I'll just stick to anime and video games and hope for a quick and painless death in my sleep some day

Are Agile/Scrum/Six sigma/all that a meme?

They all sound like a huge meme sold by consultants to tech illiterate managers and higher-ups. Is there any merit to them?

So /g/ my whole life I've been using Windows and I really want to make the jump to Linux however I still want to be able to play all my vidyas that I play on Windows. What I'm wondering is if WINE is any good for doing this (Playing Windows only games on Linux) I've read about it and there seems to be issues with Direct X and Microsoft.NET so I'm wondering if it's even worth it or if there are ways to fix the issues if I encounter them.
