So long story short I've tried a lot of public software over the internet for disabling spying issues on windows 10.Now I'm at this conclusion that if you want to do something, you should do It by yourself so, I started writing a powershell script that once is executed it disables all unwanted services, add firewall rules, blacklists all microsoft servers and clears your pc from spying software that is installed by default in your windows 10. Once I've done the script I will publish this back here for you guys to try it on a VM or smth.
Merry Christmas /g/ !
you do realize that exists already right
>>58175934
Retard, I've already said I tried them all already.

I mean I'll try it sure. Basically running a "fresh" windows 10 install now.

Why has Apple been making so many mediocre products lately?
I distinctly remember back around 09 everyone was predicting the death of Windows.
Tablet or laptop for studying?
I'm not someone who uses retarded new technology for taking notes in a fancy way or uses some machine to read pdf files, but I find myself needing internet to google shit and watch lectures all the time. My phone is shit and too small for it, and the computers in uni are always used and I waste time trying to find places to study than actually studying. Has anyone experienced similar problems and what do you prefer? Tablet seems like the option I'm leaning toward because it lays flat on the table and I don't need to read shit at an awkward angle while I'm trying to write stuff down or simultaneously read a textbook. I haven't used a tablet for studying so maybe there are issues that I haven't even considered, or a laptop is just straight up a better option. I can't decide.
Get a Thinkpad and install Arch
I use a lenovo 100s for school, it's cheap and fast (runs on a 32gb SSD) but that's all i need to taking notes and having a few tabs open simultaneously, got mine for 100 bongs, the screen also bends to 180 degrees meaning you can have it flat on a table as well
I bought the microsoft surface, not for taking notes cause I dont take notes. But mostly to do researches on google, to watch the powerpoint slides of the course, or to get access to my pdf.
I prefer the tablet cause its tinier than a laptop, and I can read in portrait mode. If I got to write a paper, then I'll be using my PC. Don't forget that talets arent specially made to read documents, so your eyes will be tired easily
> pic related, tablet to watch the slides, and paper notes to study
How do multiple cores help increase performance? Why are 4 cores @ 1GHz faster than 1 core @ 4GHz?
>>58175819
Fuck off stupid weaboo.
>>>/sqt/
>>58175826
It's not a stupid question or I would've posted it there.
>>58175819
clock comparison will depend on the architecture scaling. more cores will only be faster if the load can actually be distributed.

Never in all my years of buying Apple have I seen a laptop so shit. Discuss

Ahh, so it's end times. My bad, carry on.
>>58175807
You had a Quadra 950? Was your family loaded?
I'm switching from ubuntu mate to windows for better music and video making software but after installing windows 7 on an x240 it's impossible to even connect to a network
the only driver that manages to work is the hd graphics one and aside from that i'm getting error messages and absolute non-functionality
so it looks like windows 8 is my only option, it can't be that much worse than windows 7, right?
also why do people always say that windows just works and linux is more hassle?
pretty much every distro i've installed works perfectly out of the box
only way to make windows work without hassles is to have the latest hardware that is available at the time the os comes out. trying to install it on hardware used on a previous windows version will always cause problems/slowness/bsod.
Which laptop model have you got?
Win 8.1 ain't bad, go for it
Also, what >>58175911 said. If the laptop was released with Win 8.1, then going back to Windows 7 will likely require tinkering
W8.1 its alright
Some times the metro interface will collapse rendering the start button unusable but I'm sure whatever software you want to run will work on there.
Is there an updated version of this for 2016/2017?
>>58175687
no just kill yourself and get a blackberry.
Linux Deploy and install Gentoo

>Fuck you check out my sick maymays!!! XDDD
Off yourselves. It's a legitimate question.
I give up /g/. after a year of trying out linux I give up. I've tried ubuntu, kubuntu, arch, manjaro and debian.
I can't do anything productive because whenever i try to do something like opencv or cuda programming it fucks something else up and I have to fix it. And fuck me right for trying to do something on linux because when I ask for help "nope that's not an official repo, you broke it" is the mentality.
It's over I can do everything I need to do in windows.

So I decided to buy a scam thumb drive from ebay. Y'know, for the shits and giggles. I recieved it recently but the usb size was too fucking short. Ah well. Guess I'll never see what size it actually was.
Just remove the plastic casing.
Just going to say, the one on the left (16gb) is the real one

Why don't houses have more than one ethernet port. They should have one for each bedroom. Looks like I will have to get an extra long cord to reach my ethernet port

I have 4 outlets in my bedroom, 4 in work room, 8 in my living room, 2 in the kitchen, 2 in the hall way. There's a patchpanel in the breaker box where 10GB fiber is split. I love my newly constructed condo.
