who the fuck does this
I realized that I'm pretty much the only person who touch types and has only two tabs at most open at a time.

I bookmark g/sqt/ + /#p<post number> because it will still be there a day or two later, even tho clearing my cache/cookies gives amnesia to the thread watcher.

Should I cuck my wallet up and dish out for the iPad since she's already acquainted with the iOS?
Or should build her a weak PC?
Or should I just buy her an android tablet and hope she can maneuver through it?
Keep in mind, she only uses it to check her email once a month and order pills online.
I don't want to spend more than $250.
>>58710054

she won't be able to use TOR on an ipad

They've got scam sites that use subscription based services that administer prescriptions.

Stop being a cheap faggot and get her an Alienware with at least an SSD you ungrateful little shit.
Why is it that pretty much every Nvidia optimized game in recent memory runs like complete ass at launch, but AMD optimized games seem to receive universal praise for how well they run?
Is this really the way it's meant to be played, guise?

hello,
i dont usually ask /g/ much but..
I am looking for a HDMI or maybe Displayport Switch that is like the one in my picture, but obviously not a USB.
Ive searched and searched for one and not been able to find one.
Im looking for a HDMI with a switch on it so it switches off completely.
ive tried a switch box but it dosen't work when i try and switch it off it dosen't work unless there is another hdmi source plugged in.
would I have to make one by cutting a hdmi cable in half and adding a switch?
if so which pins would I have to switch off would it be all of them or just the power wire.
thanks in advance
>>58709778
Why do you need it
If you could find one with a knob it will probably do what you want.
I'd suggest just using an hdmi extension cable and just pull them apart and put them back together as needed.

I use a monitor and a TV connected to my computer, whenever I play games on the TV i have to unplug the monitor each time because the games wont display to the 2nd monitor without messing around. the tv is always connected with the monitor.
the easiest way of displaying the games to the tv is to unplug the monitor so that the picture is a one display.
I dont want to potentially break my graphics card by keep unpluging and replugging the cable each time.
I am aware you can display games to the 2nd monitor but I dont want to have to keep configuring the settings.
the only thing that would sort the problem is a cable that can be switched on or off.
Sup /g/,
Got $2,500 from Uni disbursement. Recently need a good (video-editing, gaming, personal, work) laptop [notice I said laptop cause I dont need a RIG cause I'm traveling].
I've been researching heavily for 6 months/waiting for one that seems to be worth the transition from my current one and now I believe Alienware still is prestigious in terms of price point/quality/build/aesthetics. So now I'm about to purchase an Alienware R3 15" 7th Gen Kaby Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ, GTX 1070 w 8GB GDDR5 $1791.00 after Uni discount, 10% discount and 3% off discount and taxes/shipping.
Convince me not to buy it or get a better/different model (looking at R2, Razer shit, MBP 15" 2015 Top specs, Dell GTX 1060, JASUS Rog trash, Lenovo Chinkpads, or anyother shit) that's worth more than it
A HP with a decent GPU is more than enough for gaymen.

>>58709422
HP is garbage, don't bother with them. Get a Dell.
yeah get the Alienware with the OLED display, should be pretty comfy

Post your component list, rate other anons', and ask questions in general.
Always state the purpose of your PC, your budget, AND YOUR COUNTRY if outside the USA.
If you are asking for improvements, clarify whether you want to lower price or to improve specs or build quality.
Assemble your parts list; built-in price comparisons by vendor and a compatibility filter.

Have a budget, but don't know where to start? This will recommend you a parts list based on price.

Thats a shitload of volts for an Intel chip - possibly dangerously so.
I have heard for years about how windows kicks macs ass as a gaming platform which is obvious.
But i never have heard anyone argue how mac is better than windows in other ways.
What advantages if any does Mac have over Windows?

Is it even possible to help somebody with shit internet?
My sister is in Canada and wants me to edit some video files for her. We tried Google drive and it was too slow to handle a 10gb file. Then MEGA, same thing. Then Resilio Sync, same shit.
She's getting about 300 kbps upload at her apartment and her university. At this rate, it says it'll take days to transfer the files which she does not have the time for. Am I doing something wrong or is Canada's internet just trash? Is there any way I can possibly help her?
>>58708888
She flies out to you.
This is the only viable option if this is supposed to get in days, and your internet is shit.
Alternatively you can fly to her campus.
>>58708917
God damn it
Yeah I assumed I was pretty much fucked. Do you guys know if Canada just has notoriously pathetic Internet?
I assumed her uni would have decent speed but it seems like a nationwide epidemic

Reminder that if you're on the market for a used Thinkpad and you don't consider the thinkpad of Macbooks, you're doing it wrong.

>>58708882
1600x900 is a better resolution, but the viewing angles are worse. Also 16/10 aspect ratio is better on laptops.
>>58708979
yeah but 800p? i'd go for a late 2013 rMBP with 8gb ram and 256GB SSD as minimum.
Macbooks with 4gb of ram and 128 of storage are a scam.
Paid 100 dollars for an used MSI GTX 780 to upgrade from my GTX 660.
Did I do good?
>>58708654
Yeah, not bad considering 750 Ti cards go for the same price.
>>58708654
not even a little
>>58708654
For an extra $100 you could of gotten a GTX 1060 3gb which is way better.
