Why is it that pretty much every Nvidia optimized game in recent memory runs like complete ass at launch, but AMD optimized games seem to receive universal praise for how well they run?

hello,

i dont usually ask /g/ much but..

I am looking for a HDMI or maybe Displayport Switch that is like the one in my picture, but obviously not a USB.

Ive searched and searched for one and not been able to find one.

Im looking for a HDMI with a switch on it so it switches off completely.

ive tried a switch box but it dosen't work when i try and switch it off it dosen't work unless there is another hdmi source plugged in.

would I have to make one by cutting a hdmi cable in half and adding a switch?

if so which pins would I have to switch off would it be all of them or just the power wire.

Got $2,500 from Uni disbursement. Recently need a good (video-editing, gaming, personal, work) laptop [notice I said laptop cause I dont need a RIG cause I'm traveling].

I've been researching heavily for 6 months/waiting for one that seems to be worth the transition from my current one and now I believe Alienware still is prestigious in terms of price point/quality/build/aesthetics. So now I'm about to purchase an Alienware R3 15" 7th Gen Kaby Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ, GTX 1070 w 8GB GDDR5 $1791.00 after Uni discount, 10% discount and 3% off discount and taxes/shipping.


Convince me not to buy it or get a better/different model (looking at R2, Razer shit, MBP 15" 2015 Top specs, Dell GTX 1060, JASUS Rog trash, Lenovo Chinkpads, or anyother shit) that's worth more than it

I have heard for years about how windows kicks macs ass as a gaming platform which is obvious.

But i never have heard anyone argue how mac is better than windows in other ways.

What advantages if any does Mac have over Windows?

Is it even possible to help somebody with shit internet?

My sister is in Canada and wants me to edit some video files for her. We tried Google drive and it was too slow to handle a 10gb file. Then MEGA, same thing. Then Resilio Sync, same shit.

She's getting about 300 kbps upload at her apartment and her university. At this rate, it says it'll take days to transfer the files which she does not have the time for. Am I doing something wrong or is Canada's internet just trash? Is there any way I can possibly help her?

>can run Windows natively (and I guess Linux if you're into that)

No other macbook is worth considering (expect maybe Air if you want an ultrabook), but this is.
