use scp or rsync. The base copy command is unreliable anyway.

is that like soft cp or something?

Where'd you learn that?

Is this what it feels like to be a cuck?
>>58716494
My laptop has a touch screen and I never use it, nor I bought the laptop because of this.
Touchscreen is for retarded mongols and hipster nu-males. Prove me wrong, you can't.

Have you tried lockpicking? Do you own any lockpicks?
>>58716229
Tinkered with it about a year ago for a month then I got bored of it. Probably going to kill myself in the next five years or so anyway so fuck it.
>>58716229
Friend of mine was into it as a minor hobby during high school. I fiddled around with some of the basic tools on a padlock he would carry specifically to practice unlocking.
I've got to say, the tools and picks really work. Worryingly easily, too.
But it is a fun little hobby to get into. You can get small pick sets for fairly cheap.

Are you a faggot or something?
/g/, I want a stupid little netbook-sized laptop to fuck around with Linux on to learn a thing or two. What's the best manufacturer/model for cheapo small sized laptops? I know about Eee PC and Thinkpad, that's about it.
won't let me post without a picture
X60
Buy a x200/10/20/30. They all should be availile for under $300
>>58716455
I'm looking at ebay listings and they all look pretty nasty. They're either really greasy or e.g. the paint where your palms rest is missing from all the human skin oil.
Gross.
>spend $330 on a used ThinkPad™ because /g/ and /tpg/ assure me its a great purchase
>the screen is shit and the keyboard is shit too
>TrackPoint™ is retarded
>the battery doesn't last more than two hours
>thing is thick as fuck, any hopes of using it in public were crushed the second I unboxed it
>generally looks and feels like an appliance someone would donate to an autistic school
>is sticky as fuck, even after cleaning it with rubbing alcohol
>the case is cracked despite the seller saying it was in great condition
When did you realise that /g/ in general pretty much knows fuck all about anything? When it comes to software they recommend overly complicated garbage and for hardware they just meme housefire shit.

>Listening to anons advices
i'm gonna assume you got a t420/30 or x220/30. anything else is a whole other discussion about why you're an idiot:
used thinkpads are a great $150 laptop, so you overpaid, to start.
no one else seems to be having problems with the quality of the keyboard or pointer. maybe you didn't know what you really wanted?
the battery that came with your thinkpad is likely 5+ years old. everyone replaces it or lives with it. 2 hours isn't too bad for a battery that old
i'm surprised you didn't research the dimensions of what you bought (for $180 more than you should've). why are you bitching about its design after the fact? you knew what it was going to look like. PS nobody cares what your laptop looks like, don't be so insecure
is there actual sticky residue that isn't coming off, or do you not know what the thinkpad case coating is supposed to feel like?
looking HARD at auction pics for damage and parsing a sellers' definition of "great condition" is your responsibility. you don't put a lot of thought into your purchases, do you?
the only criticism you have that might hold water is the shitty screen. that's a compromise we make for a $150 laptop (that you paid $330 for). the ips in this x220 looks pretty ok for the price ($120, not $300)

My thought: it's shit
My advice: look for better
Walk 360° away, and turn around
I find Python to be perfect for making a solution to a problem, easily and quick.
The syntax provides enough sugar for HR drones to understand what it does. That said, I have a small few problems:
1. The performance for a normal Python distribution is sometimes subpar.
2. Some of the packages installed with pip require a compiler for it to compile a dependency. If said compiler is not easily available for pip, the installation is botched.
3. With all the sugar-syntax it's hard to find a "correct" way.
Did you have one of those motherfuckers back in the day, /g/?
Pops was a general contractor and we found one in a house that had minor flooding damage and it was game to take. Put it in my room and it put out so much fucking heat in an enclosed space. But I still loved it.
Grandparents had one of these. Best place to hide behind in hide and seek.
