Doom wasn't AMD optimized, it was just optimized. AMD optimization would be something like Dirt rally, or deus ex

if i had to guess i'd say it's because doom looked great and ran at high frame rates, even at launch before they implemented the vulkan build, whereas batman arkham knight looked bad, ran slowly on even very high end setups with nvidia cards, and was nearly unplayable without an ssd.

The first tomb raider in the "laura craft dies violently" reboot series was AMD optimized, yes. It even had a mantel version and featured that tressFX thing.

But the sequel that came out more recently is a gameworks title and AMD hardware usually lags a bit behind nvidia's.

I "upgraded" my fx 4170 to an 8320 in November. At the same clockspeeds it's hardly faster and bottlenecks my Fury like crazy. Even a 470 would be bottlenecked by this thing.

If you want a super cheapo build get that overclockable pentium. Otherwise wait for zen. You can't even get a mini itx AM3+ board anyway.
