Does being on the spectrum make one a better programmer?
Yeah you are better with patterns.
No you are too obsessed with little niggles and can never finish
>>60939160
"Make" no
"Contribute to" yes.
You don't get magic programming powers just by being autistic, and not all autists have the necessary capability to even begin coding. However, if you've got the right amount of autism, with the right mind for it, autism just makes it so you're more focused and devoted to programming.
Autism doesn't make a good programmer, it merely adds potential.
i work with a medically diagnosed autist, and no, he's terrible at everything.
He is an encyclopedia of computer knowledge, but can't stay in his chair for more than 5 minutes.

Hello /g/, my current understanding of computer science and programming isn't where I'd like it to be. I know only a little about various subjects related to computers and technology but I want to learn more. I'm doing nothing this summer so I figured I'd teach myself as much as possible. The attached pic was recommended to me as a good introduction to CS and I'm wondering if I could get opinions on it or if there's a better way of going about this. I'm looking to accumulate a good pool of general knowledge so I'm willing to learn anything from deeper theoretical stuff to programming languages or even cyber security.
There really aren't any related threads so I figured I'd start a new one, basically a resource thread for beginners.

Why C and not C++
What are the real differences?
looks pretty and a lot nicer than previous versions
it's a shame nothing has any frames or boundairs so u cant tell when a button ends or where to click on some areas.

I really hope they've made some improvements to their Max 4 Live API. I'm stuck on doing some things like bulk loading a set of files to specific clips from a file path.

Problem is there's also stil music playing over it at first, how can i silence solely the cheering?
is there any progress on this?
miss the discussions from about a year ago.

Don't you know cloverOS exists? It even has a decent logo

Please help. My laptop has been like this since yesterday. I was just using it in our cafe when I put it in sleep mode. I tried turning it back on and now... this. I am in this loop with no advance options and I don't want anyone to find out my gay daddy porn collection (last sentence was a joke, don't worry). So please help!
Take it to Geek Squad.

What are your ideas about AI? Anyone here is familiar with this topic?
https://cloutos.com/blog/artificial-intelligence-startup/
why isn't anyone yet training a generator on the data that is available at /r/OnOff
It's le best and most prospective field of CS today =DDDDDD
Every time I read "startup" I can only think of:
scam scam scam

The power of RISC.
All that to run reduced functionality applications with no file system access.
Amazing.
How often do you upgrade your computer? also some GUTS
I was thinking of upgrading my CPU and Motherboard to get some sweet DDR4
Current Specs (Pic related)
>i7960 - overclocked a little 3.6ghz
>MSI STRIX GTX970
>16GB DDR3
>Huntekey 750watt PSU
>Hyper212evo cooler.
Still able to run most AAA on ultra between 30 - 70 FPS.

I need a lighter, more efficient laptop. Currently lugging around a Fujitsu Lifebook AH532, I love the thing but it's a fucking brick, and the battery life is like 2 hours now.
My requirements are:
>light
>portable
>good screen
>decent trackpad
>long battery life
>good linux support
>$200-300. Ideally $200, but I'll pay a little more for quality.
I'm currently trying to decide between
>buying a chromebook and putting linux on it
>getting a Thinkpad x220 or x240
Any opinions here?
>>60938319
Go to Dell's outlet site and get a Latitude E7250 for like $300.
