Reply me a better distro than gentoo
Windows 10

It's rainy and I just came from work.
I'm upgrading my computer, but I don't want to upgrade the case.
My friend tells me water cooling has come a long way, so I've thought about buying a 240mm long radiator and trying to put it into bay which holds the 120mm fans at the front of the case.
Has anyone done this? How feasible is it?
>>60941973
You will need to cut some of the metal from the front of the case, and because the bay covers are attached to the hdd trays, you'll need to remove each one and screw them in, in kinda a ghetto way, I had that case and modded the hell out of it.
It's not worth doing, just get an NH-D14.
>>60943341
No joke.
I can't be the only one here who likes to work with old computers. What are you working on /g/. I have a NEC PC-98 Xa7 which i am waiting for a CF to ide adapter to save me from dying HDDs. i also a waiting for a new cpu for my c64 as the old one freezes up under slight loads.
>>60941943
>What are you working on /g/?
My current project is my Thinkpad 760L, gonna put a CF-IDE adapter in it

also that new drive looks nice
hello /g/
i have a laptop and i have had it since 2012 i usually like 10 times or more a day close it and open it like putting it on slumber/sleep mode or i just open and close the laptop lid
and how many times can i do that before it dies it has a harddrive btw
>>60941901
>sleep mode
Does not affect the HDD.
>>60942025
okay but i heard like the capacitors or something constantly opening and closing the comptuter doesn't that drain something over time or?
This feels so good.
Yeah, if only it wasnt such a bug ridden piece of crap. But it sure looks nice when it works for 5min and all the settings are in perfect agreement.
>>60942362
Examples pls.
what traffic app do you use?

One that doesn't have calves and ankles like totem poles.
GNU+Car
One that doesn't show me 3DPD shit.
Sup /g/, I fell for this meme about a year ago, but I'm having problems (self-diagnosed, potentially not real problems)
My card doesn't go above 81C, upon googling I read that it was designed to hit 94C under load. You might be thinking "so it operates well what's the problem?", but I believe in actuality that my card is throttling its performance upon hitting 80+
What I want to know is how to stop it from doing that, how do I let my card let itself get to potentially dangerous temperatures? (Or in this case design spec temperatures)
Googling this problem has led me to people discussing completely different issues and I have nowhere left to turn
81 is still a fucking fireball, you never want to be close to designed limits.
if urs gets that hot, you should replace the thermal paste on the gpu with some good shit and get whatever dust in the heatsink out
>>60941865
This. You should never go above 65, even if you leave Furmark on for 48 hours.
>>60941881
>>60941865
I'm just using stock cooling, it hits 81 obviously while doing the most intensive things that I do
point is I want to get crazy
DANGEROUS

How come XP gets to the desktop faster when I use the win2k style logon?
Win2000 has less bloat.
Can I learn Deutsch with this
nein, kannst du nicht.
>>60941547
What's the deal with sind?
du bist
er ist
das sind?
Also do I need to learn grammar and rules or can I just assume brain will eventually get it on its own
>>60941575
"sind" is compareable to "are".
"das sind" = "they are". "du bist" = "you are", "er ist" = "he is".
Is Google capable of at least imitating some basic ai, or they just throw unlimited computing power at problems and hope some montecarlo performs better than bruteforcing, or at least no one will will call them out?
I mean, this is the wikipage of the supposedly best human player no one heard of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Sedol , color me unimpressed.
Could DeepMind produce e.g. a fundamentally different chess engine that at least put up fight against modern engines? I don't think so.
>but muh GAI singualrity
so what is the best way to profit from the ML meme? Drive up hype and sell high?

Second for I'm really not looking forward to updating debian servers next week.
>>60942037
I don't think anyone serious would update any machine not even mentioning production servers within a month of release change.
Hi. Im a long time Apple user. Recently I have changed over to using Windows PC's. I dont use tablets anymore.
And now the phone scenario appears. Today I use iPhone SE. But im strongly considering galaxy s8.
Would that be a mistake or the greatest decision I ever made?
>>60941408
Pixel = OnePlus > Galaxy > Other Androids > iShit
2015 iPhone 6S takes a shit on S8's head when it comes to speed

Thanks Linux!

font?
I've done a little googling on this but there are millions of similar but not similar issues.
Anyway. Basically I share my net connection with my housemate. We both watch Netflix. We both also do other things such as game.
However, when he watches Netflix it doesn't really effect my ability to browse or play games, or anything, or I should say, doesn't at all.
However when I watch Netflix it completely bottlenecks the entire network and i'm not sure why.
The only difference is for some reason I can't watch Netflix through Firefox, I did for awhile then one day it randomly gave me an error that usually reinstalling fixes, tried all alternatives such as cookie clearing and etc.. but nothing fixes it now. So I watch through Edge.
>>60941336
Which one of you has the newest/fastest PC/network card out of the two?
>>60941336
Oh also, the only other thing I can think of is. I do run it through a 4k Television on my PC. I was thinking that possibly, Netflix is 'trying' to source 4k content, but since i'm only on ADSL/20mbps, it throttles out the connection.
However it does this with content that as far as I know doesn't 4k content to output (such as anime, for example).
>>60941355
Mine would be the latest. MSI Gaming 7 onboard, though a few years old.
>>60941369
That's probably it. Your PC is able to take advantage of your router's maximum throughput and hogs all the bandwidth when buffering through videos.
Google how to configure your network settings to your PC so you can limit the maximum speed/bandwidth for a specific application, in this case Netflix, or at least be able to toggle it to limit the speed/bandwidth before you start up a marathon sesh. It shouldn't be that hard or take long at all.
I'd be more specific but I don't exactly know where the location of each setting and step-by-step for your unique setup.
If all else fails, you could go into your router settings "192.0.0.1", or something to that affect, and set a maximum limit for your MAC address. Most relatively new router firmware has this type of feature.
