Flash is great for in-browser games with small filesize, asides from few stability and secure issues.
What ever happened to Gnash?

wait until they turn all of them into Electron apps for every platform so they can make more profit from artfags who don't know better
we live in our parents basements, we don't need professional software

Linux is the future of gaming
>>60935214
Unironically yes because it can play melee and no other games matter
>>60935214
Linux doesn't want games. Keep your anti-user, anti-privacy proprietary DRM services like Steam away.
>>60935295
this
melee, osu! and some other emulators are all games a man should be allowed to play

Advanced users of GNU/Linux (and I mean advanced), remember to try Source Mage GNU/Linux. True source-based distribution, and (in contrast with Gentoo and Arch) is:
Free from obfuscated and pre-configured code.
Fully committed to GPL, uses only free software (as in freedom) in their main package.
With even the documentation licensed as FDL.
Without 3rd party patches, sensible defaults or masked packages.
Doesn't need obfuscated python libraries, only bash.
Uses clean dependencies as they came from upstream developers, which by the same provides instant updates.
Can heal broken installs.
Can also use flags.
Do you like Arch Linux's AUR? Do you like Gentoo's portage (or ports-like) package manager? With SMGL's "sorcery" you get all that. Making new spells (packages) not found in the grimoire (repository) is easy http://sourcemage.org/Spell/Book
Bash hackers welcome! Come and join http://sourcemage.org/

So maybe I'm not "advanced" enough, but I keep getting a kernel panic on boot after installing the chroot image:
No filesystem could mount root, tried: reiserfs ext3 ext2 ext4 jfs xfs
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,3)
Pid: 1, comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 3.4.51-smgl-x86_64 #6
Call Trace:
...
I followed the example and made the root folder an XFS filesystem, so I don't know why the kernel's panicking over this.

Hey /g/, what DE should I use?
ratpoison
If you want productivy, use either unity or i3wm or another tiling wm.
If you want rice-ability, use kde.
I can't say much about gnome or xfce. I use xfce when I have normies by and they have to use my computer, or when I have need of a normal stacking window DE.
Mostly I'm on i3wm.
Windows 3.11

I work in a strartup-like environment and recently I've been having to do a lot of full stack web development recently. All of the front end development is done in AngularJS. I have to say, Javascript is fucking terrible. Do people actually like using this language? Is there ANY other way to dynamically load content on a web page?
>>60934995
Yes. React, Elm, Vue..
Plenty of options.
>>60935040
>React, Elm, Vue
I'm talking about an alternative to javascript all together. The javascript frameworks are still javascript.

No, no they do not.

Is there any software to generate music based on parameters you set?
>>60934971
Yes, it's called a synthesizer.
>>60934986
I meant something that uses AI.
>>60934971
Writing sheet music and feeding it into a midi player counts as a parameter you set
In another thread, there was a minor debate about password managers, so I wanted to ask /g/ what they thought.
I use a password manager for all my important passwords, with a complex master key that I've memorized. My database is on a private server that syncs between my phone and my laptop.
Do you think this is safer, or less secure, than the more common methods such as password journals, using passwords that you custom make for the website (#PassW0rd!Google), or other methods?

Thanks for the new Twitter Password:
Does this mean you’re going to make love to me tonight, Christian?” Holy shit. Did I just say that? His mouth drops open slightly, but he recovers quickly.
“No, Anastasia it doesn’t. Firstly, I don’t make love. I fuck… hard. Secondly, there’s a lot more paperwork to do, and thirdly, you don’t yet know what you’re in for. You could still run for the hills. Come, I want to show you my playroom.”
My mouth drops open. Fuck hard! Holy shit, that sounds so… hot. But why are we looking at a playroom? I am mystified.
“You want to play on your Xbox?” I ask. He laughs, loudly.
“No, Anastasia, no Xbox, no Playstation. Come.”… Producing a key from his pocket, he unlocks yet another door and takes a deep breath.
“You can leave anytime. The helicopter is on stand-by to take you whenever you want to go, you can stay the night and go home in the morning. It’s fine whatever you decide.”
“Just open the damn door, Christian.”
He opens the door and stands back to let me in. I gaze at him once more. I so want to know what’s in here. Taking a deep breath I walk in.
And it feels like I’ve time-traveled back to the sixteenth century and the Spanish Inquisition.
Holy fuck.

You got a pretty solid setup, just make sure you don't expose that server to external connections.
Is Ubuntu safe? Did they remove all of the malware/spyware?
you can
>remove amazon spyglass with a single terminal command
>use a different DE
It's Tinfoil Hat Linux or NSA. Those are your options.

uses systemd so no.
