There is no real reason to hate systemd.
The only people who are hating systemd are bandwagoner faggots and salty BSD cucks trying to derail the community from making progress.

Whatever you say, Lennart, you fucking faggot.
>>60932375
systemd is shit. breaks all principals of do one thing well, tries to assimilate other things it can never be good at. fuck off.

How do i make use of my monitor's ICC profile? I tried "icc-profile-auto" and color changed but im not sure if its a "correct" color.
icc-profile-auto and calibrate your monitor.
>>60932559
If i wont put icc-profile-auto into config it wont use my ICC profile at all, right?
>>60932584
You can load it too with --icc-profile=<file>
so /g/ do you write comments in your code? why?

Yes, because I'm not a fucking nigger who hates documentation.
No, I don't for maintenance reasons.Anyone that can't understand the code from reading it shouldn't be modifying it.
What's the FOSS equivalent of MS Access? Because it sure as fuck isn't Libre/OpenOffice Base.

So what is objectively the best general purpose programming language?
Please argue about something like features, popularity in various fields, perspectives, advantages, disadvantages.
My vote for now it's certainly C++, okay sounds predictably but really, It has anything what you need:
full OOP support
powerful metaprogramming
ability to mix low-level and hi-level code
very good concurrency support
very good optimisations and the faster binaries
quite good, comfortable and clean syntax
access to OS API directly via headers
access to your memory
intrinsics and inline ASM
tons of various libs
huge community
Since last years C++ has improved many features within new standards like C++11 and they're gonna go further.

Python 3
>>60932390
I second that.
Webapps, desktop apps, cli apps, talking to other devices over serial, cryptography, heavyweight computations, artificial intelligence, web scraping - it's all simple with Python.
Some people make the argument about speed, but do you really want to spend a month more so that the application runs for 10s rather than 60s?
Also, most of the time is waiting for IO anyway, so it doesn't matter.
The only things that you can't really do that easily with python are OS programming, real time applications, MCUs and native windows apps (it's possible, but oftentimes tricky).
There's no general purpose programming language.
Redpill me on free, open-source software. Is it actually bad for you?
How the fuck would it be bad for you, as an end-user?

So im moving into a new apartment and the only service provider for cable and internet is xfinity. I've heard horror stories of them before, but my cousin says he's loved them for the last couple of years he's had them.

Are laptop safes a meme?
I am thinking how to ensure that someone won't steal my laptop when I'm out of my house (which is very rare but still)
Sometimes I need to run things when I'm out of my house and if someone took the laptop while it's running, it could be dangerous as for the thing running has to be unencrypted while it's running
Should I not be running the program home? ?but then I have to trust some (((cloud server) operator))) which isn't much better
Install few cameras, write a script which takes pictures/video when there's sound in your room, send it to your email, play some pre recorded voice to burglars. Should be enough to scare them off.
>>60932239
Sounds good. This could be my next project.
>>60931929
just hide it somewhere, like in a secret compartment or get an insurence so if someone steals shit from your house, you'll atleast get your money back

Remember when everyone was laughing at Microsoft's browser for being so far behind Mozilla Firefox in web standards? Well it finally happened, Edge has surpassed Firefox.
https://html5test.com/compare/browser/firefox/edge.html
What happened?
Apart from the fact that edge is basically spyware, not much I guess?
Also It's only faster if you have all flags enabled, now find someone running edge in gentoo
But is it FREE SOFTWARE?
Can it play webms yet?
