nobody here knows what stomach vacuums do ?
Fuck off
Anyone did this program?
>>36539136
Yep. Works, just do a bit more mobility as prescribed. Had a bit sore ellbows because I was not used to the triceps isolation but still, the program is good hybrid for athletes imo
>>36539136
If Joe DeFranco says it works, then it works.
>>36539136
Yes. Its a good program for its intended purpose. Its terrible for most of /fit/, but that's true of damn near everything.

but i wanna get fit
I found there is two type routines for beginner 3-5x5 (Starting Strength, Stronglifts, ICF, Reg Park etc.) and 3x10 (Kilgore's FIT, Lyle McDonald's Beginner Program). What is better for skinny beginner like me? I know everyone at fit faps to Ripp's SS, but FIT program was written by Kilgore and he is co author of Starting Strength so he probably knows his stuff and can't suggest shit program to beginners.
>>36539071
It makes fuck-all difference. The principles behind the programming matter more than the exact set and rep numbers, and even that matters less than you putting in the hard yards.
Kilgore's FIT beginner routine
What gear is essential? What is the best plan for getting into it quick?
>>36538949
Running shoes, t-shirt, shorts.
Every other day run till you drop.
Or find a program.
Don't on more than twice a week.
>>36538949
Move your left leg first, then your right, here's where it gets tricky. Don't move ur right again, do the left leg, keep doin this program I'm designing for you and you should be running like a real human bean in no time. Take the survey, helps a lot.
Hey /fit/ I need to get sixpack abs before summer. What are some exercises I can do? I already do 100 sit ups a day.
Eat at a read the sticky.

>>36538896
This 1 weird trick
I enjoy dead lifting. I feel great ripping that weight off the ground but my obliques have become too developed and I have no taper. I feel like dropping deadlifts is the best thing to do. I can do so many other lifts to work my back and traps and I can work hamstrings with leg curls after I squat. What should I do? I love deadlifts but I want to be happy with my body
>>36538852
I doubt it's really a problem.
First of all, Bret Contreras has debunked the myth that deadlifts make your waist wide.
Secondly, most male fitness models train the crap out of their obliques with direct exercises that hit them way harder than any amount of deadlifting ever will. You don't see these guys having their "aesthetics ruined".
I think there's 3 things going on here if you think you're getting too wide:
You're not quite as lean as you think you are.
You're genetically predisposed to a wider waist.
You're underestimating the impact of perspective and posing. This is a big one. Bodybuilding is a sport of illusion and I have personally noticed many times that some fitness models who usually seem to have a very narrow waist suddenly look much more "square" in certain pictures when they don't get to pose properly.
>>36538957
not OP but awesome post
>>36538957
Yes I need to get leaner but a problem I have is that I used to box and so for years I trained my obliques to make them as strong as possible, because of this I have a thick waist and deadlifts are just helping maintain that. The other problem I have and I think this is more important than posing; my shoulders aren't as wide as I want them. If you have narrow shoulders you need a very narrow waist to create a good taper and dropping deadlifts and doing more OHP can help
I'm thinking of learning a Martial Arts Technique, what do you guys recommend?
>>36538848
Boxing for ~8 months
Into Judo for ~12 months
Into BJJ for ~12 months
Into Aikido indefinitely
>>36538866
What is your favorite?
I do Taekwondo, and I think it's great personally.
Does creatine really raise DHT levels? Doesn't that shit cause balding?
I might be thinning a bit in the front, but I like creatine because I'm weak
>>36538799
idk, i've been on creatine for the last 8 months non stop, but I'm not predisposed to balding.
>>36538799
>Results: After 7 days of creatine loading, or a further 14 days of creatine maintenance dose, serum T levels did not change. However, levels of DHT increased by 56% after 7 days of creatine loading and remained 40% above baseline after 14 days maintenance (P < 0.001). The ratio of DHT:T also increased by 36% after 7 days creatine supplementation and remained elevated by 22% after the maintenance dose (P < 0.01).
There's your answer.
>>36538799
yes, but so does heavy exercise
if you're predisposed, it's gonna happen anyways. if you're not, nothing to worry about.
tldr just use the fucking creatine
I just binge ate roughly 3-4 cups of sunflower seeds and I know I'm gonna feel like complete shit after they digest a bit more.
Should I purge?

opiate addiction is killing my relationship and life.
im 26. so is my gf. for 2 years my opiate use has increased and increased to the point that it's essentially become the most important thing in my life. it's not even the physical addiction/dependency that gets me. it's the mental effects. i dont take it every day and doses arent crazy, but its turned me into an emotionally numb zombie and my gf is done with it. shes wanting to take a break because i keep failing to get off em. shes not sexually satisfied because i have no libido. im distant and disconnecting and unpresent with her while im on em. shes not attracted to me when im on em cuz I lose my masculinity. subutex use has probably tanked my test.
tl;dr opiate addiction making my gf want to take a break, what paradigm shift do i need to stop taking this shit?
:(
>>36538657
Fellow br/opi/ giving advice, it's tempting to be self destructive, but at the end of the day your future is up to you, take charge of your life man.
Start tapering your doses, talk to your GP or a Doctor, decrease your dose down to the lowest maintanance dose possible and start hitting the Gym. I had the same problem, I cut down my use and started being more engaged in life. Libido came back after a month of stopping.
Good luck lad.
>>36538657
what kind? are we talking needle in the arm?
what are /fit/'s thoughts on this guy?
is he respected in the bodybuilding community?
He got me into lifting about 4 years ago, obviously p90x is nothing like a normal bodybuilding routine, but for a total noobie who didn't even know about routines I found it a nice introduction to fitness.
>>36539089
I enjoy it. Did the original p90x program through a single cycle about 7 years ago and lost 25 lbs.Gained it all back but then downloaded p90x3 when it came out and have been doing that for 2 years straight now(lost 65 lbs first year doing the program). The 30 minute workouts are easy to manage and keeps me at a good fitness/athletic level which is all I want. If you want to be physically fit, it works. If you want more, you'll need to hit up the gym.
>>36538536
I did his program a few years ago, it was good for getting fit. If you want to get big, you'll have to start on a bodybuilding routine.
