Hello guys, just got shoulder dislocation while bench pressing on upper bench (failed to put one hand down and barbell fall to other side) and have few questions for ppl with same experience

Have had both shoulders dislocated during non lifting exercise. Yes, you can work out again. But you have to accept that you have to be careful with some lifts like overhead press. But apart from that I think lifting isnt too risky as your shoulder muscles are usually flexed which reduces the risk of dislocation.

I didnt work out for around 2 month and then started with light exercises again. It will take you another 3-6 months to get back to pre-injury form.

Definitely true. It depends on how much your joint is fucked up. I think lifting is mostly safe and I have been bench pressing regularly for years now. You will get a feel for when your shoulder gets unstable. Also do not play serious basketball, volleyball or any of those things that require hard arm swings.

My best friend, who is also my flatmate, is morbidly obese and has been talking about dieting.

I've been on his case about this diet non stop all week, pushing him drink water instead of soda and having him eat meat and vegetables instead of so many carbohydrates.

I found a receipt on the floor, a receipt from Mcdonalds. From the first day his diet started, two big macs, one chocolate sunday, large chips and a large coke with no ice.

I hit him up about it and the lie developed from 'I wasn't at Mcdonalds' to 'I ordered a chicken wrap, that wasn't my order' (I know what he always orders at Mcdonalds).

I feel like I should just fucking give up on him. How can he lie for an entire week about dieting.

I don't think there anything I can reasonably do to assist or help at this point. The ball seems to be in his court, it's his choice if he goes to fucking Mcdonalds.

Hello /fit/,
I am an obeese 18 year old guy, nealy 300 lbs, and I have always had a love for bicycle riding. Problem is, they tend to break under my weight, particularly on the handlebars and pedels. I would really like to get a bike that can support my weight, but being 18 and working minimum wage limits my options. Are their any good bikes under $200 thar could support a large man like me?

lots of listings. Any really entry level mountain bike should support your fatass unless your hucking huge jumps and drops.

I'm gonna be helping a friend pack up his shit and move to a new house at the end of the week, what are some exercises i can do to slightly increase my functional strength?

Too many feel threads. Lets get back to fitness.

/fit/ is it possible to maintain 8%-10% body fat consistently? Like the dude in the picture.

I'm 165lbs around 15% body fat. I can maintain 15% easily but I've never tried cutting and maintain below that.

Any health problems associated with that level of body fat? I'd like to maintain 8% body fat for 8 months, then bulk for 4 during the winter.

Former competitive rower here.

I used to have a 6-7% BF around the season. Just a matter of consistent diet.

It's doable, but the only problem can be that you're prone to catching colds, injuries, etc. Turns out your body needs a little fat and draining it for to long makes it a little weak.

I prefer to keep my body fat around 10-12 these days, anything less and start to feel bad.

Worst thing happening is when you burn muscle and everything starts to smell like ammonia..... Fuck I hated that shit

It is possible, but I'd venture to say its not very healthy. And good luck gaining muscle doing it if you are natty.
Even with the 4 month bulk cycle if you are not natty you will not gain much muscle or strength in that amount of time

so I joined the military 3 years ago, 5'10, 165lbs. Felt/looked good(not great) since then I've gotten fat. I need a cutting program and diet please. Also any supplements that won't get me kicked out would be nice.

So I fainted at the gym, I was doing some crunches and got a bad stomach cramp so stood up, next thing I know I'm without my glasses and some guy is asking me if I'm alright, he said I was out for a few seconds. What do /fit/?

That's fucking retarded to give the bench away on purpose. When I am done w my main lifts I usually superset some machine lifts, e.g. leg extensions/curls, and it seems like everytime I go to the other machine someone slides in and messes up my routine. Can't be mad cus its not like I own the machine, but it does suck.

i think it looks quite fun and its definitly the closest place around me to practice oly lifts.
since there is one really close to me so im thinking about going and try it out.

The gym lets anyone use the equipment when the classes aren't on, and some of the stuff is cool. they have a giant climbing frame thing which is good for pull-up jumps, muscle ups and ring work. And they have a bunch of strongman style apparatus like tires and prowlers etc so can do more dynamic strength work in my own way without having some crazed middle aged single fitness freak woman screaming at me.
