How would you modify the Texas Method for powerlifting?

Its already a powerlifting program, but whatever.

More work on the comp lifts, that's about all the changes you need to make. That and realising you won't be able to run it year-round. Most powerlifting routines aren't intended for that and TM isn't fully an exception.

If it's legitimate USADA testing, you aren't passing a test unless you're well-connected and well-funded. Like to sketchy chemists and doctors who decided to forego a legitimate career that requires years of education to create drugs for elite athletes.

Non-tested? Idk, everything? Test for recovery. Tren for aggression and overall strength. Maybe get off the tren if you're one of those guys whose cardio suffers on Tren. Deca for joints.

i fucking hate them, the guys i know at the gym never do any of that shit and are only supportive. i've been lifting a year and they've been there forever, but they never say anything but positive stuff ever, and even though i don't know them that well, they'd have my back if shit happened, my friends are a bunch of immature fucks that would never have my back and i hate them.

Hello /fit/. I have lurked on and off for 4 years. This board overall is pretty cool, full of good advice and good dudes. I was wondering if anyone here turned their life around from a drug or alcohol addiction, and if you did, if you would give me any tips?

I can't stand fatties who give up after a week and say they gave it their best shot. However I have a degree in biochemistry and am currently in a professional school and addiction is a real issue. Overcoming a deepseeded addiction with willpower alone is rare.

As someone who goes off and on (3 months on, 6 months off) consistently for the past 8 or so years, does anyone have any advice for me?

Op here, i should add that during my "on" months of cardio, lifting, and healthy diet 6/7 days a week I feel fucking amazing. The feeling of accomplishment from progression and just clean living is literally orgasmic. I don't know why I always slip back into drugs and alcohol. The second I touch the stuff during these periods of feeling amazing I immediately feel horrible, but a week later I will be on a 7 day drug and alcohol fueled bender.

Any advice from people who have broken the cycle for good would be appreciated.

What if I literally have no friends other than my parents?

All of my "friends", who i put in quotes, but I love them all a great deal. All of my "friends" though would not be "close" and hold me accountable given my age. I'm in my early 20's so telling all my friends that drinking isn't for me and drugs aren't good to me pisses them off.

and I understand the "well then they're bad friends, find new ones" but where are they?

And what do you do with my lifelong 10+ year friends who don't accept me for not drinking/drugs. I obviously still want have relationships with these people they're literally my childhood.

Anyone know a good place to buy decent branded gym clothing for affordable prices. Really don't wanna go to Sportchek and grab 4 pairs of Nike jogging pants for $400 or some bullshit. Was thinking of value village or something but that might be gross. Any suggestions? Maybe a good online source even?

Why does it need to be branded?
You're unlikely to get much good when it comes to workout clothing used.

I buy some of mine online, and some on sales, the only stuff I really buy for performance would be Adidas training pants. Almost everything else I work out in is either Joe Fresh (really cheap where I live, I've heard it's not really cheap in USA but I can't confirm), Wal-Mart clothes and random old t shirts.

go to Ross/Marshalls most of the time they have pretty good products there.

Marshalls usually has thebetter quality stuff while Ross is more of the stuff no one really wants or it's overstock (like professional team branded shit)

At Marshalls I bought some shorts for 10$ that I found at the Nike outlet for 90$, they had those tech fleece varsity jackets there for 50$ when at the Nike outlet they wanted 110$.

Ross I bought powerlift 2.0s for 40$.

Is weightlifting in the morning (before work) and doing cardio in the afternoon (walk or jogging) crazy or going overboard? Should I just build cardio into my regular workout schedule?

Switch it around, fasted cardio in the morning and weights in the afternoon/evening

Anyone regularly use rowing machine, or own one? They seem like a good way to get your cardio in while possibly building some lean muscle. What are you thoughts /fit/ on indoor rowing.

They are extremely intense if you want them to be. My forearms go into some sort of shock when I do HITT.

I find it to be more of a back/arm workout than legs.

Concept2 rower/step mill are GOAT for burning calories

Very underrated. I hit one for a few minutes to warm up, and sometimes I'll do a quick 10-15 minutes of cardio on them afterwards.
