If you have any oil you could mix the flour and some water with a little sugar and fry in a pan for some ghetto fried dough, top with more sugar.

Not my favourite and is up for discussion for actually being cheese but Cottage cheese works with a shitload of dishes. It makes soups more creamy, pastas more nutritious / adds to the flavour and it goes really well with lots of vegetables too, especially as it has a high nutritional value.

I would almost call it the perfect addition to any dish. It's also cheap.

Go for a chowder or something chicken broth based. I find myself liking a potato soup with townhouse crackers or a chicken noodle with a healthy portion of black pepper

just get big cans of beans. forget soup. Soup has a poor calorie/price ratio. It's mostly water and salt.

I something quite similar, except I start with dried beans and also add tomatoes, worcestershire sauce, and plenty of hot sauce (I normally use chilles with a little less spice than serranos). It is delicious and dirt cheap. I serve it over rice.
