Ramsay 3 star chef

First half is a lot of glossy pictures of food and some information about his restaurant. How the chef samples every loaf of bread each day etc. The second half is a collection of some of the iconic dishes and recipes used in his 3 star restaurant.

They arent easy to cook and require a lot of skill, as well as some expensive ingredients. However, there is some really nice knowledge in there. Its slightly dated now, but given that I picked my copy up on Amazon for £3, and its in very good condition its well worth getting.

Also, its a very nicely made book. Its much bigger than most books.

I stopped putting salt in pasta water months ago and there's no difference

Is salt in pasta water a meme?

It does nothing but bring the water to a boil slightly faster.

Heya /ck/. I was planning on making some mulled wine to give as gifts this holiday season. I have never made any before and noticed there are many different variations. So I was wondering if you guys had any tips or recipes you'd like to share?

I like to mix apple cider and wine, add some honey, citrus peel (usually a mix of lemon and orange peel) and some of the citrus juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, cardamom and simmer on low for like 10-20 mins.
>>
>>7190343
I like the idea of using honey a lot more than just granulated sugar. Do you have a specific wine you prefer to use?
>>
>>7190447
Not really, usually a lighter red like cabernet sauvignon but I've also used zinfandel and pino grigio. I've made it with merlot and shiraz before too but those tend to be a bit stronger and some people don't care for it.

I also don't go for anything too expensive since it'll be flavored, usually stuff around $8-10/bottle at most.

I love apple products (juice, cider, pies, crumbles, danish, etc etc) but I cannot eat apples as they are, for some reason when I bite into and chew them it feels like they're drying out my teeth and gums, it's a weird sensation like nails on a chalkboard, does anybody else get this feeling?

I get it with grapes as well sometimes, but no other fruits

You are allergic to apples. You don't get it with apple products because the apples are cooked and it slightly changes the proteins so that they don't fuck your face when you eat them. I used to love cherries, still do, but I somehow developed an allergy to them, it has something to do with birch tree pollen. I can eat cooked cherries but not raw ones or else my mouth starts itching like crazy. That being said, I still eat cherries, I'm a man and I refuse to be mother nature's bitch.
>>
>>7189848
Are you sure? I mean, I know the whole cooked/uncooked thing is a thing but I don't think it seems like an allergic reaction, if I could compare it to something is like almost if I were to eat chalk despite it having juice
>>
>>7189852
Maybe. That anon is right though about possible allergies.
Whenever I eat raw apple I get major itching and burning on my lips, tongue, gums, mouth, throat.
Suffice to say I don't eat raw apples anymore, which is sad because I loved biting into a crisp juicy apple.
I think I remember getting that weird chalk feeling, try eating more apples and see if it progresses to the burning itching feeling. Or just avoid raw apples.
I get it with other fruits too, I don't remember which ones exactly maybe apricots.

it's gonna dilute the fuck out of the flavour of the turkey and without monitoring the temp could still easily dry it out, so no.

Ugh. There's literally a billion resources for this.

There are hundreds of cookbooks and buzzfeed and buzzfeedesque articles that cover this.

I know this is a cooking board and for cooking discussion, but this is kind of a google type thing.

I can't even think of a comparison. Maybe asking /k/ something as ridiculously broad as "Where does the bullets go?"

Someone give me a goddamn fantastic banana pudding recipe that don't need the oven to make please.
