i drink non-alcoholic beer because i like the flavor
Hey, I just found out that my dad goes through a fry pan a year because he buys the cheapest one he can find at Wal-Mart. I was thinking of getting him one that would last a bit longer the next time I see him, as sort of a late Christmas gift.
8 inches, non-stick, 50 or 60 dollars at most. What would you recommend?
Your dad has the right idea. If hes using non stick cookware, the coating is going to wear out no matter what you spend on the pan. The only thing you should really look for in a teflon pan is a thick enough bottom. Expect to throw it out or teach him to use real pans.
>>7197269
What do you mean by real pan?
If your dad can't make a cheap teflon last longer than a year he obviously doesn't give a shit about, or know how to, take care of his kitchen equipment.
Don't bother buying him something nice when you're only going to see it fucked over the next time you go to visit.
Hello and welcome to generic fast food joint, may I take your order?
A large pink slime and fried oil sticks please. Oh, and a cup of brown sugar water. Thanks.

diabetes
I will have two of your fines fattening devices with a side a sugar water and a pie.
Whats the general consensus concerning Newmans Own?
I actually like some of the stuff they make.
Feelgood shit for dumb cunts who don't know the meaning of the term "administrative expenses." Quality is little better than every other thing on supermarket shelves, yet charges astoundingly more for the product.
I rarely buy it myself. But, it's usually pretty good. If I'm eating mostly for fuel/nutrition, I usually go for simpler foods. If I'm eating for getting the most enjoyment of the food, I'm probably making it myself, as the anticipation and activity that goes with food prep is more than half of what I like about a good meal.

Did Paul Newman rape your family at gunpoint or what?
Hey /ck/, I want to organize a LOTR movienight with some friends and was wondering if you guys had any ideas what would be some great middle-earth food that would go along with it?
I'm not a very experienced cook, but I was thinking of taking a stab at some English pies or something. Some nice dark beers to wash everything down as well.

How does /ck/ fry their chicken?
In lard.
>>7200712
With a fryer
>>7200712
Pan fried in Vegetable oil.
I bought a deep fryer solely to fry chicken, but Fuck it up every time.
Pan fried is the way to go for me
I have no friend or family, I am from poland and visiting Canada to do my engineering phD.
I'm like to cook but my hostel not have any kitchen for me to cook (I am removed from residences on campus for the winter break).
I will sit and watch all leaked movies on piratebay.
What some christmas and comfy foods can I buy from the store? Not cooking involved, because I do not have a stove.
I talk to my mother already.
>>7199406
If your English is this poor, there is no way you are getting a PHD in engineering OP.
That being said, just eat whatever you want from the store. Get a ham or rotisserie chicken.
And call your mom again.
I'm 12 and what is this?

Canadian here. Where you at?
Do you have a favorite fast food burger? I like the Arbys classic roast beef with horsey sauce and curly fries on it
That's not a burger; it's a sandwich.
All burgers are sandwiches, but not all sandwiches are burgers.
Two all beef patties, special sauce, lemon cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame-seed bun

I sandwiched your mom's burger I'm afraid to say.
Hey /ck/,
I've volunteered to make Christmas dinner this year, and I was thinking of doing a braised beef dish, as it sounds like a nice hearty main course for winter time. I've never made a big dish of braised beef, so I was just wondering about any tips. Thinking of doing something with red wine and porcini mushroom, but I'm open to all kinds of suggestions. Also still pretty up in the air about side dishes, so suggestions there are totally welcome too.
Thanks guys.
If you've never done it before, don't worry, pot roast beef is extremely simple: you brown the beef (usually a chuck roast), cover it with flavorful liquid, then leave it to simmer for a few hours.
A good starting point would be to watch the Good Eats episode on pot roast, and look up recipes for Beouf Bourguignon for a classic version.

yeah, nah. ur fucked op. go with something deep fried, pan fried, steamed, baked, grilled, smoked or sous vide instead.

Ham with some vegatables and creme fresh
Hey /ck/
What do you eat when you're hungry at midnight?
I was busy at work trying to get shit done so I wouldn't come in during Christmas and now it's 11:30 and I dunno what's open at this hour.

Are you seriously young enough to not know who Dave Thomas was?
Dinner, /ck/. You?
I had a frozen pizza earlier due to lack of motivation to make anything else.
Saving all my fucks to give tomorrow when I'm cooking.
>>7200199
Wtf kinda Christmas dinner is that? anyway, I'm having roasted chicken and a pack of Camel Fliters™.
>>7200199
My xmas eve chow was black cherry bourbon and brown sugar coated ham with mashed potatoes.
The ham was honestly, the best I've ever had. I swear on my life.
I also had beet pickled eggs and deviled eggs.
You are drunk and now you are hungry...what are you going to make/ get to eat?
Triple pork poutine with extra broccoli on top, with a side of deep fried pickle spears.
>>7200201
I have heard alot about poutine...whats all the rage about
>>7200223
You have to try it for yourself
Anyone cooking up some fancy food today? Smoked a prime rib for Christmas Eve dinner today at the in-laws.
Protip. When bringing a prime rib to your relatives, make sure to bring your own knives. Would have been better cutting this with dental floss.
Never had smoked prime rib, just the old fashioned way. Looks good as fuck though.
>going to an unknown kitchen to cook/serve food
>not bringing your knife roll
>at the very least not bringing your sharpening steel
