Make some italian bread and put some salt on it. Tastes pretty good if you ask me.
Pic related, salted bread.
I usually just spread salted butter on my italian bread.
Tastes even better than just putting salt on it if you ask me.
That is not italian

What is the best Italian Dessert for home cooking /ck/?
I'm leaning towards trying zuccotto
Anything better? Tiramisu? Florentines?
I am from Italy and I detest most of our desserts. We make good chocolates and sweets, though.
For cakes, I'd go with a Germanic country. All jokes aside, those fuckers know their way around an oven.
If I'm forced to pick an Italian one, Italian-style apple pie is pretty okay. Neapolitan zeppole/graffe are good, too. Most of the rest can go suck a shit.

Try the "torta caprese" it's fucking delicious

What else can I do with Spaghetti Sauce besides slappin' it in some spaghetti?
I made a giant pot of homemade spaghetti sauce, enough to last a month frozen.
Problem is, I'm getting sick of spaghetti fast.
I was thinking of cooking it with chicken or beef or something.
Lasagna
Chicken/eggplant parmesan
Chicken cacciatore
Sausage with peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomato sauce
Mussels/clams marinara
Combine some with water or stock and make soup, like minestrone
Tomato soup
Mix with some rice and sausage/beef/pork/chicken and vegetables to make stuffed peppers or cabbage rolls
Pizza/calzone/stromboli
Add cream and some vodka for a vodka sauce for a change.
Add some more stuff to it and use it as a marinade for pork/chicken
Sloppy joes
All I can think of off the top of my head at the moment.
Freeze in ice cube tray and deep fry frozen cubes. very authentic.

Does anyone know where to buy highly polished rice (50-70%) for sake in the UK?
Buy a tumbler
Polish your own damn rice
>>7193490
They sell koji kin, but not rice for sake sadly...
I've been sick these past few days /ck/, and I'm finally well enough to cook again.
Give me your best chicken noodle soup recipe, or any feel-good recipes for when you're under the weather.
Not really a full recipe, but don't be one of those big pussies who just uses noddles and stuff in chicken broth.
Have big fucking pieces of actual chicken meat in the soup, or gtfo.
How I do it.
Heat up pan, oil up pan
Insert chicken thighs sans bones and skin
brown up on both sides
add chopped garlic, ginger and chili
deglaze with soy sauce and fish sauce
add liquid (I just use water, but it will taste watery. Use a mixture of wine and stock/broth instead but watch the salt as it will be quite salty)
let bubble until the thighs are the level of doneness and consistency you want, you usually want them to be easily tearable.
boil noodles, add into a cup
add torn up chicken pieces
add liquid from the pan
serve with fresh garlic, fresh spring onion/leek, fresh coriander and thinly sliced bell peppers and carrot sticks on top
Gimme your best cookie recipe /ck/
You don't deserve it and you never will.
I think my cooking habits have started to affect my daily life.

So /ck/ what are your favorite midnight snacks?
>>7193338
It took you an hour to saute beef and vegetables and put them in a pita?
Find myself not on the computer as much as I used to be now that I cook meals everyday instead of getting take out and shit. I'm actually a happier person now. On Sunday I cook 5 days worth of meals for my M-F job for lunch, then cook dinner everyday. Getting pretty good in the kitchen.
>>7193344
It took me an hour to pytz around the kitchen then cook whatever it was I decided to eat.
Pasta carbona is superior to ostrich and beef.

Beef is way superior

This. I never eat animals that designers haven't made just for my individual body.

Not everybody is made of money, anon. We all have to cook, and any seasonings are better than none.
Smoked paprika is so dope. I put it on any meat at this point.
cayenne is better t.b.h.
I recently was linked a video of some very tasty looking bacon and cheese bombs which i want to try and make. However the recipe asks for biscuit dough (pilsbury grands in this case), and this is not something i can get hold of in the UK.
So can anyone give me a good simple mix for this dough?
https://youtu.be/rluvvGdhRVo
>>7192990
The biscuit dough in your picture Brand? It comes in two types...flakyish kind of like croissant dough, or the southern style which is very similar to your scone recipe. The latter might have a bit of a yeast rise step.
Make biscuits. Cut in butter/shortening/lard into flour with baking soda in it, add dairy of choice (from buttermilk to cream), and roll out. Cut out. To make a flakier biscuit, you book the dough (fold and roll out mulitple times), such as you do for homemade croissants. This presses butter into thin sheets which steam and make layers of crispy dough.
If your recipe allows it, the easiest biscuits are drop biscuits, which skip rolling completely.
>>7192990
That's just a scone lad.
>>7192999
The guy in the video used the exact dough in the picture but thanks for the help. I shall try and make some up later tonight.

Pretty much anything is going to have better burgers than McDonalds

>>7192964
Do you mean Shake Shack?
Starting in NYC, it's the original style of flat griddle-cooked hamburger. Sort of a 5 Guys, or some of the old places like A&W, and mom and pop diners would make a short order kind of burger (no open flame).
Not much compares to McDonalds, however. It's paper-thin burgers pressed with onion bits as it cooks. The only comparable burgers were made much smaller, such as White Castle and Krystal burgers. Soft white bread mushy steamed buns, simple pickle, ketchup and dab of mustard (which mcdonalds quietly eliminated a few years ago).
Shake Shack does everything right, has a chicago hot dog, good friends, great milkshakes, and even an amazing fried portobello they can add to a burger. It's a step above Johnny Rockets pricewise where ordering a full dinner with side and drink doesn't bankrupt you.
